When a child dies, a job is lost, or a reputation is slandered, we often wonder who’s behind it. Amid immense tragedy, Job showed us how to ask why. In this message, we reflect on the roles of God, Satan, and Job in this story. We may be shocked to find out who was ultimately behind the pain and suffering in which Job found himself.

What compels Christians to be courageous in the face of life’s storms? In Acts 27, were it not for the courage of Paul, all the prisoners and soldiers aboard his ship would have been lost. In this message, we nail down three applications for facing our storms. The One who conquered death is with us in the storm.

We face many storms in life, even when we’re in the will of God. While in chains, Paul was sailing to his trial in Rome when a storm arose. In this message, we encompass the first of three lessons on crises. When we find ourselves in a storm, we just might learn something new about God.

God uses messes and injustices for His good purposes. Paul pled his case before Rome’s king in Israel, seizing the moment to communicate the Gospel. In this message, we’re encouraged by two lessons from Paul’s conversion story. Even amid disappointments and difficulties, God is still working to shine His light.

How can God turn life’s obstacles for good? Though Paul encountered injustices in prison, that didn’t stop him. In this message from Acts 25, we’re reminded of God’s purposes in difficulties and disappointments. Let’s watch Paul’s conduct before and after Christ, from the perspective of a pagan ruler.

Too often, we sacrifice eternity on the altar of the present. Though Paul was on trial, he confronted the Roman governor Felix’s sins. In this message, we hear a clear warning against the love of money or people’s opinions. We cannot wait until we die for our sins to come to light and for us to be humbled before God.

Many today ignore their conscience when confronted with Christianity. The Apostle Paul spoke directly to Felix, causing the Caesarean governor to become uncomfortable. In this message, we overhear Paul’s words about righteousness, self-control, and coming judgment. Are we willing to sacrifice being comfortable in the here and now?

What are we willing to do because of our passion for God? In Jerusalem, some new believers insisted that converts to the Christian faith keep observing Jewish laws. In this message, we meet Paul as he settles an argument that put the outreach of the Gospel at risk. We too are called to give our lives to carry out God’s desires.

Imagine all God can do through someone solely focused on God’s will. Paul’s determination to settle a church split in Jerusalem drove him into hardship, and eventually, to be on trial in Rome. In this message, we consider Paul’s dilemma and defense. Are we willing to do what is right even when harm is seemingly inevitable?

The continuation of the church always depends on its message. Take a tour of the sites of the seven churches of Revelation in what is now Turkey. All of them are gone. In this message, we review nine lessons from the church in Ephesus. What will it cost us to follow the message of the cross?
