Headlines from the End Times
Join Southwest Radio Ministries and Watchman on the Wall. As Josh Davis details today's Headlines from the End Times. Global spiritualism continues to set the stage for the biblical end-times scenario. For the first time in nearly 500 years, a pope and heads of the Church of England worshipped together in Rome. Pope Leo recently welcomed both King Charles and the new Archbishop of Canterbury to the Vatican. Could this be a harbinger for the end-times spiritualism? Also, experts suggest that Turkey does not favor regime change in Iran so that it can maintain prominence in the Middle East. This fits perfectly with the coalition mentioned in Ezekiel 38. These and other stories are on today's episode.

Greetings, fellow Watchmen on the Wall, and welcome to another Headlines from the End Times. You know, here in the US, yesterday was the National Day of Prayer, and the emphasis was on glorifying God by seeking His face. And we certainly need to do that in the United States of America and around the world.
America is approaching our 250th birthday this July 4th, and my prayer is that we will seek the face of God in this critical moment for our country. And not just for those of us in the United States of America, but so many nations in the world are fighting a spiritual battle. And here on Watchman on the Wall, we try to alert you to those things, especially through Headlines from the End Times, to help you see what's happening around the world and the great spiritual battle that is raging worldwide.
The US is certainly no exception, as the next story reveals. And we're going to look at some of the gathering spiritual battles that are taking place around the world. But let's start in the United States of America, as the Minnesota public schools have added prayer rooms and foot-washing stations for Muslim students. There are two public schools in Minnesota, according to reports, that have announced remodeling projects that will provide exclusive space for Muslim students to pray and wash their feet.
It's in a Minneapolis suburb that two high schools in the same school district are seemingly catering to Muslim students. As part of renovations, one school's blueprints included a prayer room specifically labeled as a prayer room. Another school is installing a foot-washing station.
The school district spokesperson said that the prayer room had simply been mislabeled on the construction blueprints and that, in fact, it's just now a multipurpose room and that the foot-washing area is not specific to any particular religion. As one commentator said, oh, the district would have us to believe there are a good many foot-washing Lutherans in Minnesota.
And we know exactly. You can read between the lines and understand what they're doing, who they're trying to cater to. So, what's the big deal about this story? This report reveals the liberal hypocrisy that fights against Christianity at every single turn. They do their best to root out any kind of Christian reference or influence in our public schools, but then they're spending taxpayer dollars to accommodate the worship of Muslim students.
The Twin Cities continues to be a hotbed of spiritual warfare in the United States of America. You know, friends, I'm glad that we get to be there in September. I believe that we're going to have a very timely conference. We're going to be just outside of the Twin Cities in Northfield, Minnesota, September 18th and 19th. And registration is free, and we invite you to be our guest there as we seek the face of Almighty God, as we proclaim His truth that this world needs so desperately.
If you'd like to register for that free conference coming to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area, you can visit swrc.com. That's swrc.com. Click on events, click on that particular event, you can register freely right there. Or give us a call to register today. Our toll-free number: 1-800-652-1144. That's 1-800-652-1144. We'll be sharing more details about that upcoming conference as the time draws nearer, but mark your calendars: September 18th and 19th, 2026.
Moving from the United States, but still staying in the realm of the spiritual warfare and how it is setting the stage for the biblical end-time scenario. Did you see the recent story where the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury met and prayed together? That's right, Pope Leo and the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, who just happens to be the first female Archbishop of Canterbury.
And by the way, you say, what's up with the Archbishop of Canterbury? Well, they're basically the religious head of the Church of England, the Anglican Church. The King or Queen is the figurehead that's supposed to be the supreme governor of the Church of England. And so now we see that both the supreme governor, King Charles, and the Archbishop have met with Pope Leo.
