Southwest Radio Ministries: Jonathan Cahn is our guest. He's one of the great prophetic voices in our world today, and it is always such a delight to be with Jonathan. He's a man of God. He has a book, The Altar of Pergamon: The Mystery of the Dark Angel and the Future of the World. Jonathan, it is so good to have you with us again.

Jonathan Cahn: Great to be back, Larry, always.

Southwest Radio Ministries: You just do an amazing job in taking things that we see in the scripture and unfolding them, and we see how these things are manifesting today. I think that's an amazing thing, the way you handle that.

Jonathan Cahn: Thank you. By the grace of God. Only the grace of God.

Southwest Radio Ministries: Well, you're available. I've often said the greatest ability is availability. That's Jonathan Cahn. Let me start with this basic question: The Altar of Pergamon is being called the biggest mystery you've ever opened up. What does it reveal?

Jonathan Cahn: This is so colossal that this mystery has affected and altered the course of the world. It's behind everything in modern times, from the rise of Germany and Adolf Hitler to World War I, World War II, the Cold War, the rise of Marxism, and nuclear destruction. Everything goes back to this ancient mystery from the Bible where the Bible speaks about the throne of Satan, an ancient object.

The amazing thing is that this mystery has affected every one of our lives, no matter who you are on this planet. It almost ended the planet on one hand. It's behind the past, the present, and the future. The full title, The Altar of Pergamon, says "The Mystery of the Dark Angel and the Future of the World." It's also revealing what's happening from end-time prophecy as well.

I was led to do this the way I did The Harbinger. The mystery is real. I think we counted about 200 mysteries or revelations in The Altar of Pergamon, but it's revealed through a story like a thriller, so that it can reach people. It's especially for people in our lives who don't know the Lord but are interested in things like The Da Vinci Code or Indiana Jones. It's real, so I pray that it gets to those as well. There's a whole story, but that's really to unleash the mystery.

Southwest Radio Ministries: You certainly do a good job. Now, what does the mystery have to do with the throne of Satan?

Jonathan Cahn: In the Book of Revelation, it speaks of the throne of Satan. It actually says the throne of Satan is on earth in a place called Pergamon, where Satan dwells. In Isaiah 14, the prophet records Satan, or Lucifer, saying, "I will ascend. I will exalt my throne. I will set my throne. I will be like God. I will be like the Most High."

The amazing thing is that in Pergamon, there is a high place called the High Place of Pergamon. On that high place was what was called in the ancient world the Great Altar. It was a massive structure linked to the king of the gods, Zeus, but of course, Zeus is linked to Satan. That altar is the part of Pergamon that has gone on to this day, like a throne of Satan.

When the Gospel came into the Roman world, the people abandoned the pagan places, so they abandoned the altar or the throne of Satan. It was buried in the ruins for almost 2,000 years. It was almost like when the Gospel went forth, the power of Satan because of the Gospel was to that degree restrained. You didn't have paganism ruling the world. But what would happen if that ancient Altar of Pergamon or throne of Satan was uncovered and dug up?

The amazing thing is that's exactly what happened. A man came from across the world and stumbled on it. It sounds like a movie, like Indiana Jones but in reverse because it's real. He stumbles on it and begins to dig up the throne of Satan. When he does, all sorts of strange things start happening in the world to this day. That's the setup of the mystery.

Southwest Radio Ministries: What happened to the altar after ancient times?

Jonathan Cahn: The man who comes there is in the 19th century. The altar has been sitting there in the dust for almost 2,000 years. He stumbles on it, not sure what it is, and then he starts taking pieces from it and sends the pieces of the altar back to his native land. His land is Germany.

Now the throne of Satan is being joined to Germany. Think about what this is going to mean. People think Germany has been around like France and England, but Germany only came into existence in 1871. 1871 is when the altar returned to the world and when the pieces came to that land. As the altar comes back and touches Germany, Germany becomes Germany, and all this Germany is going to be used as it becomes the new capital of the throne of Satan. They're not just going to dig it up; they're going to start moving it.

Southwest Radio Ministries: What is the sign that appeared in the world along with the altar that portended things yet to come?

Jonathan Cahn: At the same moment that they start uncovering the throne of Satan, another German is in the same land—the Ottoman Empire, what we call today Turkey. He's on the same coast, the same shore, and he's digging up another place. As he digs up, he comes upon an ancient sign. Actually, he comes upon almost 2,000 of them. By that, this sign massively enters the world.

The sign was the swastika. As the throne of Satan is entering the world at the same moment and same year, the swastika enters the year through a German, and it's going to go to Germany. It's a sign of things to come.

Southwest Radio Ministries: When the altar was unearthed, there was an appointed word. What word was that?

