Dr. Rob Lindsted joins Josh Davis to discuss current events and Bible prophecy on today's program. Join Dr. Lindsted, Josh, and several others at this weekend's Prophecy in the News Live event in Bel Aire, Kansas.

Josh Davis: Greetings, friends. We're joined again today by Dr. Rob Lindsted as we look at how the convergence of the signs of the times are coming together and we're seeing all these different things emerge. Whether you look at the Middle East, whether you look at the lukewarm church and signs of growing apostasy, whether you see the fever in Israel to rebuild a temple, to establish worship, and of course, Jesus spoke about that in Matthew 24.

Daniel spoke about that in Daniel chapter 9 where the Antichrist will stand in the temple. And we can obviously infer that there is going to be a tribulation temple built. And so, we're going to be discussing all these kinds of things on today's episode, and we want you to stay tuned. Dr. Rob, it's wonderful to be with you again.

Dr. Rob Lindsted: Yeah, thank you. I enjoyed our visit yesterday, and I'm just hoping that some of the people say, "Yeah, I want to attend this in person," because I also go to conferences. Sometimes I watch them, sometimes I attend, and I just know that if I'm ever able to come in person, it seems like I absorb the information being presented a little bit better.

And so, I've got some charts that I think are going to be really helpful. I've taken them from my book, "What’s Next on God's Calendar: Six Events." They're in color, they're free, they show you where each of these major events are: the rapture, the seven-year tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon, when the millennial kingdom begins, and what's the purpose of it. And the great white throne judgment, the new heaven and new earth.

All these things are on this chart that are free. They're going to complement each one of the sessions that we got because, yes, we talked a lot about the Middle East. I got so excited about the Middle East; that dominated what we talked about. But I'm also seeing indicators that we're living in the last days because of the church. The Bible talked about people would be denying the faith and we'd see apostasy inside the church.

And when we see, I just looked at a religious leader and they said we need a third testament. What in the world? Yeah, they said because the first two have failed. I thought, "My goodness." And people are swallowing this. And she said we've got to get a testament that'll be more relevant. My friend, the Bible is as up-to-date as it can be. It's the sure foundation.

And so I see people and I think, "Okay, is anyone else reacting?" No one else is reacting. I don't go to a big megachurch. I'm not opposed to a big megachurch, but I want one that's on fire for God. I look at their Easter service things and it was, "Hey, every kid's going to get an egg. Hey, everyone's going to have a strawberry-covered donut." Yeah, that's fine, but the message that we have, how to live in the last days, that's what we want to emphasize.

And I think there's got to be dozens, hundreds of people out there that say, "You know what? This is what I need. I need to know that if I'm the only one in my church that's going to stand up for God and say that's evil, that's good, that's biblical, that's not biblical, then God give me the courage to do it." And I like what the early church did. In the Book of Acts, when they prayed to God, they didn't pray for deliverance. In chapter 4, they prayed for boldness.

And that's what I'm praying, that God will give me boldness. I need to be willing to say, "Hey, what this religious leader's saying is wrong." Let me give you another example, and this one, they're probably going to pull us off the air just right now. But a very famous guy is Kirk Cameron. He's done a lot of good things in terms of the gospel. But recently he came out and said, "Well, hell's not eternal."

What in the world? The Bible uses the word eternal fire, eternal flames. And so, one of the speakers, Jeff Tischler, is going to be there, and he has a new book called "Two Men and Two Destinies" from the Luke 16 story. Not parable, story. Because, you know, a lot of places aren't preaching on hell anymore. And so here was Kirk Cameron, probably a nice guy, but he says, "Well, hell is inconsistent with the nature and character of God." No.

Hell is designed by God for those who refuse Him. It's for the devil and his angels. And God's going to include those who refuse Him. The Bible does present hell as something that's torture, that's something that's forever, not annihilation. And so, this is why I say sometimes we have to say, "You know what? I've got to stand where the Bible stands."

Well, Jeff Tischler is such an interesting guy. He's one of the chaplains at Cook County Jail. So in his Bible, he has people that have committed murders, multiple murders. He does Bible studies with them, and he's led some of these people to the Lord. And he's written an excellent little booklet. It's not a big book; you can read it in 15 minutes on the fact that hell is a real place. It is eternal punishment.

And wow, it's so nice. I hand it out when I go to eat at restaurants. I hand it out when I go to Sam's. I hand it out. Because why? People need to know. I ask people, I said, "Hey, do you believe in heaven?" Most people say, "Well, yeah." I said, "Well, what about hell? That has to exist." I said, "Well, when you read this book, you're going to believe in hell, and you're not going to want to go there."

So Jeff Tischler's going to do one of his sessions on that. But what Jeff really is an excellent speaker on is on creation. And he's written several books on creation. I've had him as a guest speaker for our high school kids. And you know, if you can keep interest for high school kids, well, that's pretty unique. He's got a new book. It's called "Believe It or Not." It's about plants and animals, and it shows the incredible design and complexity that is so delicate.