This is a stunning reversal when you consider the origin of the Anglican Church, and I'll talk a little bit more about that as I detail this particular story for you today. Well, getting back to this story that happened just a couple of weeks ago, Pope Leo and the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, met for the first time in a symbolic encounter at the Vatican in which the leaders of the long-separated Catholic Church and the Church of England exchanged gifts and prayed together.
According to reports, Mullally is serving as a spiritual leader for the world's 85 million Anglicans. And of course, Pope Leo, the first US leader of the world's 1.4 billion Catholics, and he welcomed her into his formal office at the Vatican's ornate Apostolic Palace. Ahead of the meeting, Mullally told some reporters that she felt very humbled and very privileged to meet the Pope. She said, quote, "There is a long relationship and fellowship between the Anglican Church and the Roman Catholic Church. We will continue to build on that relationship," end quote.
So the Church of England broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in 1534. It was sparked by the fact that Pope Clement decided to refuse King Henry VIII's request to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. And that decision caused King Henry VIII to pull out and say, fine, I'm going to start my own church. I'm going to name myself as the head of this church.
And so we see that that breakaway has now led to them coming back together some nearly 500 years later. Mullally promised in her remarks to the Pope that she would remain united with him in prayer. Listen to what she said, quote, "We receive from one another gifts we cannot generate alone: depth in prayer, courage in witness, perseverance in suffering, and faithfulness in service," end quote.
Now, that's the message. And do you see there's some Christian language sort of tucked in there? It sounds sort of biblical, but no mention of Jesus, no mention of the gospel, no specific mention. And so that's the real deceptive reality that we find ourselves in, dear friends. And that's why I want to bring you this story is because it sounds nice, it sounds sweet, it sounds kind, it sounds like the world is finally coming together and we're finding peace and we're finding harmony, where 500 years ago it was division and separation. Now we're seeing a great coming together under Pope Leo and under folks like the new Archbishop of Canterbury.
But it's not just the Archbishop. King Charles III, the supreme governor of the Church of England himself, made a state visit to the Vatican back in October. He and Pope Leo prayed together during that visit in the Vatican's Sistine Chapel. Now, this was the first joint worship including a Pope and a British monarch since Henry VIII nearly 500 years ago.
That is significant, dear friends. And that's why I'm bringing you this information today so that you will understand, in my perspective and this is my opinion on how these things will begin to move forward and help set the stage for the biblical end-time scenario. This coalition that we're seeing form as the world is saying we've got to come together in our worship. We need to set aside our differences, we need to set aside our doctrine, we need to set aside our holy books and focus on coming together.
That's the message that the Antichrist will grab hold of and latch onto. And eventually these apostate groups will begin to point to the Antichrist as being the return of Christ. That Jesus is here, the return is here. Look at the miracles that he is doing. You can read the book of Revelation and see some of the fake and false signs and wonders that the Antichrist and the false prophet and some of the others that are satanically inspired will pretend to fulfill, even a fake resurrection from the dead as the scripture tells us in the book of Revelation.
And so we see with each passing day the formation of these signs of the times. And as the pieces of the puzzle continue to come together, friends, I want to remind you that these Headlines from the End Times is a weekly feature here on Watchman on the Wall, typically every Friday. We're bringing you this kind of information, and I encourage you to stay tuned as we help you to stay abreast of some of the major events that are happening around the world and how it lines up with Bible prophecy.

Now let's get back to more Headlines from the End Times. As Israel is becoming a dominant force in the Middle East with all the moves that it is making and how things are seemingly shaping up in Israel's favor, where does that leave Turkey? And what does Turkey want Iran to become? As we look towards Ezekiel 38 and the coalition of nations that's mentioned there, Turkey keeps popping up through many of the references.
If you study it out diligently and faithfully, you understand that many of the places like Meshech and Tubal that are mentioned there are part of modern-day Turkey. Other places that are mentioned are in modern-day Turkey. And so we understand that they're going to be a main cog in the Ezekiel 38 and 39 coalition. And we also know that Persia, modern-day Iran, is also going to be involved along with other nations. They're not the only two, but there are other nations that are mentioned there specifically in Ezekiel 38 and 39.
