Pastor Larry, welcome to the show today.

Larry Spargimino: Glad to be here. I think this is a very important outreach and I think many, many will be blessed by it.

Josh Davis: And Mica, it's wonderful to have you too.

Mica Van Huss: Thanks Josh and Dr. Spargimino. It's good to be on with you guys and excited to announce this digital store to the public.

Josh Davis: Pastor Larry, let's talk about how this can be used by the Lord as a ministry tool. How can people grow in the Lord by watching some of the videos that SWRC has available? We even have some recent conferences available for digital download, and I'll describe what all this means and how people can get it. But let's just think about why this is so important.

Larry Spargimino: Well, gentlemen, I believe that this digital download store will be an immense blessing for many, many people. I believe it will promote discipleship, and that is what God is looking for: disciples. Our Lord said that we are to make disciples of all nations.

When you think of it, the Great Commission is really an educational commission. We are to baptize people, and we are to teach them to obey everything that Jesus commanded. Teaching people is so important in ministry and in the role and the work of a Christian radio ministry like ours is.

As you study a little bit, a disciple is a learner. The New Testament Greek word translated disciple is *mathetes*, which means someone who learns. So our digital download store is ideal for learning. You know, in our contemporary world, some churches are seeking to replace the word disciple with something else. I don't think that's a good idea.

Some might say I'm old-fashioned, but let's look at the facts. Disciple is the most common term to describe Jesus' followers in all four Gospels and in the book of Acts. There's not even a close second. Here are some reasons why I think the word disciple is the word that we should use. First of all, the word disciple compliments our Lord's popular title of rabbi, master, teacher.

Secondly, the word disciple encourages the idea of discipleship as a lifelong learning process, and I think that's really important. So that's one of the ways that our digital download will really help. And then thirdly, the word disciple focuses on our Lord's command to make disciples by teaching them.

So I think it's time for Christians to recommit themselves to Christian discipleship. I think we're really making it very easy and very attractive for our listeners to do that because this digital download store official launch is hopefully going to reach many people. I think many people are going to get excited about it. I know you, I, and Mica are excited about it.

I think people today get excited about a lot of things. We need to get excited about something with substance, something that will help us to grow in our walk with the Lord, and something that will also help us to be good, excellent evangelists as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ in these terrible days of confusion, war, and all of those negative things.

Josh Davis: Thank you, Pastor Larry. You're right, the Great Commission is not just about winning souls; it's about making disciples of all nations. This is a tool that will allow our ministry to do that. Friends, you may be listening and saying, "What is this tool? What are you guys talking about? Digital downloads?"

Mica, I know that you work very hard on video, and that's something that you're very skilled at. But let's talk about the why of that. Why is video such a powerful tool for ministries today?

Mica Van Huss: We live, obviously, in a technological age where pretty much, at least here in America and across the world, but primarily here in America, folks are entertained by screens in front of them. We have been for a number of decades now. But we also have the generations that are younger; that's all they know is what's on the screens.

As I look at this digital download store, obviously I'm familiar with my works on there—my presentations on The Realm of the Dead, The War of the Princes, Jesus and the Bulls of Bashan. But I see your works, Josh. I see Dr. Spargimino's. I see my brother Clayton's—his archaeology DVDs and presentations that he has done. We live in a visual age, and we need to reach people with the gospel by whatever means we can. Obviously, video is a more recent technology and has only existed for just a small percentage of the world, and we no longer distribute information primarily through books and scrolls. Especially with the younger generation, they're visual here in the United States, and these are great tools to be able to reach the newer generations and spread the gospel.

Josh Davis: Pastor Larry, how could churches use some of these video projects? Not just individuals in their homes or with their families, but let's think about how churches could use these video projects like In the Land and some of the other titles that we have available to help them build disciples and to reach others.

