Headlines from the End Times

June 5, 2026
00:00

Turkey recently hosted military training exercises with 50 other countries, including some listed in the Ezekiel 38 coalition. Could the Iran War set the stage for a new Middle East power bloc? Plus, in a win, charges were dropped against a Northern Ireland woman convicted of praying inside an abortion safe access zone. Some 66 million face and fingerprint biometric entries have been logged since the European Entry and Exit System went live last October. Josh Davis details the prophetic significance of these converging Headlines from the End Times on today's Watchman on the Wall episode.

What in the world is going on? Let's find out from author and staff evangelist Josh Davis.

Greetings, fellow Watchmen on the Wall, and welcome to another Headlines from the End Times. We begin today by going to the Middle East. You know, the war with Iran has done a lot to cause students of Bible prophecy to think deeply about Iran's future in God's plans.

And of course, according to Ezekiel 38 and 39, the coalition that will come against Israel, we see Persia mentioned specifically in that passage. And of course, that connects to modern-day Iran. But it goes beyond that. I think this war in Iran has helped to reestablish or redefine the power structure in the Middle East.

And that's where we go with our first story today, coming from All Israel News, as they report how that Israel is watching the regional military shifts with growing concern. And that's true. Israel is closely monitoring a series of regional military and geopolitical developments that analysts suggest could reshape the balance of power in the Middle East, particularly as Turkey expands its influence and the United States signals growing fatigue with military involvement in the region.

Now, of course, going back to Ezekiel 38 and 39, Turkey is one of the key players. Many of the places mentioned in Ezekiel 38, those first few verses that delineate the main players in that coalition, if you study where those locations were at the time, you understand many of those places are in modern-day Turkey. And they're going to be a major player in that coalition.

And this story reveals how some of these things are already beginning to take shape. Some of the recent activities that have taken place that help to push this coalition forward. So a longstanding goal of the Turkish President Erdogan is to establish his country as the leading Islamist political, cultural, military power in the Middle East as a stepping stone toward resurrecting the Ottoman Empire.

That's well-documented, and that's something that has been a goal for many, many years. They want to be this bridge between Europe and the Middle East, Europe and the rest of the Eastern world. Well, in the largest-ever edition of Turkey's military exercise, they had a notable technology on display. There were many maneuvers demonstrated by their military.

Above all, the participation of nine countries for the very first time was a part of this military exercise. Countries including Syria for the very first time. And so this military exercise in Turkey took place between April 11th and May 22nd. They had land, sea, and air assets conducting drills both day and night in the country of Turkey.

Working with these some 50 different nations, and we'll talk about some more of that as we go through this story. But Turkey also displayed some of its growing defense and weapons capabilities. The media was invited to attend and view and report on some of these things during the last week of those exercises.

Again, a total of 50 countries participated in this event, including Syria, as I said, for the very first time, and interestingly, Libya. That's right, Libya, another one of those nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 and 39. And I'm sure that as you hear that, alarm bells go off when you hear about Libya being involved with Turkey in military exercises.

Let me give you some more details about what took place in Turkey during some of these military exercises. The contingent from Libya included 331 fighters from the country's eastern forces and 171 fighters from the western region, marching together under a single Libyan flag despite their lingering rivalry after years of civil war.

Now, Turkey has spent several years attempting to form a joint force from units on both sides of eastern and western Libya while providing training and logistical support. For the Israeli analysts, the Syrian participation may have been the most significant development.

Forces from the Al-Jolani regime in Syria were among the smallest delegations, only had 50 soldiers present in Turkey, but the contingent carries a lot of political and diplomatic weight far beyond just 50 soldiers, making it the first time forces from the newly formed Syrian National Army have operated outside of Syrian territory.

And that is very significant, friends. And the fact that they're doing so in the country of Turkey rather than with American leadership is being viewed as a signal about both the intentions and capabilities of this particular regime now in power in Syria.

So Israel is watching all of these developments really closely, and Al-Jolani's regime is viewed in Jerusalem as not unfriendly and potentially could be an ally against Hezbollah and the Iranian regime.

But Turkey under Erdogan is increasingly seen as deeply hostile and an opponent of Israel and Jerusalem, openly stating that he wants to liberate Jerusalem. Liberate from whom? Well, from Israel, of course. And that's what they are working towards with Turkey's growing influence, not only in the Middle East but also in Europe and in Africa.

It's viewed in Israel as increasingly worrying developments. Again, Bible prophecy students, Watchmen on the Wall, you understand the prominent place that Turkey will hold in the Ezekiel 38 and 39 coalition that comes together. Not just Turkey, but Persia, modern-day Iran. Libya is mentioned specifically in that. I find this so fascinating, friends.

