God has a purpose and a season for everything. Perhaps this is a season for you to learn how to move on to welcome new people into your life. He will give you the grace, the power, and the strength to let go and to receive the new friends He brings along your path.
Friend, the truth is that life will be filled with tumultuous highs and lows, which is a certainty, but God promises to see us through and provide us wisdom when we come to Him in prayer. That is so comforting!
It’s in the overloaded, weighed-down moments we all must remember to place our trust in God. He knew this was all going to happen. He did. He also knows what’s going to happen next. And he knows, ultimately, all things work for the good of those who love him.
Being so excited about one thing that hasn’t come to fruition yet has made me less excited about other areas of my life, too. I stopped being excited about life, and in a sense, I stopped living.
Friends, when we look to him in our weakness, he certainly does show up. He may not necessarily resolve your own personal weakness by empowering you with strength in the way you are hoping, though he might. But, many times it will be through the aid of another of his children.
Did you know sheep need to be directed to good pasture and must be moved to new pasture after they’ve exhausted the nutrients in the current field? They can’t find the best pasture without direction, and they would overstay if their shepherd didn’t intervene. God moves us to new pastures when needed, but in our stubbornness, we sometimes resist.
The older I get, the more dependent I become on my quiet morning conversations with God through prayer and His Word. As the decades drift by and my daughters grow up, I cling to His promises of hope, joy, peace, and wisdom. He is faithful in replacing my scattered thoughts and schedules with His grand plan for the day and my life.
There are some parts of this life I truly believe God didn't intend for us to have figured out. I assume you know what I mean; we all have those 100 questions we'd love to ask God.
Our God is not a wasteful God; He is a purposeful God. Just as the wilderness was Jesus’ launching pad, what if it is ours too?
