A Daily Walk

John Randall

The Kingdom and Power

February 18, 2021

We are very excited about today’s program as we embark on a brand-new study through the book of Acts with pastor John Randall. This is an important historical book, because the Christian Church had its beginnings recorded here.  We’ll see how it would then spread from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.  God’s chosen method to get the Gospel out is to work through His people and He not only calls us but empowers us too.  Question is are you available for God’s use?

I really don’t have to tell you, each and every one of us will experience death… some sooner than others.  That is unless Jesus raptures the church in our lifetime.  But what you may not realize is that there’s an answer for death!  Jesus died for our sins, and three days rose from the grave and conquered death.  Through faith in Him we can experience everlasting life as well.  That’s a message we should not only receive and believe, but share every chance we get.

At the cross some 2,000 years ago Jesus was crucified and buried in a tomb.  If the story ended there, we would have no hope.  But the good news is, Jesus is alive and the tomb is empty.  Today on a Daily Walk receive the invite to come and see the empty tomb and then go and tell someone about it!  Pastor John Randall is going to finish up his study of Mark today and tomorrow and we end on a glorious note… Resurrection!

Don’t you love the feeling of completing a long, hard job?  You can look back on it with satisfaction, knowing it’s finished!  Today on a Daily Walk we’re going to concentrated on three beautiful words from Jesus, spoken just before He died on the cross.  They are, “It is Finished!”  Sweeter words have never been spoken.  And they communicate a great deal to us, that nothing more needs to be done by God or man, when it comes to salvation.

Pastor John Randall is at the tail-end of a study in Mark, and today we bring chapter 15 into focus.  We take you to Calvary today, where in just six hours Jesus changed the eternal destiny of mankind.  It’s hard to put into words all that our Savior went through for us.  And remember He died in our place, receiving all the punishment we deserved.  And He did so obediently, and in love.

What are you going to do with Jesus?  There’s no greater question we could consider than that one my friends. We’re traveling on the road to the cross, through a study of Mark.  Jesus is nearing the time when He would be hung on a cross for our sins, but before He does, Peter would deny Him three times just as the Lord predicted.

We’ve spent a considerable amount of time studying the gospel of Mark on the program, and today we return to chapter fourteen. We’ve all committed shameful acts, things that we’re certainly not proud of as followers of Christ. The good news is God can completely forgive us and use us after the failure.  If you need proof, just open your Bible!  Today we’ll take a look at a low point in Peter’s life, and pastor John will connect it to God’s all-sufficient grace.

Imagine having the people closest to you turn their back on you, when you needed them most!  Rejection hurts deeply and really impacts us doesn’t it?  Today on a Daily Walk we find Jesus going through the most difficult rejection prior to going to the cross.  One of His disciples sold him out, a close friend denies Him, and the religious leaders turn against Him.  He would go to the cross alone.  But none of this would deter Him or set Him off course.

We’re back in Mark chapter fourteen on this Monday. In today’s message, we near the time when the Lord will be arrested and crucified. These verses describe some of the most important moments in human history, paving the way for us to live in eternity with Him!

We’re learning how to become a worshipper of Jesus today on A Daily Walk, with pastor John Randall. And a great example of true worship is found in Mark chapter fourteen.  Here we run across Mary demonstrating a life of worship.  We’ll notice it was calculated, costly, required full commitment, it was criticized and most importantly commended by Jesus.

Today, we begin a study of Mark chapter fourteen.  There we are at church on Sunday sitting in the pew singing along with the worship team, or we click on our favorite music app on our phone, and we call it worship!  But that’s not the only way we worship! As we’ll see on a Daily Walk it’s a way of life.  Today we run across a woman who was involved in true worship that caught the attention of Jesus. God is looking for sincere worship from us today as well.