Jonathan Cahn: In the ancient calendar of Israel, there's an appointed word for every Sabbath. Every Sabbath, the Jewish people open up the scrolls and read the word that's been appointed for that day or that week from ages past. When the guy who discovers the altar sends the pieces back, Germany says, "We're going to dig up this thing and move it to Germany."

They start digging it in 1878. They put the first shovels in the ground and start digging it. At that time, that week, there's an appointed scripture from the Bible being read all over the world. The scripture talks about an altar on a mountaintop, like the Altar of Pergamon, and it talks about an altar that is a cursed altar, an altar of curses.

As they're digging up the cursed altar, all over the world Jewish people open the scrolls and are saying it's appointed about the cursed altar. Interestingly, one of the curses that it says in that scripture for that time says to Israel, "Your enemy will come like an eagle. He will come swooping down on you." Interestingly, the altar is going to Germany, and Germany is digging it up, and the symbol of Germany is an eagle that's going to swoop down on the Jewish people.

Now, Jonathan, when they began moving the altar to Germany, what came into the world?

Jonathan Cahn: I pray people just get it for those in your lives who don't know the Lord. It's going to draw them in and lead to salvation. Germany begins uncovering the throne of Satan, puts it in crates, puts it on animals taking it down the high place, and puts it onto ships. They sail across to Europe, put it on trains, and bring the altar to Germany.

At the same moment that the altar comes, it's the throne of Satan, so what does the Bible say? Who does Satan hate? He hates believers and hates God, but he also hates the Jewish people. Look at Revelation 12; the dragon wars against the woman. Interestingly, the same moment that the altar starts coming to Germany, something is born in Germany. It's a new movement called antisemitism, born in Germany at the very moment the altar comes.

In fact, the word antisemitism didn't exist. It comes into existence in Germany at the moment the altar comes to Germany. Now you have a transformation starting in Germany, and it starts transforming it into something dark. Antisemitism starts spreading and becomes a political movement. It comes into the mainstream. Just as Germany comes into possession of the altar, the rage of the serpent, the rage of the dragon, starts infecting Germany and is going to take over the nation.

Jonathan, what happened to the altar in 1889 and in the world?

Jonathan Cahn: Germany wasn't just about taking the pieces of the altar, but what the plan was, was to rebuild the throne of Satan. They're not thinking they're rebuilding the throne of Satan, but they're thinking they're rebuilding this ancient altar. They start piecing the pieces together, and for the first time in 2,000 years, the pieces are together in 1889. That's the key moment it's all come together; it appears in the world.

At that moment, something happens. There is a woman who is a servant woman, and she gives birth, but the baby dies. She gives birth again, and the baby dies again. Finally, she has a baby that is born who lives, and he becomes her beloved. The baby's name is Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was born when the Altar of Pergamon came together. When the Altar of Pergamon came together, when it comes back into the world, Adolf Hitler comes into the world, and he will be linked to the altar his entire life.

Southwest Radio Ministries: You've done so much research. Your research proves that all of this has been orchestrated by Almighty God, and we see these things manifesting. You must be doing a lot of reading. I mean, you know all kinds of stuff about Hitler, about the world, about Turkey. I'm just fascinated and amazed, to tell you the truth.

Jonathan Cahn: Thank you. By God's grace. He just leads me. It happened at ground zero when He showed me about The Harbinger, and it's just been this process where He just shows me. I can't reproduce it. He just shows me by God's grace.

Southwest Radio Ministries: Praise the Lord. I just love the expression of how the Lord reveals these things to you. Indeed, you are a prophet of this day. You do such a wonderful job. Well, Jonathan, let's get down into something really important. How is the altar connected to global calamities like the First World War?

Jonathan Cahn: This has been behind virtually every major global calamity, the Altar of Pergamon, the throne of Satan. It's amazing from then to this day. Even world wars, think about it. The enemy is a destroyer, so what does he want? He wants destruction. The altar, what does an altar require? Sacrifice or blood. World War I began in 1914, but the seeds of World War I began in 1871, the very time the altar came to Germany. First of all, there was no Germany. Now you have Germany. You wouldn't have World War I without Germany.

Also, in 1878 they start moving the altar, digging it up, and moving it from the Ottoman Empire, Turkey, to Germany, to Berlin. At the same moment that Germany starts moving the altar, taking it away from the Ottoman Empire, the Ottoman Empire starts crumbling. It's like it loses its power and it starts losing its territories.

Germany is part of taking it away, and in the same exact year and just around the same month that they take the altar, they start taking the land of the Ottoman Empire. Which land? The Balkans. The Balkans are where, because they take it away, they start destabilizing Europe. Then in 1914, the Balkans, which were part of the kingdom that had the Altar of Satan but was taken away when it went to Germany, now they explode. The Balkans explode, and guess who comes into it? Germany and Turkey, all the nations that had the altar are beginning this whole World War. Even the World War and all the millions that died go back to the Altar of Pergamon; the seeds were sown then.