Larry Spargimino: Many people, for one reason or the other, never go to Israel. So what a great way to go on a tour and hear a short message about the site that is being visited. In the Land does just that. The messages that our staff share become really special. They're burned in your heart. You remember this stuff because, as Mica was pointing out, it's on the screen; you can see it.

What could be more exciting than a person standing by the Sea of Galilee giving a message about a location on the Sea of Galilee? In the video, you can see it all. It really has a tremendous impact. I've seen some of the videos that I'm in that we've made going to Israel, and they are, what should I say, compelling and attractive. The content of what we say is of course first-rate, and also the videography is very compelling.

We also have a video titled Biblically Grounded: Where Scripture, History, and Hands-on Discovery Meet. This is a wonderful video for learners, which is what a disciple is. These downloads could be used for a home Bible study, a Wednesday evening Bible study at church, or of course, for personal viewing by pastors or Sunday school teachers or anyone who wants to be discipled.

I also want to suggest, as a pastor always looking for ways of building up a church, building churches, out-reaching, being effective, and bringing people in—many non-Christians do not know much about what the Bible teaches. A local church could have a dinner on the grounds and then a video presentation using one of these videos.

Church members could invite friends and offer to pick them up and bring them to church, and after it's all over, bring them home. I think it would be a great idea to have the nursery open so couples could come, sit and see the video, and have fellowship and snacks and all of that. As an added treat, the youth group could do a short presentation or maybe a song or skit.

I think it's really good for the church itself to train church members and church people in discipleship and to get a lot of people involved. Many people have a common stereotype of a church: a Sunday morning gathering in which the congregation sings three hymns, the pastor preaches a sermon, and everyone quickly leaves for their favorite restaurant.

But I believe that we can change a lot of that. We can make the idea of church one where we learn, we hear the Bible, we have Christian fellowship, but it's kind of a nice place to be, a fun place, a place where we can make friends, new friends, where we can learn things that we never heard of before and didn't understand. Of course, the ultimate goal is that many people would make a decision for Jesus Christ. I think that's so important. As I look at the headlines and all the confusion in the world—people are bombing each other left and right—people need Jesus. I believe that more than ever, and I think these videos would be very, very good in outreach to the community.

Josh Davis: Thank you, Pastor Larry. One of the titles that you mentioned is Biblically Grounded, and this is a conference that was hosted by SWRC last year. So we're not just talking about one-hour features or 45-minute feature videos. We even have entire conferences, resources that churches could use.

The Biblically Grounded conference was an archaeology and apologetics conference that SWRC hosted last year. We hired a professional film crew to come and capture it all on excellent audio and video, and that's been professionally produced. It's available as a digital download. That means probably more than 12 hours of content that someone can download and begin watching. It's by some of the leading Christian archaeologists and scholars.

This is the kind of content that you will receive, and it's available at the tip of your fingertips. All you do is just go to swrc.com. I think we're getting close to about a hundred different titles of video projects that are available right there. We've been working quietly behind the scenes on this project for quite some time, and we're excited to bring that information to friends today.

Mica Van Huss: Obviously, spreading the gospel in the modern medium. But as you said, folks don't have to pay for shipping, you don't have to worry about porch pirates—though I guess if someone was going to steal a book containing the gospel, that wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing in the world for them to check out.

I look at the number of the projects on there. Mac Dominick—folks who pay attention to the mysteries that we study know Mac Dominick well. If you listen to the program, he has a lot of resources on there. He's been a Sunday school teacher for 50 years now, and he is a man who has a lot of knowledge and fascinating topics.

A few of my projects are on there—a couple of my DVDs from my first book, Ancient Cities and the Gods Who Built Them. Olympus and Rome is one of them. Olympus and Rome relates to how in the world those relate to the gospel and the Bible. Well, they contain a lot of the mythological stories, a lot of the mythological gods. As I study in my upcoming book next month, Mythologies Decoded, the mythologies are echoes of the scripture. There are so many stories through mythologies that basically are just saying the same thing that scripture did but from a distorted perspective. That's what we expect to find after the Tower of Babel and the separation of languages.

