This is a very critical time for US — Israel relations.

At the very heart of this is the issue of a divided Jerusalem.  As you know, the United States has increased pressure on Israel to halt development of a housing in one part of the city.  The fact is that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and must never be divided.

There are those who are pushing for peace by dividing Jerusalem.  That’s right.  As part of a continuing peace process, there’s increasing talk that Jerusalem would be split — with part of this Holy City being controlled by the Palestinian Authority — a move that many believe would put Israel at further risk from terrorists.

The pursuit of peace is necessary — but not at the price of dividing Jerusalem.  Even an American Jewish group is calling on Secretary of State Clinton to apologize to her former constituents when she was a U.S. Senator from New York claiming she misled them by falsely professing support for an undivided Jerusalem as Israel's capital — a position the group says she has since abandoned.   You can read more about that issue here.

At the same time, there's growing concern at the United Nations where there are now reports that the United States may actually abstain from voting on a possible U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israel's construction project in east Jerusalem.  While the U.S. usually blocks any condemning resolution aimed at Israel, there's a report that if the U.S. abstains it could very well result in the passage of this anti-Israel resolution.  You can learn more here

Further, the U.N. continues to put pressure on Israel in an attempt to classify its self-defending actions against terrorism in the West Bank last year as 'war crimes' — something that is truly absurd.  In fact, I am appearing before the International Criminal Court (ICC) — Office of the Prosecutor — this week opposing an attempt by the Palestinian Authority to have the ICC take jurisdiction against Israel for alleged 'war crimes.' This is a dangerous move which puts the West at risk. Self defense is not a war crime.

There are many challenges facing the nation of Israel right now — and that's why it is critical to stand with our most  trusted ally.

Please add your name to our Petition for a United Jerusalem. Send a message to the White House — to the United Nations — and to the nation of Israel. Israel is our friend. Israel is our ally. It is time to stand with Israel now.

We'll bring you additional developments on this on our daily radio broadcast, Jay Sekulow Live!
