Can We Trust the New Testament? - Part 2

April 25, 2017

How can we be sure that the text of the New Testament hasn't been altered in significant ways if we don't have the original documents, and there are 200,000 to 400,000 variants in the manuscript copies? Is Christian belief in jeopardy because the earliest manuscripts do not contain the story about the woman taken in adultery, the last 12 verses of the Gospel of Mark, or the verse on the Trinity found in 1 John 5:7? Is the Bible's teachings about Jesus and Christian doctrine in doubt if it can be shown that some church scribes intentionally changed some of the copies that have come down to us? We answer these questions in the 3 programs in this series.

The Rewards You Can Gain or Lose at The Judgment Seat of Christ
What is the Judgment Seat of Christ? What is the purpose of the Judgment Seat? What misconceptions about the Judgment Seat keep Christians from taking it seriously? Will sins committed before trusting Christ diminish the reward? Will the Judgment be public or private? Will Jesus be angry? What things will Christ look for when He evaluates your life? What rewards may we gain or lose at the Judgment Seat? Who does Jesus promise to reward? Will the death-bed convert receive any rewards? When will the Judgment Seat of Christ take place? Is this Judgment different from the Great White Throne Judgment? Who will appear at each and what takes place? The Bible states, "The time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine." Are we living in such a time? Are we living in the last days when the Bible says people will have an outward appearance of religion but no inward reality? Across the world we are being told that society is getting better and better. But the Bible predicts that things will go from bad to worse. What is the truth? Is there evidence today that a new worldwide religious philosophy (the Antichrist) could capture people's minds all over the world?

Contains Lee Strobel's own story of how as an atheist, he investigated two foundational questions of Christianity: Did Jesus really claim to be God? And did Jesus really rise from the dead? He also presents five historical facts proving the resurrection and responds to the new explanations offered today that supposedly refute Jesus Resurrection.

This series disproves the claims made in the five latest best-selling books -- The Jesus Papers, The Gospel of Judas, The Jesus Dynasty, Misquoting Jesus, and The Da Vinci Code. All of these books have been featured on NBC, ABC, Fox, and National Geographic. Why are these books based on sensationalistic and uncontrolled pseudo scholarship, that rely mostly on imagination, legend, and speculation - but not historical fact?