So incredible, that only a designer God creator could make it. It could never evolve. And this book just came out, filled with pictures. I mean, it's everything from the squid to the octopus to the sea cucumber is in there. I mean, this is the velvet worm is in there. I mean, you give this book to a kid and you just better mark them off for a couple hours because they're not going to put it down. And so what an excellent way to present creation.

You see, in these last days, Josh, I'm sure you've noticed that it seems like they pick on the front of the book and the back of the book. They pick on creation and they pick on prophecy. And I want to defend both because biblical creation is just as important as biblical conclusion to the whole story on Earth. And so people are just going to thrill. And he's got some wonderful videos, he's got some incredible pictures, and people are just going to really enjoy Jeff.

He's from Chicago. He lives in an area that, well, recently when there was a shooting, the bullet actually wedged into the place where he was working and into a car there. But Jeff feels like that's his mission field. And so you're going to meet the real McCoy when people meet Jeff Tischler and his speaking.

Josh Davis: That's wonderful. Yes, I'm looking forward to meeting him as well. And I'm glad that he is speaking on the reality of hell, and you can see the eternality of that throughout many, many verses in the scriptures, even from the lips of Jesus. I think about even in the Book of Revelation when it talks about the beast, the false prophet, and the Antichrist are thrown into the lake of fire.

A thousand years later, Satan is cast into the lake of fire, and it says where the beast and the false prophet are, present tense, and they are still there a thousand years later. And so we know that they don't cease to exist, that that judgment is an eternal judgment. And I know that you have the same heart as I do. We don't gleefully talk about hell and, "Oh, I can't wait until people go there." No, that's not God's heart.

We know God isn't willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, as it says in 2 Peter chapter 3, verse 9. And that's what the mission of the church is today. And to circle back where we started with the lukewarm church, it's sad to see so many churches that are refusing to preach the gospel, refusing to tell people the truth of God's Word, refusing to teach on correctly understanding His Word.

And when it comes to Bible prophecy, when it comes to creation, they have just gone with the world instead of sticking with the Word of God. I was recently talking to some people that were saying that they went to a funeral. The family member had passed away, and before she died, she gave strict instructions to her pastor, "Please preach the gospel. I'm going to have some unsaved family here."

And they said, "You should have heard the message that the pastor preached." She said he just never, ever could give a clear presentation of the gospel. Just talked about what a nice person that she was and that she was part of the church, but just never could come around to giving the gospel message. And they were so disappointed that he couldn't clearly articulate the gospel in that moment.

And so we see that our churches are going this way, and that lines up with Bible prophecy. In the last days, perilous times will come because men will be lovers of their own selves. There's so much more that we can talk about and discuss. And friends, we're going to be having a weekend-long conference. It's all day Friday, all day Saturday, May 1st and 2nd. And to me, Dr. Rob, that's one of the highlights of going to conferences is the friendships, the fellowship, the further thinking and explaining that often happens in between those sessions. So Dr. Rob, pick back up on our conversation and let's highlight some more of the things that people are going to hear at the conference and some of the prophetic timeline that we see emerging in our day.

Dr. Rob Lindsted: Yeah, Mark Lindsted, my nephew, has been traveling with me for the last couple years. He's done several of our trips to Israel. I think he's even taken Southwest Radio church. Yeah, we did that last year and we're going to be doing it again this year, Lord willing. So I've been over 70 times, I think 72 times to Israel. Mark, I think, is at number 9 or 15, something like that, but he loves traveling.

And as a result of that, he's done a lot of research on the location of the third temple. Or I say the tabernacle, because I'm not so sure that the building that's going to be erected in the tribulation isn't going to be a temporary one. I think it's going to be put up very quickly. But the location, when we begin to examine what we have historically, both from Abraham and Isaac and from the threshing floor of Ornan.

And then we go on the Temple Mount today and we see the location of, let's say, the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque and all these things. Wow, Mark has just done a great job of putting this together step-by-step. And he's going to do a whole session on where the third temple, I think, is likely going to be. It's very different than a lot of people think. So many people think that we got to remove the Dome of the Rock.

Well, as you know, always before we thought that Jerusalem was safe from missiles. I was there this last summer for 12 days, and we watched missiles fly to Tel Aviv and other places, but they avoided Jerusalem. Isn't it interesting when the leadership of Iran thought that they were done, that they were completely exterminated? Three missiles have now landed close to Jerusalem and even one on the entryway that goes up to the Temple Mount.

And so it's always been a protected place. Well, there's a good reason because Islam claims something about it, Christians claim that it's just west of the Mount of Olives through the Kidron Valley, but the Jews hold it as a sacred place where sacrifices were. And by the time Mark's done, he's going to even show you one of the reasons why we believe that Calvary, or called Golgotha or the place of the skull, is just part of this Mount, Temple Mount, the northern part.

Not only that, why is it called Skull Hill? Some people think it's because of the design in rock, and that's one of the reasons. It does look like a skull, does look like a skeleton face. But there was another reason, and that's because so many crucifixions were done there, and people that were crucified usually didn't have family that would claim them. So they wouldn't be buried. They wouldn't have a normal burial in an ossuary.

