The Altar of Incense
There is an ancient, holy pattern that still draws us deeper today.
Rabbi K.A. Schneider: Shalom beloved, this is Rabbi Kurt Schneider from Discovering the Jewish Jesus, and we've been studying the Tabernacle. Inside the Tabernacle, there was an altar of incense, and the fragrance of that incense rose up continually. Of course, the incense represents the prayers of God's people, which is attested to both in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament.
The point is, we are called to walk in a state of continual prayer. This means that you and I should be talking to God all day long about everything. We should be lifting up to the Lord the things that are going on in our heart, the thoughts that we're having in our mind. All day long, we should be having a conversation with God. This is the only way into intimacy and power. Beloved, let's increase in our conversation with God.