And so what's Turkey's perspective on what's happening in Iran and how things are shaping up there? Came across an interesting story that I wanted to share with you. As the smoke cleared over Tehran at the beginning of the US-Israel strikes, the Turkish President Erdogan was quick to point the finger. He said, quote, "This all began following Netanyahu's provocations." He went on to say, "We feel deep sorrow and great concern," end quote, as he even went further than that. He gave a chilling warning: quote, "God willing, I have no doubt that Israel will pay the price for this," end quote.
And friends, we know that that is a prophetic statement. Now I'm not saying that he is prophesying on behalf of the Lord or anything like that whatsoever. But I am saying he just does not realize what he's saying: that Turkey will come against Israel. But he's wrong in one estimate, and that is that Israel is going to pay the price. As the Ezekiel 38 and 39 coalition comes against Israel and it seems that they have Israel right where they want them, right in their sights, that God steps in. God intervenes. No other nation comes to Israel's aid, but God steps in and defends the land of Israel.
Well, the report continues that the casual observer might imagine that Turkey, fighting as it is with Iran for dominance of the Middle East region, would welcome the strike against the Islamic Republic, would welcome a regime change. However, a leading expert on Turkish affairs at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security explains that Turkey has a vested interest in the survival of the current Iranian regime.
He said, quote, "Ankara"—that's the capital of Turkey—"Ankara does not want to see a new surprise in the form of regime change. They are interested in the continuation of the regime because if a revolution occurs, Turkey's monopoly as the prime bridge between the West and the Middle East simply disappears," end quote.
There's another Israeli policy expert that agrees with that statement, suggesting that Turkey prefers a crippled neighbor over a liberated one. He said, quote, "Turkey wants a non-nuclear, weak Iran. They want a sort of weak virus in the region. An Iran that is pro-West and working with the Americans would become a magnet for foreign investment, which would directly hurt the Turkish economy," end quote.
And friends, do you see how this sets the stage for Ezekiel 38 and 39? Now I don't pretend to know what's going to come of Iran and how all these pieces are going to come together, but we do certainly know that that land called Persia is part of the coalition that fights against Israel in the Ezekiel 38 and 39 battle. A weak Iran with the current regime still in place seems to fit that bill—that there could be some coalitions made, some concessions made, some agreements made in the future with the country of Turkey to come against Israel, to unite for an attack against their mutual enemy, the land of Israel. Seemingly the pieces of the puzzle are coming into place. It's very interesting to watch.
Now let's consider some technological advances that are helping put tools into the hands of those like the Antichrist who could come onto the scene, use these kinds of tools to usher in his reign of control over the world. The US Department of Homeland Security is funding an initiative for smart glasses that are going to be equipped with biometric capabilities. That's right, the Department of Homeland Security, in their fiscal year 2027 budget, has earmarked some money to expand biometric and identity tech as it is looking in its Science and Technology department and spending millions of dollars—estimated up to seven and a half million in their budget for the fiscal year 2027—to develop some technology including, get this, smart glasses that border security immigration agents could use to instantly detect who certain people are.
It would give them real-time access to information and biometric identification capabilities in the field. So literally, this is a pair of glasses that they would wear, and it's equipped with technology that has cameras installed inside the glasses. And it recognizes the face of someone that they are talking to and would feed that information to them and help them to see, okay, this is so-and-so, they're okay. This is so-and-so, they're flagged, they're a criminal, arrest them, or whatever it is. And so it's interesting to see how these kinds of things are coming together.
Now, I'm sure most of us have done an internet search for our medical symptoms, right? You know, you've got something wrong with you and you start to Google it, and sometimes those results are pretty scary. It's like you've got a runny nose, oh no, you've got cancer or you're about to die, you need to get to the emergency room right away. And you get some pretty scary things sometimes. And that's why a lot of medical people say stay off Google, stay off the search engines, don't look up what you have. It's not a good way to diagnose what you have.
