Is there an explanation for the similarity of peoples' stories about near-death experiences? Dr. Lutzer says "yes." Those lights at the end of the tunnel may not be what they seem. As believers, we need God's revelation on what happens after death. And God has given us that revelation in His word.

Some people who have been near death and back report a strange, inviting light beckoning them to cross through the door. But is that light what it seems to be? How seriously should we take the revelations of those in the twilight between life and death? We need to know, since one day, we too will pass beyond this life and face what lies on the other side.

As the songwriter penned, "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing." And its greatest splendors are found in First Corinthians 13. Real love seeks the good of others first, and seeks our benefit last. This is a far cry from the way people are attracted to each other these days. But as believers, we are held to a higher standard: God's love standard as found in the Bible.

From time to time the issue of spiritual gifts has divided believers. Speaking in tongues has long caused contention. The Apostle Paul put that issue to rest a long time ago in his writings to the church at Corinth. He taught that there is something that far transcends all spiritual gifts, and that something is love. Today: more study in the famous "love chapter."
