Jesus Coming in His Kingdom

July 11, 2020

Jesus plainly told his audience that some of the ones standing before him would not taste death before they would see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. In other words, it would be in their lifetime. Jesus would come in His kingdom in their lifetime. That was in the first century. That is past not future. So, we can say for certain based on this verse that Jesus has already come in His kingdom and He did it in the first century during the lifetime of many who were hearing Him speak.

Jesus Christ will return in glory. Today, many scoff at His coming and don't believe in it. Some have greatly erred by trying to precict the time of His coming. None of this matters. The fact is that He will return and when He returns, He will return in glory. Those who remain in unbelief will be judged and punished. Those who believe and persevere in their faith will be rewarded. The Lord will return.

God's blessings will not go on indefinitely. They can easily be withdrawn when God chooses. We are reaching a point when the blessings upon the nation are beginning to depart unless we as a people repent and turn back to God

Believers will be raised on the Last Day. Jesus makes a simple statement. He doesn't come up with some complicated scheme for the last days but simply assures the believer that he will be raised at the Last Day. The early creeds of the church simply looked forward  to the end of the world and the resurrection of the dead at Christ's coming. He will come again but it will not be until the Last Day. History has to play itself out according to God's Plan and then the end will come.

Man by nature is in a sinful condition. Though men may deny it, the evidence is clear. Sin abounds everywhere. Though not all men deny it, the evidence is clear. Sin abounds everywhere. Though not all men are as sinful as they could be, sin raises its head in every part of the society. God restrains the sinfulness of men. Yet enough sin breaks out to let us know that there is somethng wrong with the human race,

The new birth is required for salvation. No one can give themselves the new birth. It only comes by the Spirit and Word. When the Holy Spirit comes in power throughj the preached Word, people are born again. Today, this is what we need. We need a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in this land that people might be born again. We are not born again by anything that we do ourselves. It is something that has its origin in God and comes from God. New births will come only when God sends them to us by His Spirit and Word working in our hearts.

Today we are dishonoring marriage at an alarming rate. Marriage is an institution of God. When we dishonor marriage as God intended we are dishonoring God. Any nation that dishonors God cannot expect His blessings.

There will be a great reunion at the Lord's Coming. We can look forward to that day with great anticipation and longing. We can look forward to that great reunion with our loved ones on that Day. Yet, we must not forsake our mission in this age and give up the world to the Devil. That was not what Jesus left us here for. We have a mission and that mission is not yet over. Let's consider today the majesty and hope of the coming of the Lord.

Nations are accountable to God for their actions. God will hold nations accountable for their sins. If they do not repent, He will punish them. He sends warning judgments that they might be wise and take heed. We do wrong when we discount all calamities as nothing but acts of nature. We exalt secondary causes and totally ignore the sovereignty of Almighty God in these calamities that come upon a nation. This is wrong. We need to recognize that nations are accountable to God including our own.

When the Holy Spirit comes, the Bible will be respected and believed. Belief and respect for the Bible by our society will return when God pours out His Holy Spirit on this nation in power. At the present time, this is not happening and the nation lies on the brink of great judgment for its sins. Other nations are being judged and we are not exempt from such judgment. Yet, if and when revival comes, things will change. We must pray that God will have mercy on this land and send the Holy Spirit in great power. When He comes, He will lead unto all truth. He will point the nation back to the Bible which is God's Truth.

It is true and certain that we will stand before the Judgment Seat of God one day. No one will be exempt. We will all be there. The problem today in this nation is that so many people live as if there were no Judgment Day. They probably don't even believe in a Judgment Day. We need a nation that lives in the fear of God. We can only pray that our nation will turn around from its present course and return to God. That's our only hope. Until we as a people wake up and recognize that there is a Judgment Day, we have little hope. Yet, our prayer is that the nation will wake up and that God will send another Great Awakening to this land like He did before
