Focal Point Ministries: All right, tribulation, Revelation 9, referring to the tribulation, see it's still 1260 following chapters. Jesus said time was shortened. The point is that the protracted nature of what would happen to the people of God if the tribulation wasn't as short as it is. It was cut short in the planning of God, not that it was shortened shorter than the timeframe that is described in Daniel 12 and Revelation chapter 9.
We know that the tribulational period, the time of Jacob's trouble, the last seven-year period, is seven years, and it's broken into two parts, three and a half years, and the days are described there, at least the prophetic months as you add it up: 1260 days. All of that is what we have as a shortened period of tribulation. And if you think about it, God is destroying here much of the world and the people on it who are rebellious against God, shaking their fist at God, as it says there in Genesis 6, all in a period of time of seven years.
That's a lot of time as you think about living through seven years, but it's not a lot of time when you think about this last generation as pretty much a stand-in for all of the rebellion, as he calls it, the great Babylon, the whore of Babylon, that has been rejecting God for so many centuries and so many decades, and really so many millennia. So it is a short period of time, and I think that's what God was referring to, Kirk, as we were dealing with the issues there.
