A Daily Walk

John Randall

Exodus 33-36, Part 2

May 24, 2018

In previous studies, we’ve noticed the detailed instructions that we’re given for the construction of the Tabernacle.  Now in chapters 34 and 35 it’s time to start the building project.  Like building projects of today, it necessitates the people of God giving to the work.  And as we’re about to see, the people responded with incredible generosity.

There’s no question that Satan loves to deceive.  He’s been at it since the Garden.  And we can expect that to only increase in the last days.  How do we combat these lies and avoid getting lead astray?  We’d like to recommend a book from Jack Hibbs called, “Living in the Daze of Deception.”  Foreward by Mike Pompeo.  This national bestseller is available right now to our a Daily Walk listeners for the cost of just ten dollars.

Pastor John Randall is leading us through Exodus chapter by chapter.  As we enter chapter 33, this is right on the heels of the Israelites sinning through their worship of the golden calf.  After you sin and fail the Lord, have you ever wondered if God will give you another chance?  He will... and then some, because He’s gracious.  But there are consequences for our actions as we’re about to discover.

In the Tabernacle, the Lord wanted all of the instruments that were used in worship to be anointed, as well as the people using the instruments!  Pastor John Randall doesn’t want us to miss the connection to ministry in all of this.

Here in the year 2018 communication with each other has never been quicker!  We can send a text message and get an answer back in seconds.  Or pick up the phone and talk with someone on the other side of the world!  While that is amazing, think of this… we can communicate with the God of the universe 24/7!  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall will shed some light on how the alter of incense represents prayer and the great privilege it is.

We open our Bibles to Exodus 28 and 29 today on a Daily Walk, and the Lord is in the middle of explaining to Moses what garments the priests were to put on.  You’ll soon see how this beautifully speaks of our high priest, Christ, and also encourages us in our walk with Him.

The more you study the Bible, the more you see how beautifully it all speaks of Christ.  That’s especially true in Exodus 26.  We’re going to take notice of picture after picture of Jesus Christ in the Tabernacle. And pastor John Randall also notices a brilliant picture of heaven here too!

Sex outside of marriage is portrayed in a glamorous way on tv and in the movies, but have you noticed they often leave something out, the consequences of such behavior!  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll hear God’s thoughts on the subject.  He knows what’s best for us, and isn’t trying to keep something good from us.

We have more laws than we can count in this land of ours, which serve to help maintain law and order.  And we need that.  Today in Exodus 21, God lays down a number of laws for His people to follow, knowing that they needed structure and guidance as well. Pastor John Randall points out how it all drives us to Christ.

We’ll be looking at Exodus chapter twenty today, where we find the Ten Commandments. It doesn’t take long to see that we’ve broken God’s law, but that’s intended to drive us to Christ.  We’ll learn that what we’re unable to do, God can accomplish in and through our lives by the power of His Holy Spirit.
