The First Year of Marriage
Before the battles of life begin, God calls us to lay a foundation of love.
Rabbi K.A. Schneider: Shalom beloved, this is Rabbi Schneider. A really interesting law in the Torah is found in Deuteronomy chapter 24, verse 5, where the Lord charged newly married men to not go fight, to not be in Israel's army or in their military escapades, but to stay home for a full year to give their wife happiness.
Those of us that are recently married or will soon be getting married, we need to remember how important the first year of marriage is. The primary focus should be building intimacy with our spouse. So let's guard that first year of marriage for those of you that it's applicable for, because soon you're going to have a lot of responsibility.
