Galatians 1:11-2:20

September 20, 2018

If you’re a Christian you have a testimony and the Lord can use it in powerful ways.   In Galatians chapter one we run across the Apostle Paul’s testimony.  We’ll notice who he was before he was saved, and can’t help but see the big difference after God got a hold of his life.

In many areas of life people put in the time and effort to achieve their goals. But when it comes to our salvation from sin and approval with God we need to realize we can’t earn it and we don’t deserve it.  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall visits the first ten verses of Galatians chapter one.  It’s a marvelous declaration of the grace of God.

Countless numbers of people today are living under the impression that they can somehow earn a spot in heaven.  But the book of Galatians makes it clear that salvation is not deserved but something God gives us.  It comes to us by grace through faith and that alone.

Today on a Daily Walk we aim to complete our study of Acts and as you’ll see it ends in a rather unique way.  Some have referred to this book as the Unfinished Symphony.  And pastor John Randall believes it to be very intentional as the story continues right on into the present day.

We’re about to open the twenty-eighth and final chapter of Acts today on a Daily Walk.  Paul finds himself now shipwrecked and on the island of Malta.  But God had promised him that he would make it to Rome, the voyage would resume, and not even a serpent could prevent that from happening!

Today on a Daily Walk we join pastor John Randall in Acts 27.  Paul is at sea and on his way to Rome with a couple hundred guys.  They encounter an enormous storm that lasted for fourteen days and end up on the island of Malta.  Pastor John is going to relate this to the storms we face in life!

You can be sure, even the most godly Christians will go through trials and storms!  It’s not always linked to wrongdoing or because God is somehow displeased with us.  With that said, there are some storms that are unnecessary and we create!  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall speaks about that and reveals how we get into that sort of a storm, and how we can get out!

Last time on a Daily Walk we left off in chapter twenty-six of Acts with Paul’s defense before King Agrippa and Festus the Roman governor. In presenting his defense Paul recounts his conversion experience and calling by God, to make him a minister and witness of Jesus.  We’re told all of this almost persuaded Agrippa to become a Christian.  Think about where you’re at today and allow the Lord to speak to you through His Word.

Whether it’s on a car dealer lot, or watching a compelling presentation by a vendor in a festival, no doubt you’ve almost been persuaded before.  You didn’t buy into it, but you were close!  In those cases it’s not such a big deal, but when it comes to spiritual matters it is!   Today on a Daily Walk we turn back to Acts where King Agrippa is almost persuaded to become a Christian.

Are you one of those that is always putting things off?  In some areas of life procrastination isn’t such a big deal, but putting off salvation is never a good idea because we’re not guaranteed tomorrow!  We’ll see a real life example of that as we turn back to Acts 24 here on a Daily Walk.

Today on a Daily Walk we head over to Acts twenty-three and twenty-four, and continue to hear Paul’s defense before the Jewish and Roman authorities. Paul has been accused of sedition but his only offense is preaching the gospel - that salvation comes not by the keeping of the Old Testament laws and sacrifices but by faith in Jesus Christ.
