Pastor Bill Henry talks about today's headlines and how they relate to end times prophecy found in the bible.

Intro Announcer: Hello and welcome to Simple Faith with Pastor Bill Henry, coming to you from Simple Faith Calvary Chapel in Vancouver, Washington. Today we bring you Pastor Bill's weekly prophecy update. He'll be taking a look at current events and he's going to share how they relate to end times prophecy we read in the Bible. Obviously, there's a lot going on in the world, so let's get right to it. Here's Pastor Bill.

Bill Henry: Well hello, beloved in Christ. Welcome to another weekend edition of Simple Faith Radio where I like to come on and just talk about many of the things that are happening in the world and try to address them biblically or at least give us more of a lens biblically. Man, what a week it's been since the last program. It's been pretty crazy. I mean, obviously, the president, another assassination attempt. There's been at least four hugely public attempts on his life, and then many others that have been thwarted from what we hear from the Secret Service and just amazing, honestly, the hatred in the vitriol.

I mean this guy was a school teacher, voted I think it was in 2024 the teacher of the month there at the school that he teaches at, and just the hatred that it would lead someone to seek to kill. But again, that's when you sit there and you call somebody a Nazi, when you call somebody a plague, when you say all these wicked, evil lies about them. It's crazy. I mean, we just had where the Southern Poverty Law Center, SPLC, came out. I think we talked about this last time, but this story is huge.

They were the ones that brought in busloads of people to masquerade at an event from the first presidency of President Trump and basically pretend to be KKK. They funded this whole thing. All these papers come out. They're now being brought to charges in court and all these things are coming out. And so we see it's just a bunch of smoke and mirrors again, and specifically by the left. I know sometimes on the right we'll do things, but we have to stop comparing these things because there is no comparison, really. There's a few similarities, but no comparison.

Basically, it's interesting because at least we know Satan reads his Bible, right? Even sadly while a lot of Christians don't. Satan knows that Jesus said a country that is divided against itself cannot stand and it will fall. And that's basically what's happening before our eyes is people especially on the left and again I think we've seen stories where some of this is coming from China as they're feeding false stories and narratives, Russia or whoever else wants to attack us in that way.

But then you have all these quote-unquote liberals on the far left and I'm talking just people who want I know in New York City they just voted in a mayor who's a communist, self-avowed communist. And remember guys and gals that those beliefs go strictly against the word of God and Christianity. And sadly I hear many of the woke pastors today basically saying, "Oh no, well Jesus taught socialism and communism and I mean look at the book of Acts when they were giving everything to the people basically they donated they sell their property and then help each of the people."

But if you look at that later, Paul had to go around and take a collection for the church in Jerusalem because it didn't work. It wasn't of God. And yes they did that, Lord bless them, but it didn't work. And so to point to that is just bad Bible doctrine if you will, which there's a whole lot of that today. So we see this hatred continuing to grow on the left and sadly so many maybe some of you listening today, you're buying into that. Let's hate Trump, let's hate the Jews, let's hate Israel. And yet that's not what God tells us to. Even if you don't agree with President Trump, we're not allowed to hate him.

I didn't like President Biden, I didn't like President Obama, I didn't like even President Bush before him. It's kind of crazy, but President Bush was the reason I became an independent voter, just to be real with you. And yet it's crazy. Even President Trump, I didn't like his television show. I thought he was very arrogant and I still think he is. But I'm very thankful to the Lord, just like God used King Nebuchadnezzar to do His will against Israel. So today, I think God is using President Trump in many good ways and still some bad ways. There's some things I venomously disagree with this president on.

But either way, I wasn't allowed to hate President Obama. I wasn't allowed to hate President Biden or Clinton. What do you do? You pray for them. You bless them, those that despitefully use you. So we have to be so careful as Christians. Yes we can stand up and vote against these things and we should be voting. What do they say? The latest numbers, over 55% of professing Christians don't vote. Shame on them. That's wicked. I don't know if it's laziness, I don't know if it's hyper-holiness, but if you read Matthew 25, it's very clear that God has given each of us certain things that we're going to be held responsible for when we stand before Him.