Southwest Radio Ministries: You write of a mystical organization called Thule or Thulie. What was it, and why is it significant?

Jonathan Cahn: The link between Turkey and Germany, these are the two lands that have the Altar of Pergamon. When you have something going from Turkey or Ottoman Empire to Germany, there's a satanic connection. Well, there was a German guy who goes to the Ottoman Empire, and there he starts getting involved in the occult of the Ottoman Empire. He starts getting all sorts of occultic stuff and he brings it from Turkey to Germany, just like the altar was brought to Germany from Turkey.

He starts an organization, an occult organization called the Thule Society. The Thule Society starts a party which becomes the Nazi Party. The Nazi Party was born of an occult society that came from Turkey, the connection of Turkey. One day, this guy Adolf Hitler walks into the room of this party that was born of this occultic society that came from Turkey like the altar, and the rest is history.

Southwest Radio Ministries: You speak of the possession of Germany. Now, what does that mean, and what does it have to do with the altar?

Jonathan Cahn: You have an altar, you have the throne of Satan. If you have a throne, you're going to have a kingdom. When the throne goes to Germany, Germany is going to become the kingdom of darkness. It's exactly going to happen. When you look at these films of you see the German people like going crazy for Hitler, that's satanic. It's like a people who are possessed.

The amazing thing is it starts when the altar comes, when the throne of Satan comes to Germany. You know what happens? There's an occult revival throughout Germany. The occult, witchcraft, and séances, people don't realize this. This is spreading through Germany up to Hitler. They're all getting into this darkness. So you have antisemitism beginning when the altar comes, you have the occult exploding when the altar comes, and the occult and antisemitism come together. This is the dragon.

The three centers of the occult revival were Austria where Vienna, Munich, and Berlin. Hitler's main life, you follow Hitler's life, he goes to Vienna and becomes an antisemite, he goes to Munich and starts with the Nazi Party, and then he goes to Berlin to take over Germany. So the whole thing is an occult possession, literally the enemy is possessing a nation.

Tell us about your prayer life. Tell us about your time with the Lord. I mean, that's where it all comes to you from God's throne.

Jonathan Cahn: I seek to be with the Lord all the time. We're in this running conversation all the time. I seek that, and a lot of this comes when I'm alone with God. I just trust Him to lead me. Lead me, Lord, lead me. You know everything; I don't know. Open it up. I know there's going to be a treasure here in the Bible. You open it up for me and just show me.

Southwest Radio Ministries: Jonathan, how is the altar connected to the rise of Adolf Hitler?

Jonathan Cahn: Germany decides to build a gigantic house, a palace museum for the altar. It starts rising in the 1920s. As it rises, someone else rises. Hitler rises, matching the altar. In 1928, the Nazis have a setback in the election; they win just two percent. But in 1930, they open the museum and they reveal the altar to the world after 2,000 years to the whole public.

In 1930, everything turns from Hitler. They go from two percent to the Nazis becoming the second-largest party suddenly. Then they become the first-largest, and then they take over Germany. So as the altar is being lifted up, so is Adolf Hitler. His whole life is born with the altar, and he's actually going to die with the altar.

Southwest Radio Ministries: When was the altar revealed to the world, and what did it mean?

Jonathan Cahn: It was revealed in the autumn of 1930. You know the day it was revealed? On Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Bible. That's the enemy. The enemy takes the things of God and he tries to desecrate them. Yom Kippur is about the altar of God, the atonement. Instead of that, the throne of Satan comes. Instead of saving the Jewish people every year from sin, instead of that, it's going to go to destroy the Jewish people. It's all there on that day.

Southwest Radio Ministries: Tell us about the mystery that appeared in Nuremberg, Germany.

Jonathan Cahn: Hitler comes to power. The altar is in Berlin, the throne of Satan, and Hitler's in Berlin. You've got a satanic king and a satanic kingdom. He says, "I want to have a podium to speak to the world." That's in Nuremberg. Whenever you see Hitler raging, he's in Nuremberg. That's where they had it.

He says, "I want something massive to stand on." He commissions his architect, Albert Speer. Albert Speer builds him this gigantic platform. When you see Hitler raging, he's on—you know what it was? His architect based the podium of Hitler on the Altar of Pergamon. Literally, he recreates the Altar of Pergamon. When you see Hitler standing in Nuremberg railing and raging, he's standing on the throne of Satan. He's invoking World War II, he's invoking everything else. He's actually standing on the throne of Satan, the messenger of evil.
