The Resurrection of Jesus Christ Part 1

July 22, 2022

Pastor John Randall will begin First Corinthians chapter fifteen in just a moment, which really focuses on the resurrection of Jesus.  The gospel more than anything in this world lives up to its name!  It truly is good news.  And I think you’d agree good news is desperately needed today in our day of hopelessness and uncertainty!  Right at the heart of the Gospel message is the resurrection.

Within the church there’s great debate and even misunderstanding centering around passages like the one we’ll be looking at.  It deals with women in ministry in the church.  We learned last time how it’s vitally important that we consider the context so we don’t misunderstand what God is saying here.  We'll expand on that today.

We’ve been studying the Book of Revelation of late.   During the Tribulation period the Lord will send out two witnesses to testify of His grace, love and forgiveness.  Though they’ll have the power and authority of God they’ll be opposed at every turn.  Similarly we’re called to be God’s witnesses in a hostile environment.  Thankfully we have the power of the Spirit to help.

We haven’t seen Jesus Christ yet… but here’s the good news, if you’re a Christian you will one day!  That wonderful hope is front and center today on a Daily Walk, as pastor John Randall opens First Corinthians chapter thirteen.

We are making our way through First Corinthians, and we get back to chapter thirteen today, which is all about the love of God.  What would you say you’re known for?  Maybe it’s your accomplishments at the workplace, or your wealth?  Some are known as being a gossip, or an angry, bitter person.  Wouldn’t it be nice to be known as a loving person?  That’s actually what the Christian should be known for, and today we’ll be encouraged in that direction.

Someone has noticed snowflakes are one of the most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together. Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see what God can do when we stick together and are unified.  And we’ll raise your awareness to a danger many of us are prone to, and that is esteeming one gift above another.