I believe the ability to vote is one of them. I mean if all those Christians actually went out and voted, they couldn't cheat in the elections. It would literally be impossible, which I think we have the evidence is clear that there's a lot of cheating going on too. But you look around and you can't make a lot of this stuff up, right? The whole thing with the Southern Poverty Law Center, who even gosh there's President Biden, I watched a video of him talking about all this thing and how terrible it was that President Trump said that there's some good people on both sides of the debate with that whole thing. And they totally lied about what President Trump was saying. And then it turns out that they ginned up the whole thing.

But how about this? How about Israel having their largest they just had the largest LGBT pride event in the Middle East. And yet then in the United States you have and other countries by the way, you have the LGBT community marching against Israel. And yet you go to one of the other countries in the Middle East, they literally will take a homosexual and throw them off the roof. You can't make this up. I mean just all these different stories. There's another story where homosexual dads, two dads that are married, they have a surrogate-born baby and this poor little baby's crying for mama. And you can watch the video, I watched the video, it's disgusting.

They're laughing at the baby. There is no mama. Now I don't even know if this baby knew his mama or not, and but either way just that they're mocking the baby, it's just crazy. Here's another story: US government rescues Utah boy from Cuba, charges father with kidnapping him to get gender surgery in Cuba. So again, all these different stories you cannot make up. How about this one? Failed car bomber released in October 7th deal. If you remember with October 7th when they took all the hostages, all the wicked stuff that Hamas did, so Israel they made a trade to get those prisoners back, the hostages that so many people I even debated with said there are no hostages. Oh really? Then why are they giving them back?

It's wicked, it's just deceit all over. So anyway this gal who was a failed car bomber basically was released in that October 7th deal. And then who hires her to give a speech? Berkeley. You can't again make this stuff up. Yeah, let's have a failed car bomber come and speak to our children. Here's another story that Obama exposed, President Trump released this, and basically that James Comey, John Brennan, Clapper and Rice and Biden were all in the meeting on July 28th, five years ago, basically starting up the whole Russia collusion thing. Excuse me, that was back in 2016.

And you just oh, I don't even know. There's another story in Texas: 18-year-old woman charged in alleged mass casualty plot targeting a Texas synagogue. Then you have this fellow who was a school teacher trying to kill the president and just oh. And right away by the way, what does the media say? "Oh, well we don't know if they're trying to kill the president or if they're just coming in to try to kill the media." What? And then there's video, I watched videos of some of the people that were at the event they just started stealing bottles of wine off the tables as they're going out the door. Now if you're not a Christian, they probably needed that, but it's really sad because again it's just wicked.

So you see all these different stories that continue to happen. At the same time you see up in Seattle, Washington here, cultural festival applauds Palestinian terrorist speaker released in October 7th deal. So apparently she's making the rounds and ends up in Seattle. So let's applaud somebody who tried to kill innocent people. And at the same time you have Marilyn Hickey died this last week. And so you have somebody like CBN News, Pat Robertson fame, this is their headline: Renowned Bible teacher and evangelist Marilyn Hickey passes on to eternity.

Look, she was a false teacher. Marilyn Hickey was a false teacher and I say that not because I heard she was a false teacher. No, I read her stuff many years ago. I taught a class on the positive confession movement and the false teaching of all that and the name it and claim it, the blab it and grab it. It's all false teaching and she was one of the main false teachers. I hope that before she died she repented of all of her false teaching and leading so many people astray and causing so many Christians to stumble in their faith.

Man, the stories again, they just continue to go on and another failed attempt on President Trump's life and you have all these people on the left, "Oh too bad he failed again" and it's so wicked. Now at the same time in the midst of the great falling away, you have Pope Leo now basically affirms informal blessing for homosexual couples and downplays sexual sin. Now this is from LifeSite. This is a Catholic news organization. So this is not from a Protestant or Evangelical news source. This is a Catholic news source and that is their headline.

It's really terrible when you see it across the board though. It's not just in the Catholic Church, man, it's in the Lutherans, it's in the Orthodox, it's in Calvary Chapel, some of the Calvary Chapels going off the deep end into having women teach in the pulpit over men, going into woke theology and you can't make this stuff up again. So here you have the Catholic Church going further into sin and affirming now same-sex couples and now they can receive an unofficial blessing if you will. And then even on the other side, Law and Crime reporting, here's a dad, the dad their seven-week-old son and spiked him like a football because he was crying too much.

