It has taken many seasons and a lot of quality time with Jesus to help me understand how to be present, enjoy the moment, and not waste a season. Yes, God has a time and purpose for everything—a truth that should bring us hope in both the joyous and the challenging seasons.

Winds may blow, and waves may crash, and that can be difficult to experience. But Jesus remains in the storm-riddled boat along with us. Given that, we have a choice as to what we focus on. We can focus on the wind and the waves and the furious squall erupting around us. Or we can focus on the presence of the Lord.

We, as parents, have the privilege to shepherd our children’s hearts so their hearts are kept for wisdom and the blessings that come from a life lived for God.

A God-sized answer is far weightier than man’s answer. And it’s worth waiting for…To love someone enough to allow them to walk out their faith, to learn vital lessons along the way, and to still stand by them with faith is an act of patience and kindness.

Are you longing for peace in your soul right now, in this very season? A season where all that seems to be surrounding you is moving way too fast or throwing you for loops and tossing you into constant clutter or confusion? I feel the fluster of chaos these days myself.

Anyone who is married knows the struggle is real. Enduring love in marriage seems harder to find and maintain in our world today.

Today, we are going to take our sorrows to our Savior. We are going to ask bold things of Him and call on Him with His Word. May we remember that He hears us, He cares for us, and He is working even when we cannot see what He is accomplishing.

What cuts you off from the Holy Spirit? Is there something in your life that dampens your experience of the Spirit’s power? Jesus desires to breathe the Spirit into the lives of all his followers, but we need to be open to the Spirit’s presence. Internally, we need to be receptive to the Spirit and open to the Spirit’s work.

If you got the call you hoped never to get, remember Jesus invites us to ask him for everything we need. Cry out for healing, ask him to be present in the midst of the suffering, and remember he is worthy of our praise even when the news is not what we hoped for.

How do we sleep when our body and mind tell us that we are about to die? My friends, I have been here more times than I’d like to admit. With this, I have learned strategies to fall asleep again, as well as prayer that releases stress.
