God, Yes, But Why Jesus? Part 3

January 6, 2023

In today’s world, “tolerance” is heard everywhere. But Christians must be ready and able to lovingly point people to Jesus—the only way to the Father. In this message from John 14, we define three characteristics of truth: universality, consistency, and objectivity. Without that truth there is no knowing, and without that life there is no living.

When You’ve Been Wronged
Conflict in relationships is inevitable, but healing and reconciliation often is not. Time and again we've tried every option and failed, and all we are left with is a load of guilt and pain. Pastor Erwin Lutzer shows how the blessing the Lord gives to those who suffer unjustly is worth the pain involved. He also illustrates the need to leave our broken relationships in the hands of God and move forward in our lives toward freedom. Many are into spirituality but are often offended by absolute truth claims. While some think all religions are equal and scoff at evangelism, Jesus stands alone. In this message from John 1, Jesus has three credentials that qualify Him: His deity, His humanity, and His ability to save. God has revealed Himself in the flesh.

Believers want to know what lies ahead in the plan of God. God’s will is unfolded as a series of small events that ultimately take us where He wants us to go. In this message, our paths will be made clearer through the light from God’s Word. It’s time we let Him guide by asking, seeking, and knocking.

How do we make major life decisions? It’s crucial to allow God to order our steps in the uncertain weeks and months ahead. In this message, we build a foundation for decision-making through five presuppositions about God’s will from Scripture. When we think we can handle the hard times, that’s precisely when we need to give everything to God. While enslaved in Egypt, the Israelites had to acknowledge their own rebellion against God. In this message, we glean key lessons for hard times. When the pressure mounts, are we ready to yield to the Lord?

When our world crashes down, we can be sure God has us there by divine appointment. The Israelites faced brutal oppression as slaves, crying out to God in desperation. In this message, we join a five-point curriculum to face hard times. God won’t waste any of our trials.

It’s easy to trust God in success but difficult to trust Him in the desert. With all of Moses’ fears and insecurities, God met him at the burning bush. In this message, we follow three lessons that prepare our hearts for God’s plan. Could a desert be exactly where God wants us to be?

Whether we’ve lost a job, a home, or any kind of hope, we know life is hard. Even Moses’s life confirmed this while he was on the run, living in a desert. In this message, we walk through three deeper lessons from the wilderness: servanthood, trust, and obedience. What do we do when life is hard and our options are few?

From before all time, God chose to create our world where the drama of good and evil, justice and injustice, would be played out. Within that context of fallen humanity, Jesus left His home to reconcile us to Himself. In this message, we marvel at God’s plan. Is there room in our lives for Jesus?

Christmas is a special time of the year, but why do we celebrate the holiday in the first place? Before anything existed, God unfolded a plan to save us. In this message, we reflect upon why the Word was made flesh. Let’s consider Christmas from a different viewpoint, from far away and a time long ago.
