In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. Perhaps no parable of Jesus has drawn as many tears as that of the prodigal son. That’s because we’re all prodigals. When the father greets his returning son, we see just how much God wants to forgive His children and receive them back into fellowship.

Jesus told a parable about a man who needed bread. The man went to a friend at midnight to get some bread, and because of his boldness, he got bread.  Jesus teaches us to be bold in praying to the Father, saying, “Ask, and it will be given to you.”

Jesus left us a pattern for prayer: an outline of how to approach God. When the disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray as they saw Him pray, His answer was the famous “Lord’s Prayer.” Now, we can learn as they did.
