When You’ve Been Wronged
Conflict in relationships is inevitable, but healing and reconciliation often is not. Time and again we've tried every option and failed, and all we are left with is a load of guilt and pain. Pastor Erwin Lutzer shows how the blessing the Lord gives to those who suffer unjustly is worth the pain involved. He also illustrates the need to leave our broken relationships in the hands of God and move forward in our lives toward freedom. The day before Christmas and that last dash to the mall: for merchants, another frenzy of selling. But there were no malls in Bethlehem long ago; no lights, no friends. Indeed, Christmas had a humble beginning.

December 25 was not Jesus' actual birthday, but it's the date set aside long ago for us to honor that birth. For Mary His mother, that birth began a long period of pain and sorrow, a personal toll we seldom consider during this time of year.

In three days we'll celebrate the central event in human history...the coming of Jesus Christ to live among us. But while Christians now enjoy the benefits of Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection, there was one person who felt great pain when He came.

One thing about the Bible: it does not mince words. Its authors do not sugar-coat the truth, even when that truth is unpleasant. When John wrote Revelation under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, he described the end times in vivid, and even gory detail. Today, we'll learn about the fate of those who defy the Lord Jesus Christ at the great battle that wraps up history as we know it. Stay with us.

Like brilliant facets of a diamond, there are many sides to Jesus Christ. He's both a loving teacher and a stern judge. His authority over every one who has ever lived is absolute, for He holds the keys of death itself. Only through Him can anyone enter into eternal life. The picture the Bible paints in its last book is one of a Jesus wielding the sword of God.

There's a stark contrast between the Jesus of the manger and the Jesus who will one day return in great power and glory. The eyes of the baby Jesus twinkled in the pale moonlight. The eyes of the coming Jesus are like flaming fire. Today, we turn our gaze into the future for a look at the Christ of supreme authority, the Christ who comes to judge the earth.

The real Jesus: He's much more than a good excuse to sell Christmas presents. He is the Lord of glory and the Lamb of God. And as that Lamb, He came to offer Himself as an atonement for the sins of all mankind. The real Jesus had a mission far beyond setting a good example. He came to transform people, not merely inspire them. And that took a supreme sacrifice.

It's true: nothing has changed history on this planet more than the appearance of one solitary life: that of Jesus. With no media, no mass transit, no money, and few followers, how could one man have altered history so irrevocably? The simple fact is, he couldn't, if he was only a man. Today: more details on the real Jesus...the King of Kings.

Those who worry that Christmas loses its meaning in the annual mad dash to the department store have something worse to fear. That the real Christ of Christmas has been supplanted by false christs who are similar in name only. Today: you'll meet the real Jesus, and never again need to indulge in the menu of contemporary christs available these days.

We all remember Rodney King saying "Why can't we all just get along?" Many hope all denominations can one day unify. Problem is, unity without a common doctrinal basis is not real unity. There are crucial differences between the Jesus of the New Testament and the Jesus of many religious groups. Our job: to discern the true Christ among all the false ones.