Olympus and Rome is a fascinating topic. Also, we have Atlantis and Eridu, two more ancient cities. Eridu is believed by most scholars—and I would concur—that it's most likely the site of the Tower of Babel, Eridu in Iraq today. Atlantis is a fascinating story. Though people will say it's not a real city, people also said that about the city of Troy until 150 years ago they found it. Atlantis is an echo of the flood, things that happened in the flood.

Those are two of the DVDs from my Ancient Cities series. I have two DVDs on there from my Angels Eternal study. Realm of the Dead, I think, is an important topic for folks to be discipled in and to learn about. Realm of the Dead actually tells us what hell is. The word hell is an English word that never appears in the original Hebrew or the original Greek.

In fact, the English Bibles have combined three different locations of the underworld into one word "hell," and it doesn't do justice to what the underworld actually is. Realm of the Dead is not only the study of what the underworld really is, but it's also a study of the giants that are in the underworld, which scripture mentions in at least three different verses. It talks about why they're there, what they're going to do, and how they got there. That's a fascinating DVD.

My other DVD on there is War of the Princes, and this is the concept of the fallen angels. We have fallen angels through a number of places in scripture, not just the watchers of Genesis chapter 6. The War of the Princes is a fascinating study about the angelic princes that Christ came to defeat. Those are a number of the topics. Again, we have Mac Dominick on there; Mac has a number of fascinating topics. He talks about cosmic conflict and shadows of evil and different things dealing with the false gods of old, the fallen angels.

Be sure to check those out. Those are good resources. Angelology is a neglected area of study, and I recommend that folks understand angelology and study it. With my two DVDs there, those are two from my book Angels Eternal. The whole angelic thought process and argument about the angels and the study of it only magnifies who Christ is. When you realize that Christ is more powerful than all of these entities and beings we are talking about—the princes, the watchers, the divine council—Christ is more powerful than all of them, and they bow to Him. I think angelology is an important area of study, and I recommend folks get into it.

Josh Davis: Mica, I know that you also do a lot of short-form videos for social media and things like that. How can our listeners engage with those kinds of videos that you're creating? I know that you've really ramped up some of that content recently.

Mica Van Huss: I do have YouTube—you don't have to pay for that, so it's not on the digital download side of things because it's free on YouTube. For a while now, I've been putting a video out every single day, non-stop. Most of those are shorts, but every week I've been doing a full-form video around 10 minutes, eight to 10 minutes, and then I do shorts off of those.

Yeah, I have been doing a lot of videos here of late. I've got a special music video about the angels coming out within the month. I've been working non-stop on that. I'm having a ton of fun doing that. I love doing the digital stuff—video editing and the artistic getting AI to help me with making different things. I just love doing it.

Josh Davis: What's the channel that people can go to check that out?

Mica Van Huss: Marginalmysteries.com. Of course, I do X, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook. All of those links are on marginalmysteries.com. Or you can go on YouTube and look for Marginal Mysteries. We study the topics your Sunday school teacher likely didn't talk about, and we have fun doing it.

These kinds of videos certainly help with growing in grace and knowledge, and I believe our digital download store will really help us in this.

And here's another thing about these digital downloads: they can help people leave a good legacy. What kind of a legacy are you leaving? That's kind of a good question for me, you, and everyone. A legacy is something passed down from generation to generation, maybe money or property. Here's something even more important: your Christian values, that's your legacy. That is extremely important. Christians who have been discipled and are disciples have been prepared to pass on a legacy of faith and love for the truth and for Jesus Christ as Lord.

So I believe that this will be one of the greatest results of these digital downloads. Like I said before, I think we're going to get a lot of good testimonies from people saying, "Wow, this is fantastic stuff. I've grown so much." I think we're going to get lots of good testimonies, and that's exciting.