These were murders, these were people that were thieves and vagabonds and transients. And so they would take their bodies off the cross, they would throw them there, and actually there was a bunch of skulls there. And it became known as Skull Hill, a perfect place for crucifixions. Well, that even helps us locate where this new temple would be. So so many things will be put together, and so you're going to be like a detective.

You're going to take historical clues, archaeological clues, political clues, biblical clues, and wow, Mark's going to do a great job. A new book is coming out on that. It's not quite ready, but the research is done and you're going to enjoy that. And then another thing I hope Mark has the time to do is to talk about the perspective, the future perspective, let's say, end-time scenario for Jews, for Muslims, for Christians. How is it different?

And when you see the difference, then you realize, wow, how come they're so different? Well, it has to do with where you place Jesus Christ. And so I think that's going to be an important session. So, man, there's so many good sessions coming up, and I'm looking forward to yours on the before the rapture, why are we looking for Christ to come before the rapture. Josh, nothing in the Bible in terms of warning for the church is the fact that He said, "I will not bring you through the wrath."

On the cross, Jesus went through the wrath for me, for you, for everyone saved. He's not going to bring us through the wrath again, and the wrath is that tribulation. So I want to go back to what you said just a minute ago. Why do we have a conference like this? One is encouragement. You're going to find people that believe with passion the Bible in its literal interpretation.

That's important because we have people explaining away that we have people spending more time explaining away the Bible than believing the Bible. So one, I think, is encouragement. Next is going to be you're going to get information and knowledge that's going to help you live properly. You know, we can only live properly when we understand what God expects us to do, and what God expects us to do is to live based on His Word.

The point is to give you information, to give you the knowledge to say, "This is what the Bible says, this is what it means." Now, the next thing is we want to be doers of the Word. We want to encourage you to not just sit there and make a notebook. I love it when you take notes, but the Bible said be doers of the Word and not hearers only, because you deceive your own self.

You begin to think, "Well, I'm pretty spiritual because I've been to two conferences. I've got a whole I got six pages of notes." No, be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own self. And I think today, sometimes we deceive ourselves because we think, "Okay, we understand God's plan. We got it from the Bible." But now, how do we make it practical? How do we put it into our life? How do we put it into sharing with others?

And I find these conferences really valuable, so encouraging, so informative, and then so practical. And so here's how we can do it. Some of that is with the literature that we'll bring. Some of the literature's free, some you can purchase. But a support group, like-minded people. And I'm looking forward to seeing some of the people we've had the last couple years because we kind of developed a friendship at the conference.

And we found out, "Wow, you know, we think we're the only ones going through these particular doctrinal problems." We find out no, there's people in Minneapolis, there's people in Oklahoma, there's people in Arkansas, they're experiencing these same things. And so we come together, we encourage one another as we study God's Word. It's a blessed time, and I look forward to it. I know I get to be a part of it, but I look forward to it to again see some of the believers that we've made friends with over the last several years.

Josh Davis: Yeah, I was just thinking as you were describing the importance of the practical side of things and the application. You know, D.L. Moody, the famous preacher from the past there in Chicago, he said that the Bible wasn't given for our information, but for our transformation. And when you rightly divide God's Word, when you properly understand Bible prophecy, I believe that the views that we hold and the kinds of things that you describe in your book, "What’s Next on God's Calendar," and all these various things.

When you properly understand it, you're going to live a proper life. You're going to live with anticipation. You're going to want to get the gospel out. We're not looking for the Antichrist to come onto the scene and we've got to somehow survive the wrath of God poured out on this world, but we've got to win souls in this day before the rapture call comes. And we can have the proper perspective on all these things.

Dr. Rob Lindsted: Yeah, I do, because, you know, as I think about this special time that we've got outlined for us, as I watch the news and I'm a news junkie, I watch a lot of news, try to correlate it with the Bible. And I know sometimes my wife says, "Why don't you just turn that off? It's just always discouraging." And I thought, "Yeah, here's the problem. The world, they can see the situation. They can see the situation in Iran.

They can see the situation with the DEI and all the craziness going on, but they don't have an answer. But Josh, we have an answer. That answer is in the Word of God. And so, you know, Jesus said, "I'm the way, I'm the truth, I'm the life." Now, there's not a person that doesn't want to go the right way. Jesus is the way. There's not a person that doesn't want life versus death. Satan's the author of death.

And it all comes from truth. Satan's a liar. Everything Satan puts out has a lie somewhere hidden in it. So here's Jesus. He's the way, He's the truth, He's the life. The very thing that people want to give them direction, the very thing that people want to give them hope today is found in God's Word and found in the person of Christ. At this conference, yeah, we're going to be talking about current events.

We're going to be talking about creation, we're going to be talking about important doctrines, but most of all we're going to be able to give you hope because Jesus Christ is the hope of the world.

Josh Davis: Yes, He is. I love what you just said there. The world can see the situation, but it can't see the solution. And we know that Jesus is that solution. Praise God for that.
