Mercy in Judgment, Part 1

December 26, 2018

“What can wash away my sin nothing but the blood of Jesus!”   Don’t you love that hymn?  The blood of Jesus, it’s one of the many things we thank God for as believers.  Even in heaven we’ll remember the blood of the Lamb.  Without it we wouldn’t be there and couldn’t be saved.   Today on a Daily Walk we focus on what is seen, and what is said in heaven.

See if this sounds familiar… you exchange some gifts with a family member or friend. And after opening them, you suddenly realize the gift you got them was nowhere near the much greater value of the gift you received.  It’s kind of embarrassing right?  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll discover that God has a gift exchange for you that will literally blow you away.  It’s lopsided to be sure, but you don’t have to feel bad about it.

On this Christmas Eve we’re really looking forward to sharing today’s special Christmas message from John Randall called, “The Gift Exchange.” We’ll be turning to a prophecy spoken in Isaiah 61 about the birth and ministry of Jesus.  What is the Christmas story all about?  The world today is confused about that, but this chapter in Isaiah really answers that for us.

If you’ve been studying along with us recently, as we’ve been going through Revelation, you’ll recall in chapter six we saw the vision of coming death and destruction, and in chapter eight another wave of judgment begins!  But in chapter seven we have a break in the action, and a question is asked. Will anyone be saved during this time of Tribulation?  The answer just may surprise you.
December 21, 2018
As we open Revelation chapter six, we’re about to focus on the Great Tribulation period. The section we’re looking at today can be described in one word: terror! The worst earthquake, the worst flood, the worst atomic explosion, none of them compare to what lies ahead for those who have rejected the Lord.  Along with this bad news is the good news that we don’t have to experience any of it, as long as we have given our lives over to Jesus Christ.

Especially around Christmas time, We tend to have a picture in our minds of a gentle Jesus, meek, mild and loving.  The book of Revelation depicts a different side of our Lord and Savior.  In chapters 6-19 we learn about the wrath of the lamb.   One day the judgment of God will come upon a Christ-rejecting world in the Tribulation period.

As we take you to Revelation chapter five we’re going to get a clear picture of what awaits us in Heaven, and what it’s going to be like there. Perhaps you’ve wondered about that?  We’ll find out today that the worship of Jesus is going to be amazing! He’s so worthy because of who He is and what He’s done.

As the apostle John is ushered up into heaven for a look around he described what he saw.  And today on a Daily Walk we’ll notice that he focuses on a scroll in the right hand of the Father.  The question is asked, "Who is worthy to take the scroll?"  And as we’ll discover today, the answer is Jesus, the lamb of God.

The central focus in Revelation chapter four is the throne of God.  Really all of creation revolves around the throne.  Jesus is Lord and in control, working all things together according to His will and good purposes.  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll focus on what’s coming from the throne, a preview of the judgement to come.
December 14, 2018
Just think of it, the apostle John had the great privilege of being taken into the heavenly realm.  We stand to benefit, as he described what he saw in Revelation.  Today in chapter four the focus is on the throne of God, who’s on it, what’s around it, and what’s coming from it too!

In many parts of the country the hot weather in the summer can be unbearable at times, but here in the Winter months not enough heat can be a problem.  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall continues his look at the Lord’s letter to the Laodiceans in Revelation three, verses fourteen through twenty-two. In this case, heat would be a good thing. The Lord wanted his churches to be on fire for the Gospel, but the Laodiceans were lukewarm. In many respects, this is worse than being completely cold, and we’ll find out why on today’s program.