Well, with the advances in AI technology, a lot of people are now turning to AI chatbots. They're uploading pictures of maybe a rash or something to try to help them diagnose what's going on. "These are some of my symptoms," and they're having a conversation with AI chatbots trying to figure out what's going on. Should I go to the doctor? Should I go to the emergency room? What should I do?
The results are less than reliable. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, they have a study published on that. And the main question that the study was looking to answer is, can these large language models—that's the chatbots, that's the AI tools like ChatGPT and other popular versions—can they demonstrate reliable performance across the clinical workflow? In other words, can they be used as a tool to help people identify what's going on with them?
They studied 21 such versions, such models again like the ChatGPT, Grok, and some of the others. 21 such technologies against 29 standardized clinical pictures. Some of them fared better than others. Grok did much better than Google's version Gemini 1.5 Flash performed the worst out of all those. But interestingly, it was about 80% wrong when there were multiple things going on with somebody. It could not really differentiate between what was going on.
The bottom line is that researchers are observing AI chatbot failure rates at over 80% trying to figure out between a couple different illnesses, injuries, or conditions. The authors reported improved chatbot performance in later diagnostic stages with misdiagnosis rates falling below 40%. The most capable models demonstrated accuracy rates over 90% for the final diagnosis.
This shows you the future of medicine could very much be in the hands of AI technology. Could AI learn enough to where it could outperform medical doctors in the field with diagnosis, or could it just be a tool that physicians and that medical teams will use? And could this be a solution to some of the shortages in nursing, the shortages in different avenues to where they could use these kinds of tools? It's interesting to think what the future of healthcare could look like with AI technologies emerging. But if you've got some symptoms, it's best to probably go check with an actual human and not just to put it into ChatGPT or some other chatbot at this particular time.
We also understand there's a real push for digital IDs. That's something I've touched on quite a bit here, helping us see how that the Antichrist could use a global database of all the world's citizens to bring about some of the control measures he wants to have in place. Well, when you look at the EES—that's the European Union's Entry and Exit System—and how it's been just a major headache and continues to be that. Recent reports that I read said that the long lines continue, the headaches continue, travel delays continue as people are trying to onboard their information with this.
The UK is still trying to come back around to some version of a national digital ID. And it seems like governments are stumbling and fumbling along the way. Public trust seems to be eroding in these areas. The question I want to ask is this: could this set the stage for someone with a universal solution that says, "Man, you know, what you're doing in Australia, what you're doing in the UK, what you're doing in Canada, what you're doing in the US, what you're doing in the European Union, what you're doing in Africa... you've got some good pieces, and there's some good things happening over here, and they've got a piece over there. What if we just got on board with a universal solution that all the world comes together?"
And do you see that somebody could step up with a universal solution? Someone like the Antichrist who could have the answers to those kinds of problems as governments are struggling to get the public buy-in. And a crisis, the likes of the Rapture happening and millions of people disappearing at once, could say, "We've got to get on board with what's happening. We've got to understand where these people went and what has happened, how did they disappear? We've got to know who people are. We've got to have this database."
So a crisis like that could prompt the emergence of the Antichrist saying, "Hey, we've got the tools, we've got the capabilities. Let's bring it on board. Let's all come together. We have to come together as a world right here, right now." And I believe the world would be ripe for something like that. And it's just a scenario that I'm painting for you today as we see what's happening with these emerging technologies and how it could help to set the stage for the biblical end-time scenario.
Ultimately, we're not looking for the Antichrist; we're looking for Jesus Christ. We're not looking for the mark of the beast; we're listening for the sound of the trumpet. So until the trumpet sounds, let's be found faithful going forward for the Lord in this moment, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ as we remember that God is still on the throne and prayer changes things.
