Every single Christian has been gifted by God and that’s something to get excited about!  Pastor John Randall has been leading us through the Book of First Corinthians here on a Daily Walk, and we find ourselves today in chapter twelve. If you’ve ever had any questions concerning spiritual gifts from the Lord, you picked the right day to tune in because that’s what we’ll be discussing today and in the days ahead. Whether it’s piano lessons we took as a child, or foreign language class in High School… if we don’t use it we’ll lose it over time!   The Lord knows we have a tendency to forget, and that’s one of the reasons He instituted communion!  He wants us to be reminded of God’s love for us.  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall will point out the purpose of communion and danger of taking it in an unworthy manner.

The apostle Paul writes in First Corinthians chapter eleven that believers shouldn’t take Communion unworthily.  What did he mean by that? Apparently many people in the Corinthian church were participating in Communion without really thinking about its significance.  If we’re being honest, many of us today are probably guilty of that ourselves from time to time.  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall takes us to the Word of God to remind us of just how special it is to remember the Lord’s Supper and the danger of taking it in an unworthy manner.

Today on a Daily Walk we begin a look at Revelation chapter ten, and after the destruction and loss of life we saw in chapter nine, chapter ten is a chance to catch our breath and meet a big Angel with a little book.

In our study of the Scriptures we run across rather puzzling passages that leave us wondering, “How in the world does that apply to us in the 21st century?”  And I think it’s safe to say First Corinthians chapter eleven is one such place.  Here the subject of head coverings comes up.  There were some women in the church at Corinth who chose not to wear head coverings and this caused quite a stir.  In that culture it was a sign she was not following the leadership of her husband.  Well here we are centuries later and obviously that’s no longer a cultural norm.  So do we toss this passage out thinking it no longer applies?  Actually pastor John Randall says it has something very important to say to us.

The Jewish customs in the apostle Paul’s day were quite a bit different than what we find in today’s culture.  For example, they couldn’t uncover their heads in public because it was dishonoring to their husband.  While some skim over First Corinthians eleven thinking it’s not applicable due to cultural differences, we don’t want you to miss the lessons contained here that are timeless.  Pastor John Randall is about to point to the order and structure that God has designed for the church today.

Should I watch that show on TV or see this latest movie that hit the big screen?  Should I post a particular photo or message on social media? You can probably think of a number of questions you wrestle with from time to time similar to these.  As believers, we know that we have an incredible amount of freedom. But there are some things that while they may be permissible, have the potential to stumble a brother or sister in the Lord or even mislead an unbeliever!  Today pastor John Randall will help us deal with those grey areas in our daily walk.

The city of Corinth was engaged in idolatry big time. There were also several pagan temples in the city and each one was quite popular. You can see why the apostle Paul felt it was so important to get the message of Christ to these people, that their hopes shouldn’t be placed in things made by the hands of men, but rather in the hands of the One who made men. Today we learn that Christian liberty doesn’t include the freedom to sin!

Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see that pride is a problem in the church today. We’re just as capable of falling into sin as the next guy!  And that’s why we need to lean on the Lord and draw on His grace. Pastor John Randall highlights the danger of overconfidence in this study based in First Corinthians!

You’ve no doubt heard the expression “If you want to stop digging the hole that you’re in put down the shovel.”  It’s sounds so simple and yet when it comes to life – why is it so hard for so many?  Pastor John Randall continues today in the book of Revelation today on a Daily Walk!   In chapter nine we hear of the future judgments coming to this earth and despite all the torment the people experience they still won’t change. They won’t put the shovel down. There’s a lesson there for us.

We continue our series in First Corinthians today.  In a culture full of moral depravity and sinful activities, the apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthian believers concerning the issue of temptation. His writings remind us today that yes everyone gets tempted, but God will always provide a way out for us.  We’re about to look at the dangers of overconfidence, as the apostle Paul looks back on Israel’s history.