And there's another dimension to this story outside of what's happening in the Middle East. It hits a lot closer to home for many of you, and that is the role of the United States in fighting Iran.

And we have seen over recent weeks and even recent months, going back even further, a push for this to be a quick fight. And the more it drags out, the longer it goes, it just seems that the fatigue from the United States of America continues to grow and grow and grow.

Now, as of the time that I am recording this, the report suggests that the US military is requesting some $29 billion. That's billion with a B from Congress to pay for this war with Iran. That's right, it's cost US taxpayers almost $30 billion, and quite frankly, that cost could go up.

Anonymously commenting on these conditions, a US intelligence analyst recently said, "The US doesn't want to be in the Middle East anymore, while Iran and Turkey both want to be the new sheriff in town. They might be willing to share it, or they might compete with each other, while Egypt, Saudi, and the rest make a deal with one or the other. Israel might be all alone soon."

And I found that statement to be so intriguing. Israel might be all alone soon. You better figure out something real fast. Israel might be all alone soon. What do you see in Ezekiel 38 and 39? Israel stands alone. No one rushes to her help when this coalition strikes.

I'm not date-setting. I do not date-set. I feel like that is a terrible, terrible practice. There are so many pitfalls involved with that, much less the fact that Jesus himself said those things. But I am helping you to understand how these pieces of the puzzle are coming together.

Israel will stand alone. By the way, just so I can give you a little bit more context, in my opinion, the Ezekiel 38 and 39 war will happen soon after the Rapture of the church.

And I think that when the church is raptured from the United States of America, whether you're Republican or Democrat, liberal, conservative, whatever, I think that fighting and turmoil is just going to break out when the church is no longer here in the United States of America. That moral framework will erode so quickly in the United States of America.

I don't think there will be a strong enough contingent to aid Israel at that particular time. We're seeing support for Israel wane even among so-called conservative voices here in the United States of America.

So if this battle does take place after the Rapture of the church, soon after the Rapture of the church, I don't see the United States rushing to Israel's side, just as Bible prophecy tells us will be the case. Israel will stand alone, like this US intelligence source has said. Israel could be in that shape soon after the Rapture of the church.

It's interesting to see how that Turkey, Libya, some of these nations are already conducting military training exercises together in our present day.

Now back to more headlines from the end times. Now, charges were dropped against a woman who prayed in an abortion censorship zone. We're going back to Northern Ireland. I recently spoke about a pastor who was jailed for preaching John 3:16 under this same exact law.

The prosecution case against a Christian mother in Northern Ireland collapsed during her trial hearing, where the prosecutors dropped major charges. Witnesses failed to show and evidence fell short of bringing a conviction.

This is good news, and we're grateful that this is moving in the right direction. The Christian Legal Centre, which is supporting Claire Brennan, announced in a press release that her name was cleared during the court hearing back at the end of May on charges of illegally influencing women near a hospital in 2025.

That's what she was convicted of. That's why she was arrested for what they called illegally influencing women near a hospital, and I would just call it an abortion facility. Let's call it what it is in 2025.

In an earlier case, Brennan had been convicted of violating, this is the law in Northern Ireland, it's called the Abortion Services Safe Access Zones Act of 2023. And that just basically puts up a perimeter, an invisible fence of at least 150 meters. That's imagine a 100-yard football field with both end zones, and you would have about the distance circular around an abortion facility.

And you cannot be inside of that zone trying to influence a young woman who is entering to get an abortion. Over 300 yards away inside that zone, you're in danger of being arrested. Well, that's exactly what happened to Mrs. Brennan in Northern Ireland.

She stood as the first person ever to be found guilty under this law that took effect in 2023. The statute effectively criminalized praying. Get that. She was a criminal because she prayed in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It effectively criminalizes not just prayer but pro-life religious engagement, providing pregnancy resources to women near abortion facilities. Now, according to reports, the law states that it is a crime to do anything in a safe access zone that might influence a person in their decision to attend an abortion clinic or which might prevent or impede access to the clinic, which might harass, alarm, or distress that person.

So our prayers can harass, alarm, and distress people who are entering abortion clinics. I suppose it could, and that's what they tried to bring against Mrs. Brennan.

And so in this case, she was accused of influencing people when she prayed and spoke to women within that restricted zone during encounters in September, October, and November of 2025. Three witnesses were scheduled to testify during this hearing. Two of them did not show up. So the court couldn't prove any wrongdoing against her, according to her legal team.

