Through Storms and Snakes, Part 3

October 17, 2014
As the flame of a fiery trial heats up a Christians life... a non-believer can be found near by watching how the Christian will react.  It's in these hard times that a Christian's witness has the most effect on a non-believers life.  Today on Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff concludes a study called "Through Storms & Snakes" and reminds us that trials are a great opportunity to reveal the genuineness of our faith.

Satan's agenda is revealed in 1 Peter 5:8.  It says "your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."  Knowing this we should be alert against our enemy and stand upon God's Word which is able to get us through any situation.  Pastor Jeff will teach more on this in a message called "Through Storms & Snakes."

The Bible says "Rejoice always.  Pray without ceasing.  And in everything give thanks:  For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."  James also builds on this thought when he says "count it all joy when you fall into various trials."  But can a Christian really have joy in the middle of hardships?  Pastor Jeff will give us practical and insightful application today on Sound Doctrine.

Romans 8:28 famously declares that "all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  And although it may be hard to see within the storms of life, we can stand firm upon God's promises towards His children.

In past and modern history, there have been countless men and women of God who have suffered greatly.  We read about the account of Job who lost everything he owned, and yet Job blessed and worshiped God.  We could study the life of the Apostle Paul who endured times of testing and sufferings.  But he said "I would rather boast in my infirmites so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."  Today Pastor Jeff will explain the reason for trials and tribulations in the life of the believer.
