Come and See His Empty Tomb, Part 2 of 2 (Come and See Jesus)

October 18, 2017

The Apostle Paul said Jesus was “declared to be the Son of God in power... by his resurrection from the dead.” If we trust in Christ, the empty tomb in Jerusalem provides a promise that the tombs you and I shall occupy will one day be empty as well.

Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. Death is everyone’s unavoidable fate, the legacy of the first sin committed by Adam and Eve. But believers cling to the promise of Jesus: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”

Our aspirations as believers must pass through God’s hands. Jesus faced untold agony in Gethsemane. He knew what awaited Him, and he prayed until blood drops hit the ground. Most importantly, He said to His Father, “Not my will, but Thine be done.”

Gethsemane lies on the Mount of Olives. Here, Jesus spent a night in agonized prayer before being nailed to a cross. His mission was to drink the cup of suffering for you and for me. But what does this mean? Let’s examine the significance of the suffering of Christ.

Some Christians believe the walk of faith should bring them happiness and prosperity. But our Master’s real legacy includes suffering. To walk where Jesus walked means walking in Gethsemane. In that garden a decision was reached that made salvation possible

Atop a high mountain, a glorified Jesus appeared along with Moses and Elijah in the presence of Peter, James, and John. The Transfiguration was an amazing event. In today’s message we examine the significance of those who gathered on that momentous day.

On a high place, Jesus gave three disciples a blinding vision of the future. Moses and Elijah appeared with Him, symbolizing Jesus as fulfilling both the law and the prophets. The experience was so powerful that, years later, Peter wrote about being “on the Holy Mountain.”

Can Satan bind a child of God? Can a Christian sell his or her soul to the devil? In this message Pastor Lutzer speaks frankly about the limits God has set on Satan’s domain, and why the victory of Christ is complete. We’ll learn all this from Matthew chapter 12.

Many wonder if they’ve committed the unpardonable sin Jesus spoke of in Matthew chapter 12. In this message we’ll study the meaning of the unpardonable sin in its larger context. Jesus was talking with the Pharisees who wanted to destroy Him.
October 5, 2017
One day the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons using Satan’s power. Jesus replied, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” His answer left them speechless, and so, they plotted to destroy Him. In this message we see how public opinion turned against Jesus.
