The Work of the Lord Part 1

August 5, 2022

“Be Watchful!”  No doubt you’ve said that a time or two to your children or loved ones, especially as they hit the road on a trip of some sort.  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see the need to be careful and watchful in our Christian walk on the road of life.  Pastor John Randall will also encourage us to get involved in the work of the Lord, just as Timothy was.

We’ll be in First Corinthians chapter sixteen with pastor John Randall. It’s a good idea to make prayerful plans.  But we also need to remain flexible if the Lord should step in and change things.  Today we’ll go on to see why we need to remain faithful where God has us, even when we’re being opposed.

Maybe you’re a planner?  There’s nothing wrong with that!  But while planning is good, we still need to be open and sensitive to the Lord’s leading and apply some biblical principles in our decision making.  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll notice some of the principles that guided Paul.  We’re about to give our attention to his travel plans and the lessons that flow from it are huge!

Today we get right back into our study of First Corinthians.  We’ve entered a practical portion of the epistle here in chapter sixteen.  And the first area the apostle Paul talks about is our giving to the Lord.

Isn’t it great to take a timeout in the middle of a stressful day and get a breath of fresh air? In a way, that’s what we’re going to do as we continue our study through the book of Revelation. The last part of Chapter eleven provides a chance to step back. We’re about halfway through the Great Tribulation - a time of unprecedented destruction and suffering. In Chapter eleven we will learn about the third woe, or the seventh trumpet judgment. And this results in a point where God is worshipped.

We’ll be finishing First Corinthians chapter fifteen today.  And we’ve camped out here all week, as it emphasizes such an important and encouraging truth… the Resurrection.   Just as Jesus rose from the grave some 2,000 years ago, so too will each believer after they die.  And we will experience eternal life in a place the Lord has prepared for us.  It gets even better… we’ll receive a new and much improved body.

The older we get the more we realize that these bodies we’ve been given are frail and limited.  But here’s the good news for the Christian… you’re going to receive a new and improved body that will be totally different and far better.  Hear all about your glorified body today as we finish up First Corinthians chapter fifteen.

Today we join pastor John Randall in the middle of First Corinthians chapter fifteen, and the subject at hand is the Resurrection of Christ.  Yes Jesus is alive.  But here’s something else you need to know.  If you’re a Christian, you share in His Resurrection and His glorious Kingdom.  It doesn’t get any better than that.  So let’s be encouraged by this glorious reality of the resurrection.
July 27, 2022
Christianity as a whole hangs on one important event, The Resurrection of Christ.  Without the Resurrection, every claim that Jesus ever made is immediately called into question. The Good News is….  it’s true. The Resurrection actually happened!  And here’s something else to consider- Our resurrection as believers is as sure as Jesus’ resurrection!  And we’re going to look into this on a Daily Walk.
July 26, 2022
What if Jesus died and remained in the grave?  In First Corinthians fifteen we’ll discover if there’s no resurrection our faith is empty and our preaching is also empty. In fact if there’s no resurrection we are liars still in our sins with no hope! Talk about some serious ramifications.  But the good news is, the resurrection actually happened and there’s overwhelming evidence to back up that claim.