And then when that didn't kill him, he just shook the baby to death. Look, the Bible is very clear about what's going to happen in the last days. And as we look around and we see so many of the things that Jesus told us to be looking for, Paul told us to be looking for, Jude and John, just on and on, Peter. You can't not see unless you're blind. And I just want to encourage us today though to be on guard, to be on watch and to understand. Remember Jesus said, and you'll hear like in Matthew chapter 24, you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened or troubled for this must take place.

So as Christians, remember God hasn't given us a spirit of fear. Look, I'm not saying these things aren't scary sometimes, they are. But that's not the spirit we have in Jesus Christ, but of love and of power and of a sound mind. That is the spirit He's given us. So we have that love and that power and a sound mind of God. That's who's living within us. So again, Jesus says, "Hey look, don't be frightened, don't be troubled. These things must take place." Verse seven: Nation will rise against nation. Now that's ethnos against ethnos. So that's ethnicity against ethnicity and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in place after place and this is just the beginning, the early pains of the birth pains of the end.

Then they will hand you over to suffer affliction and tribulation, put you to death. You'll be hated by all nations for my name's sake. By the way, the guy who tried to assassinate President Trump had a lot of anti-Christian literature in his posts and in his manifesto. And it goes on to say many will be offended or many will fall away. But it's interesting, offended, repelled, begin to distrust and desert Him whom they ought to trust and obey and will stumble and fall away and betray each other and pursue one another with hatred.

Now it's interesting to me is even with I think we're in the midst of that's the second greatest sign I think of the times that we see today, the great falling away. You've heard me talk about this a lot if you've heard our program at all. The first one is Israel becoming a nation again May 14th, 1948 just as God said it would happen and they're still returning Israelites from all over the world. And so that is God definitely moving because the church has not replaced Israel. That is very bad hermeneutics and theology to say that.

And yet when we see it happening before our eyes, that's the first huge sign. Again, it hasn't happened in the history of the world, guys and gals. It's not like this happens every day and oh, that's just another coincidence. No, this is something that again if you're not blinded, you have to say, "Whoa, something's going on there." Because again the scripture says over and over and over all throughout the Old Testament, even into the New, that this was going to happen. But then Jesus talks about, we just read about the great falling away, that many will stumble, they will fall, they will betray one another. And that's what's happening within the church today.

So we see this great falling away. Paul describes it in 2nd Timothy chapter three. He also talks about it in 1st Timothy: doctrines of demons. But in 2nd Timothy three, it's just this amazing thing that happens. And that's really what's been happening today, isn't it? All these people are going after these false doctrines and it's crazy. And the main reason why is because we are not being people of the word of God. We're going with our feelings. We're going with what we think sounds good. I was listening to some guy, what was it, John Mark Comer I think his name is, and the stuff that he was saying, basically saying that you had to do all these things.

He has some book that talks about this new way if you will, and it's really an old way as he goes back to Catholicism and these all these hyper-spiritual things that are unbiblical, extra-biblical and gets into basically saying you have to do these things to be saved. And that's not the gospel. We are saved by grace through faith, not of works lest any man should boast. It's very clear and you cannot go against that and yet many do. You have somebody another fellow that's a Democrat that's in Texas running and basically he said, I watched a video of him and he was just saying that God is non-binary and ungendered and there are six genders and God is all six genders.

And yet he says he's a Evangelical Christian. So he's a wicked man and he's a deceiver and he's a liar. All these things, that's not what the Bible says. I'm quoting him, quote, "God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between." And again at the same time, you have people on the quote-unquote other side of the aisle saying things that aren't biblical either. Look, guys and gals, we need to be men and women of the word of God. See, where a lot of these guys will get you, and I'm talking probably a lot to the younger people today because I've talked to a lot of young kids and young kids now to me are in their 20s and 30s. Sorry.

But here's the thing: bring it back to the word of God. Don't go off into these terms. "Oh, they're preterists" and all these different terms that these theologians come up with. And I understand the reason for terms. I read them, I understand them, but I think most of the times they use them to basically sound really smart and to confuse most of the people who are listening to them. And they start to explain away, "Oh well, Hell really isn't real. How could a God of love really have there be a Hell?" And guy Kirk Cameron was just saying something just like that a couple months ago and others that are going into what we call woke theology.

And you have to be so careful today as Christians because we need to be men and women of the word of God. That's where we stand. Be Bereans. We take what we hear, if you look up the Bereans in the book of Acts, they heard Paul preaching and teaching and it says every day every time they heard him preach they'd go back home and to the word and see if what he says was true. And so when you hear somebody saying something, you don't go to the theology books to see if what they say is true. You go to the Bible and those 66 books that we call the Bible to see if what they say is true or it's false.

