In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. The word diversity scares some people. They would rather spend time with those of like mind than embrace those they consider "different." In the body of Christ, there is great diversity. And the mature Christian enjoys the gifts of every member of the body, since each believer has a unique contribution to make to the growth of Christ's kingdom on earth.

For some reason, we tend to think that God is somewhere "up there" looking down on His children to see how they are doing. But the New Testament paints a different picture - one in which God sees believers as part of Christ's body the church - in a union with Him as intimate as the connection between the parts of a human body. As Christians running the race of life, we do not run alone...we share the actual life of God Himself.

When you take apart an old alarm clock you will see an amazing array of gears all working together to make sure you wake up on time. If any gear gets out of place, the whole thing grinds to a halt. It is similar in the local church…if people are not serving where God wants them to serve, the whole ministry is shortchanged. Today, we will learn what spiritual gifts are, and why it is so vital that we find which gift we have.

Ever feel like a square peg in a round hole? Try as you might, you do not seem to fit in with others. Happily, there is a solution. God has a place of service for every Christian, and a spiritual gift every Christian can use to benefit others in that place of service. If we fail to use our gifts, the body of Christ suffers. Today, we will explore how to identify our gifts, and how to put them to work.
