As we count them, there are small sins and big sins...but in God's sight, there is one biggest sin. It is unbelief. Unbelief keeps people from salvation, and unbelief keeps Christians from fruitfulness. What God thinks of unbelief is one focus of Hebrews chapter three, today's study for those running life's race.

Some would teach that once we are saved, we are all set. God will bless us no matter what we do. After all, we are going to heaven. But when God detects a spirit of unbelief in His children, He gets angry. That is the teaching of Hebrews chapter three: our focus on today's broadcast. For some candid lessons on what God expects of you, stay with us.

We would all agree that God is angry with the wicked. But think: does God ever get angry with Christians? The answer might surprise you. We who run life's race need to pause long enough to face the reality of Hebrews chapter three. Today: the key reason why God sometimes gets angry with His children.

When an angel appeared in Bible times, people would fall on their faces. But the angel was often quick to say "Do not worship me." We should do as the angels do, and worship the one they worship. Today, why Jesus is far superior to even the highest angel, and why He alone is the way to God.

Lots of people believe in angels. They think angels are heavenly friends sent to work out our earthly problems. Not so fast. The reality is that angels exist to do the will of God, and to exalt God's Son, as should we. The book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus Christ is far above the angels, and above all creation. To find out more about just how exalted Jesus is, stay with us.

There is a New Testament book that takes us directly into heaven's throne room. Here we find what it means to "draw near to God." That book is the book of Hebrews, and today we begin a series that highlights many of the teachings of this vital epistle, teachings that will help us better run life's race, and better serve the King of Kings.

To win a major race, runners lose extra weight. They cast off everything that might slow them down on their way to victory. Believers are commanded to love God supremely, and cast off every weight and sin that besets them. Then, they can run life's race at top speed, knowing that the goal line will bring them face to face with the God they love.

First place...the thought of winning a race drives athletes to excel...to give their all to cross the goal line first. Believers are to give God first place in their lives, running life's race for no other reason than to express their love for Him. In fact, we are commanded to love God supremely: everything else is to take second place.

At the racetrack, a runner is driven by the thought of victory. The race is worth all the effort when the prize awaits at the end. Believers are to run life's race for Christ, who taught us to love God with all our being as the first and greatest commandment. Now that is a tall order, one we will explore today on our broadcast.

When a man or woman is converted to Christ, many deep-seated desires change. We become givers rather than takers...and God's desire is that we see our money as a trust to manage, not a possession to squander. Running life's race successfully has a financial component that we will summarize on today's broadcast.
