Our verse by verse trek through the Gospel of Mark continues today on A Daily Walk.  Here on this Monday, pastor John Randall opens the fifth chapter and has us consider the remarkable power of Jesus.  It’s here that we read about a demon-possessed man who had incredible strength... so strong was he that not even shackles could subdue him.  It looked to be a hopeless condition, until he came into contact with Jesus, and everything changed.

At the end of Mark chapter four, the disciples find themselves in a big storm.  The lesson they would learn that day from Jesus, serves to help us encounter and endure the storms of life.  And there have been plenty this year, I’m sure you’d agree! Pastor John has noticed some mistakes believers often make when they hit, but he’ll also reassure us we will make it through by faith in Christ.

Pastor John Randall visits Mark chapter four, today on a Daily Walk.  And we’ll be looking at a couple of parables of Christ, that deal with the Kingdom of God.  Those of you into agriculture or gardening will no doubt appreciate these parables, as it’s right up your alley!

Virtually everywhere we go these days we see lights on display.  From Christmas lights on homes, businesses, and trees too!  But did you realize you have a responsibility as a Christian to be a light?  We’re to shine for Jesus, so that others may see the difference He makes in a human life and be drawn to Him. Today as we continue our series in Mark, Pastor John will have us consider the Lord’s words in chapter four, and the parable of the sower.

Throughout His earthly ministry Jesus used stories that His audience could identify with in order to help them understand a heavenly truth.  They’re called “parables”. We’re about to encounter one such parable today, and it’s one of the best known of all shared by the Lord.  The parable of the sower really is designed to get us to think about the condition of our own heart, so let’s do that together.

Remember back as a child picking for teams? Inevitably we’d choose the greatest athletes or most popular first.  But when Jesus chose His disciples He didn’t go by worldly standards. He picked some guys you might not expect! The group included fishermen, a religious zealot, a hated tax collector, and six others we know little about!  Just ordinary men, but they followed an extraordinary God.  Pastor John Randall is sharing a new series in Mark, and today on a Daily Walk we’ll again be in chapter three.  Let’s hear more about the guys Jesus handpicked to be His disciples.

Pastor John Randall will be resuming his verse by verse study of Mark on today’s program.  Join us in chapter three, as together we read about an encounter Jesus had with a man who had a withered hand.  He would restore him!  But pastor John also wonders, how many of us are in a withered condition right now in need of restoration?  Maybe it’s a withered marriage, or your emotional state is a real mess in the midst of the Pandemic?  Let’s be encouraged by what God wants to do in our lives!

When we have a problem we naturally want to try to come up with a solution.  But what do you do when it’s totally out of your control and you’re out of options?  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see that we’re all sinners and that’s a problem we can’t solve on our own.  Thankfully Jesus has solved our sin problem for us. He is a Savior for sinners.  Pastor John Randall will highlight that for us through a study in Mark chapter two.

Let’s say you’re being asked to put a team together at work, what do you typically look for?  Perhaps the best and brightest in the field, or most popular!  It’s interesting to observe who Jesus choose to be His disciples!  People you might not expect… fishermen and a tax collector just to name a few.  And that should encourage all of us, that no matter what our background, education or ability… God can still use us in a mighty way. Let’s look together at the calling of Matthew, today on a Daily Walk, as we join pastor John Randall in Mark chapter two.