Her defense relied on articles within the European Convention on Human Rights that talk about freedom of religion, expression, and thought. She argued that consensual conversations, peaceful prayer, does not rise to the level of harassment, alarm, or distress and doesn't bring that upon another person. She was just there having conversations, talking to these young women and praying in that spot.

This mother of four called the ruling a huge relief not only for her but for everyone who believes that compassion should never be criminalized. We understand that the collapse of this case, according to her legal team, says that the collapse of this case exposes serious flaws in the enforcement of these so-called censorship zones.

She was engaged in peaceful, compassionate activity, praying and offering support to young women. Yet she faced criminal prosecution for living out her Christian faith, and I might add, in the public square.

It's okay if you're a Christian behind closed doors, according to some governments. But if you bring it out in the public square, no, no, no, that can land you in jail. That can land you in a courtroom according to some of these kinds of laws that are popping up around the world.

Getting back to what her legal team said, "These laws are having a chilling effect across Northern Ireland, criminalizing ordinary people who simply want to offer women real choice, including alternatives to abortion. No society committed to freedom can justify punishing prayer or quiet offers of help."

We also reported to you about the retired pastor from Northern Ireland criminally convicted under this same law for preaching John 3:16 in an outdoor Sunday service, and he just happened to be inside the zone.

Even though he never mentioned abortion or anything to that end, the judge ruled that he had been "motivated to influence anyone who heard him towards the Bible and the Christian message generally," and that he had tested the law to the point where he broke the law. That's the opinion of the judge in the retired pastor's case.

Well, we've talked before about the EES. That's the European Entry and Exit System that they have established, and it's been online for a few months now. And I reported a while back that they were having some difficult times trying to get this thing going in the right direction. Long lines at the airports, delays that caused certain families to miss their flights, trying to get in and out of the European Union has been a great difficulty for many people.

However, they report now, according to their own press releases talking about how things are going, 66 million border crossings have occurred in the first six months despite all the obstacles that they have faced.

So during the first six months of the operation of this biometric-based entry and exit system, this daily fingerprint check against the EU databases have risen from about 17,000 a day to nearly 90,000 checks every single day.

You see how astronomical those figures have risen. Of course, we could see anyone could look and see there's going to be major, major headaches with this rollout. But they're getting much more efficient with it.

I'm just trying to help you to see this could be one of those tools and in as our world gets more and more used to these kinds of things, and this particular system, what I found so fascinating about it and why I keep bringing it up to you, is that it checks your facial scan and your fingerprint scan. It is not, again I say, it is not the Mark of the Beast.

I'm not saying if you travel to Europe and you use this system, you've committed yourself to the Mark of the Beast. No. Read Revelation 13. You understand what the Mark of the Beast is. It's a spiritual allegiance first and foremost to the Antichrist system.

But tied with that is access to the beast system, the economy, his government, all the benefits, if you will, the blessings, if you will, of being a part of the Antichrist kingdom, which are not really blessings and benefits at all, quite the opposite, dear friends.

But you see how efficient these things are becoming. They're getting a lot of those kinks worked out of the system to where it can operate normally. And this is going to spread to other nations. It's already coming to the United States of America in many different ways, and we're seeing this happen across the world.

Facial scans being recognized, fingerprint scans being recognized, and growing in their efficiency of these kinds of things, especially as people sign in for the first time. And as they return to the European Union, it's a lot simpler for them. And they don't have to go through the sign-up process; they've already completed that.

Again, over 66 million entries are recorded by the biometric border system since its rollout began in October of 2025. 32,000 people were refused entry into this zone. About 800 were considered threats to internal security. About 7,000 travelers were denied entry because they had overstayed their visas.

And so that's what they said that we need this system for, that we need to protect our European citizens. We need to stop criminals. We need to stop the imposters. We need to stop those who have fraudulent documents from crossing borders under false identities with fake documents, according to the report.

And they're doing it in the interest of safety and security. Getting people on board with this digital system. How easy it would be for someone like the Antichrist to take control of this kind of database and a database of all the world's citizens and bring these things together.

Friends, today on this Headlines from the End Times episode, I've tried to show you the convergence of a lot of the signs of the times, whether that's looking at Israel and what's happening in the Middle East for the Ezekiel 38 and 39 coalition, whether we're talking about the spiritual things, the moral stories, the technological advancements that are helping the pieces of this puzzle come together.

But keep in mind, as we always say here at Southwest Radio Ministries, God is still on the throne and prayer changes things.