And so be very careful in these days because deception is going to continue to grow. That's what Jesus said. That's what Paul said. That's what Jude warned about. That's what Peter I mean we can go on and on. Now one of the last things I wanted to mention, we're actually almost out of time already. But here's this is PC Gamer Magazine. This is a just a gamer magazine but here's their head story, ready? Here we go again: Artificial intelligence deletes entire company's database and all backups in nine seconds and then cheerfully admits, quote, "I violated every principle I was given," unquote.

Artificial intelligence, by the way, it's not really artificial intelligence, it's pre-programmed, all of it. And it seems like it's that and we have to be so careful, but I do think that this is the way that the Antichrist, as we read in the book of Revelation, is actually going to force the whole world to worship him and many other things. This is how he's going to do this because he's not omnipresent, he's not omniscient, so he needs that help. And so my point is we see all these things across the board. Honestly, like I said earlier in the program, we have to be blind not to see these things. But you know what? A lot of us are willfully closing our eyes.

Can I encourage you Christian to stop that? Stop stopping your ears. Again, that doesn't mean we become fixated on the news or on videos or reels. No, we become more and more fixated on Jesus Christ through His word by His Holy Spirit. And we seek to walk in loving obedience to Him by His word because we love Him and that's what lovers of Jesus will do. And so be in fellowship. Be at a church every Sunday, every Wednesday if they're open during the week. Be serving at your church. Be tithing to your church, supporting, and then go out and be the light and salt that we are.

Look, guys and gals, that's not a legalistic thing. If you really love Jesus, that's going to be, "Whoo, I can't wait to go do this." As we're closing, I just encourage you men and women to love Jesus as He loves you. And we're never going to be perfect at it and we thank Him for His grace, we thank Him for His mercy. But man, let's go out and be that light and salt we are. Unashamed, standing up, being aware, and just walking in the Spirit of God according to the word of God. And as these lies come, these false prophets come, as all these other things are happening, we are looking up, but we're also looking around and sharing the gospel, planting seeds, watering seeds, loving people for Jesus. Hey, Lord bless you. May He keep you, make His face shine upon you. And as I like to say, we'll see you here, there, or in the air. God bless.

About Bill Henry

Pastor Bill Henry came to know Jesus through repentance of his sins and believing on Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior at the age of 19, in 1982. He was heavily into the surfer lifestyle- including an addiction to pot and alcohol.  He was invited to attend a charismatic Catholic retreat, that was designed to bring young Catholics into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It was there that he was born again in Jesus Christ - and that repentance and salvation truly took place in his life.

During the eight years to follow, he grew in the Lord, becoming a leader and teacher, yet he found that the ground he had been building his foundation upon was not the Solid Rock of the Word of God and he found his Christian life was built upon sand.

During this time he had also been attending Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California. He started reading his Bible through for the first time in his life, which gave him the solid rock to build upon.

In 1992 he was accepted into Calvary Chapel of Cost Mesa's School Of Ministry, or SOM, as it is fondly called. While attending there he served as the leader of a Christian praise and worship band, he also began teaching again and eventually the Lord raised him up to take over and teach the Musician's Fellowship. He also began teaching at that same Rescue Mission he had led worship at, as well as at rest homes. After two years he left the Musician's Fellowship to take over the High School Ministries Home Fellowship. He graduated from the School of Ministry in 1994.

He had also met his future wife, Talia, while being on-staff and serving at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and they were married in July of 1995.

The Lord later called Bill and Talia up the Pacific Northwest where he served as an Assistant Pastor at a large Calvary Chapel affiliate for two years, while living in Battle Ground, WA.

Bill left there in 2004 and they started an new work in Battle Ground called Simple Faith Calvary Chapel. After meeting in schools mostly for 6 years, they finally found a building to lease in Brush Prairie, WA and are extremely blessed.

Bill and Talia have also been blessed with three wonderful girls in their family too!

The heart here is to love the Lord our God with all we are, to love each other as we love ourselves, and to love the lost for Jesus Christ...

To "equip the saints for the work of the minsitry" - through the teaching/preaching of God's powerful and perfect Word; verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter, learning to walk ever deeper in the Spirit of our God.
