A Daily Walk

John Randall

The Danger of Hypocrisy

May 17, 2024

Maybe you’ve noticed in your daily walk or service of the Lord… when God is at work, Satan loves to attack!  And sometimes the attack comes from unsuspecting places, like from within the church!  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll notice how God’s spirit was very much at work in the early church.  And you guessed it… Satan is about to attack from within.  Pastor John Randall is going through Acts at the present time, and today brings chapter five into focus.

On today’s program we enter chapter four.  In this section of scripture we’re looking at today, Peter has just given a God-inspired evangelistic sermon to a group of people who have observed a miraculous healing of a lame man. Thousands of people ended up surrendering their lives to God.  One might expect that joy would abound, and everyone would be excited by the news.  But that wasn’t the case.  There was a group of religious leaders who were greatly disturbed by this! Pastor John Randall will draw attention to Peter and John’s reaction in the midst of this opposition.

Today we open the book of Acts and begin to look at a story of a man the Lord heals. The Lord gives this man far more than he could have ever imagined! It’s very encouraging to remind ourselves that our God seeks to do far more in and through our lives than we could have ever dreamed possible.  Question is, are you open to being used by God?  Let’s see together how God can and wants to use us in these last days.

When you’re on a search for a church for you and your family to be a part of, what should you look for?  What is it that makes for a healthy church?  We’ll pursue the answer to that question today on a Daily Walk.  And the answer is wonderfully simple and laid out for us in Acts chapter two.  The early church was devoted to the Word, fellowship, communion, and prayer. And pastor John Randall believes the church today should follow their example.

If asked to identify a healthy church, would your mind gravitate to the one’s with the most members and programs, largest building, or that are well known?  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll consider the marks of a healthy church, as described by God.  And you might be surprised to discover God defines success and health far differently than the world.

As many of you know, we’ve been making our way through the Gospel of Matthew.  And we continue to do so today with a look at chapter eight. Many of us would be quick to say we have faith in Jesus. But what if your faith was severely tested, would you waiver or stand strong in the Lord?

We’re in the book of Acts chapter two, which records the day the church was empowered by the Holy Spirit.  You’re about to hear what took place, and it’s amazing to put it mildly!  But pastor John also believes the Holy Spirit is active and working today!  We need to live by the power of the Spirit if we’re to be effective and fruitful.

We’re just getting started in the book of Acts. There are many wondrous events occurring in this book, from the giving of the Holy Spirit, the ascension of Christ, to the many adventures of the Apostle Paul. And pastor John Randall’s messages will help you understand not only what is going on in the early church, but also, how this can affect your life and daily walk.  On today’s program, we’ll look at the latter half of chapter one, where we find four ways the disciples prepared for a greater work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

We are very excited about today’s program as we embark on a study through the book of Acts with pastor John Randall. This is an important historical book, because the christian church had its beginnings recorded here.  We’ll see how it would then spread from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.  God’s chosen method to get the Gospel out is to work through His people and He not only calls us but empowers us too.  Question is are you available for God’s use?

Today on a Daily Walk Pastor John Randall will deliver his final message in the gospel of John. In chapter 21, the Lord will reestablish Peter into public ministry, and there are priorities that Jesus wants to establish for Peter and really all of His sheep.  Along the way, we will see how the Lord goes about healing damaged relationships.  And maybe you’ve strayed from the Lord and done something you’re not so proud of.  The Lord would love to restore you as well!  Today’s message is all about restoration!

Today on a Daily Walk we’re on the final leg of our journey through the gospel of John, and we’ve reached chapter twenty.  There’s no shortage today of what we might term, “bad news!”  But today we’d like to turn your attention to some good news!  In fact it’s the greatest news of all.  How does that sound? Jesus is alive, and the tomb is empty!  Pastor John Randall will show us how this reality should impact our daily walk!
