What is our vision for the church today? Are we praying for revival to set the church on fire and spread into all the world? We should be. This is God's desire. We should pray to that end. Instead of prophecy conferences to discuss the latest rapture theories, we should be holding great prayer meetings for revival. Are we prophets of doom or escapist theologians looking only for a rapture to take us away to bliss or are we storming the windows of heaven to send a great revival upon us. Which shall it be? Do we no longer believe in the glorious days of the church as our forefathers in the faith so clearly saw so long ago? Have we thrown in the towel and surrendered the church to Satan as far as this age is concerned? I pray that we haven't and that we will get a new vision for the church in this age.

Today, we as a nation are approving of sexual sins that former more righteous generations in this land thought were wrong. God's warning judgements are falling on this nation because of our sexual sins. The nation is headed toward sure and certain great judgement if we do not repent of such sins. Today, we think lightly of thngs that God abhors. If we continue to have that attitude as a society, we will face the consequences.

Jeremiah preached to the people of his day and warned them with a message from God. Today, we need to listen to that same message and hear the voice of God to our land. Only a great revival will save the nation from utter destruction and judgement. We have departed the ancient paths. We have deserted the way of our forefathers and sought our own way. In doing so, we will reap the wages of our sins lest we soon repent as a people.

The Lord will yet bless the Jews. The Old Testament Prophets looked far ahead and saw blessings for the Jewish people. Their prophecies are not always that precise but give a genearal prophecy of future blessing. Some of this blessing came with the beginning of the New Testament Church. Much more of this blessing is yet to come. The Jews were blessed when Jesus came and the New Testament Church was inauguarated. The gospel went first to the Jews. Yet, that was not the end of the story. More blessing is yet to come.

Jesus Christ is the ruler who brings peace to the nations. The Prince of Peace rules this world not Satan. Christ is on the throne in heaven, not Satan. Christ is the victor, not Satan. Today, we listen to the Prophets of Doom and the Escapist theologians prophesy of the coming doom and rebellion and of the need for the Christians to escape this world and turn it over to Satan and to let him have his way. Yet, this was not the message of the prophets of old. Their message was of a victorious ruler who would come and bring peace to this world and age. We believe that the battle is not lost for this age. Jesus Christ will yet reign and be victorious and His kingdom will prevail. This is our faith and this is what we preach.

The gospel would go forth from Jerusalem into all the world. Jesus came and set up His kingdom in the world. That kingdom is still here after 2,000 years and it is still on the march. Satan's kingdom will not be able to stand up against it. People from all nations will come into the Kingdom of God and this kingdom will prevail over all the world. This is the message of the Old Testament prophets. We must believe it.

Zechariah prophesied not just about this second earthly temple but a much greater temple that the Messiah would build. That temple is now in progress and continues to be built. The church needs to concentrate on and participate in the building of this temple to make it a shining light throughout the world. So often today, Christians are caught up in seeking the rebuilding of an earthly temple that they lose sight of the temple that is already in progress. We need to participate more in the building of Christ's church here in this world that it may be glorious and shine brighter and brighter in the years to come.

Jesus removed our sin on a single day. Jesus won the victory on the cross. He purchased our redemption. He redeemed us from Satan's Kingdom. Now, He sends forth His servants into all the world to announce that great victory and to call people the world over into the Kingdom of God. Jesus made this announcement when he began his earthly ministry and it is still in effect - "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." (Mark 1:15) That message is for you today. Repent and believe the gospel for the Kingdom of God has come.
