Many people have misconceptions about angels. In the Bible, the word “angel” simply means “messenger.” When they gathered over Bethlehem the night Jesus was born, they heralded the greatest message that has ever been sent. In this message, you’ll unveil three ways angels are examples of adoration to us today. Your own adoration will increase as you hear this story of a baby in a manger who ended up being a man on a cross.

One day, a brilliant light flooded the skies over a sleepy town south of Jerusalem. Myriads of angels announced the coming of a Savior, who was Christ the Lord. These messengers of God proclaimed the greatest news sinful humankind would ever hear. They also are a model for Christians of true worship, delight in salvation, and more. In this message, you’ll counter cultural theology’s false beliefs about angels with what the Bible reveals.

When you acknowledge your need for Jesus, there’s no room for pride. Unlike you, Jesus had a choice where He would be born. His first night on earth was in a borrowed manger—a cattle feeding trough. He came with no kingly pomp—just a humble bed of straw. In this message, you’ll learn how Jesus’ coming in the manger can change you. All the rationalizations of your sin can be put away and you’ll be truly home.

Why do people make a big deal about a baby in a manger at Christmas? There seems to be other more pressing problems and conflicts in life. Yet, there is no weightier division than that between a holy God and sinful man. Two thousand years ago, that dividing wall was breached in a feeding trough in the tiny town of Bethlehem. There was no room for Jesus then. Will you welcome Him now?

Within you, there’s a desire for God that cannot be quenched any other way except by God Himself. Yet the infinite revealed Himself through the ordinariness of the manger. He did so by sending Jesus into the world, born into a peasant family in Israel. This baby was much more than met the eye. In this message, you’ll investigate three figures of speech from Scripture that depict Jesus in all his fullness.

There is no question in the world that is more important than this: Who is this Child? Yet many people try to explain away Jesus’ humanity or His divinity. The Apostle Paul wrote of a deep mystery: “great is the mystery of godliness; God was manifest in the flesh.” This Christmas, you’ll remember a night like no other, the night Jesus was born on planet Earth.

When God was alone and nothing else existed, he unfurled a plan to become human to save us—to reconcile us to Himself. God decided to be our offering for sin—and the Word was made flesh. Christmas is a special time of the year, but why do we celebrate Christmas in the first place? During this holiday season, you’ll consider Christmas from a different viewpoint, from far away and a time long ago.

God is sovereign in history as well as in your life. God is too beautiful, too pure, too wonderful, and too holy for us to adequately express who He is. The supreme attributes of God are already evident in the lives of His people. The attributes of God can meet you where you are and change you.
