John Randall

Carnality in the Congregation, Part 2

April 8, 2020

Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall shows us why spiritual growth is to occur from new birth until we go to be with the Lord.  First Corinthians three speaks of those who could be classified as carnal Christians.  And if that’s you today, Pastor John will point to the hope that is found in this passage too.

Living in the Daze of Deception
There’s no question that Satan loves to deceive.  He’s been at it since the Garden.  And we can expect that to only increase in the last days.  How do we combat these lies and avoid getting lead astray?  We’d like to recommend a book from Jack Hibbs called, “Living in the Daze of Deception.”  Foreward by Mike Pompeo.  This national bestseller is available right now to our a Daily Walk listeners for the cost of just ten dollars.

Paul referred to the Corinthians as babies in the Christian life because they weren’t spiritually healthy and mature. They often argued like children over non-essentials and allowed petty divisions to distract them. Sadly, this kind of behavior still exists today.  Join us in First Corinthians three, where we find a rebuke of carnal Christianity.

Whether it’s on the athletic field or in the business world, when executives are putting a team together they typically look for the best and brightest!  But God doesn’t work that way.  He so often picks the foolish things of the world, the weak and powerless!  Why?  So He alone will get the glory!  That’s what we’ll be discussing today on a Daily Walk, as we return to First Corinthians one with John Randall!

We’ve never faced anything quite like what we’re dealing with today in our world.  And it would easy for us to question God at such times.  Maybe it appears to you as though He’s inactive, or you’re wondering why He would allow us to go through this!  As we’ll learn today on a Daily Walk that’s not unlike what the prophet Habakkuk was dealing with.  And while he started off worrying, he quickly moved to waiting on God and then to worshipping God.  Pastor John Randall would like to encourage us to do the same, in part two of his message, “Living by Faith.”

In the midst of a global pandemic, questions abound.  We wonder what’s going on, how long will it occur, and why is it happening.  Habakkuk had some questions of his own that I’m sure you’ll be able to relate to right now.  And today on a Daily Walk we’ll recall his story, which will encourage us to move from worry, to waiting on God, and then worship of God.

Maybe you’ve noticed, knowledge is on the increase.  But with all of our advances, the world is in a real mess!  Why is that?  We need to receive and live according to godly wisdom, not what the world has to offer.  And today’s study will really drive that home.

We can spend a lifetime accumulating knowledge and yet never experience real wisdom. That was never God's intention for us!  He wants us to have His Wisdom and embrace the message of the cross as we travel through life and we desperately need it.  That comes to our attention today.

We’ve all seen churches and families divide, even sometimes over the most insignificant matters.  But it’s God’s desire to see us unified, in spite of our differences.  Today, pastor John Randall continues a discussion about dealing with division.  We’ll hear how to avoid division, and what God thinks of it, and those who cause it too!

With all the various personalities, preferences, and convictions… we shouldn’t be surprised when there are differences and disagreement in the church.  While there’s certainly nothing wrong with having differing opinions… we can run into real problems when we take things a step further and an argument develops or worse yet division! Today on a Daily Walk pastor John shares the reason why it’s so important to have unity in the church.

Those of you who are in your 50’s or 60’s can no doubt look back over the last few decades and notice how evil and wicked behavior has increased.  It wasn’t long ago that we could turn on the TV and not have to worry about our kids hearing filthy speech or being exposed to sexual immorality.  How can we be an influence for good and take a stand for Christ in a pagan world like this?  We'll find out today on a Daily Walk.
