A Daily Walk

John Randall

Light or Darkness, Part 2

August 7, 2019

Today on a Daily Walk we visit a passage that confronts hypocrisy of the worst kind… religious hypocrisy. And if we’re wise we’ll look within to see if there’s even a trace of hypocrisy in our own lives.

We all have a clear choice to make. You are either with God, or against Him. There is absolutely no middle ground. Think about that important fact as we join pastor John for today’s study in Luke chapter eleven.

Right now, pastor John is studying the Gospel of Luke. In chapter eleven, Jesus casts a demon out of a person who couldn't speak. Through this lesson we’ll learn how to conquer and overcome the enemy through the power of God.

The war on terror gets a lot of attention these days, and it’s on many of our minds, but there’s another war going on today that you might not be so familiar with. It’s a war we fight every day whether we realize it or not, a spiritual war. Today we continue our series in Luke, by going to chapter eleven, as pastor John talks about spiritual warfare and how best to fight and win.

We’re about midway through a series in the gospel of Luke, and today pastor John Randall will again urge us to be persistent in our prayer life. God has promised us some very wonderful things when we pray, but those wonderful things are contingent upon us approaching Him with the right attitude and the right way.

Today, we’ll continue pastor John Randall’s series in Luke, and the focus remains on our prayer lives.  Do you ever feel like your prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling, and you’re not seeing an answer as quickly as you had hoped?   As we’ll see today we’re not to get in the habit of praying about something once or twice, wait for an answer and then forget about it!  God wants us to be persistent in prayer.

We’ll be giving our attention to the Lord’s Prayer here today on A Daily Walk, as we continue our study of Luke’s Gospel.  Jesus gives His disciples and us a model of how we are to pray.

These days we can communicate in a variety of ways with our loved ones!  Remember life before cell phones though?  While a lot has changed through the years in that regard, the way we access the Heavenly Father hasn’t changed.  We can talk to Him anytime, and anywhere.  Today we continue our verse by verse study in the Gospel of Luke.  We’ll spend our time in chapter eleven, in what’s been often referred to as the Lord’s Prayer.  It serves as a wonderful model for us to follow.

Imagine having Jesus over for dinner?  How do you think you’d react? We're about to learn the value of simply sitting at His feet and listening to Him.

Today on a Daily Walk we’re going to tell you about a dinner party from long ago, hosted by two sisters named Mary and Martha, and attended by Jesus. The different approaches the two sisters took to their special guest provides a good lesson for us on the importance of sitting at Jesus’ feet and listening to Him.

Today we focus on what Jesus has to say in His parable of the Good Samaritan.  I think you’ll quickly see how it relates to what we’re going through in the world as we know it, and on a more personal level too!
