Back In Heaven Where He Belongs #3 of 3

March 26, 2008
When you visit Israel, it is possible to stand on the very mount from which Jesus Christ ascended to His father in heaven. Prophecies foretell His return to that very Mount of Olives one day to set up His kingdom...a kingdom whose capital will be Jerusalem. Meanwhile, those who believe in Him are charged to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Today: how Jesus is ruling in heaven even now.

Christians, Politics, And The Cross
We are living in a time when we desperately need to engage our culture with the only message that has any hope of transforming it. As Pastor Lutzer explores various approaches to the relationship between the state and the church, he reminds us that spiritual redemption, not political reformation, is at the heart of God’s agenda. Only the church, not a political party, can bear God’s message to a hurting world. Click below to receive this book for a gift of any amount or call Moody Church Media at 1.800.215.5001.

For some 40 days the resurrected Jesus walked the roads of Israel, having fellowship with His beloved disciples. But then the time came for Him to make a journey into the sky. Angels were in attendance as Jesus rose into the air until the clouds took Him out of His companions' sight. Today: more about what it means for Jesus to be with His Father in heaven.

The Mount of Olives sight was unforgettable: the disciples saw Jesus rise into the sky until clouds blocked their view. The ascension of Jesus into heaven marked the end of His earthly ministry and the beginning of a new ministry: interceding for His people at God's right hand. Today, we are going to find out what our victorious Savior's role is as He awaits His return to earth.

Live InterviewLots of people admire Jesus...and they admire many other gurus. They see Jesus as one road to God, but not the only one. Jesus said He was the way - the only way to God. Either this is true or it is not. Today, pop culture tells us that everyone can find their own way to the divine and so Jesus is placed on a shelf with many other pathways to eternity. Today another lie is debunked.

Live InterviewMany people have skeletons in their closets: carefully hidden secrets no one can ever know, lest their reputations be ruined. Some today are saying that Jesus has a skeleton in His closet: that He had a human father and was not virgin-born as the Bible teaches. Those who want to minimize the New Testament Jesus spread this lie to make Jesus just natural, not supernatural. Why does it matter?

Live InterviewIf the claims of Christ are true, then there is no other way to eternal life than through His sacrifice and salvation from sin. Many today cannot tolerate the exclusivity of Jesus' claims. They want to refashion Him as just another man...a unique man, to be sure, but just a man. They have decided to edit the New Testament to remove supernatural references and help us get back to "the real Jesus."

Live InterviewConspiracy theorists have taken to the internet like bees to a flower. Imagine any kind of wild scheme, and you will find it there. Those who want to revise history's view of Jesus have come up with a radical concept: that Judas was not a traitor, but rather, a man who helped Jesus attain his metaphysical destiny. Today, we will sort out another lie being spread about the Son of God.

Live InterviewThe central focus of the Christian faith is the cross. Here Jesus paid the price for sin, opening the way to eternal life. But not all have that life. In fact, many are trying to reinvent Jesus as a mere man, a teacher who meant well but ended badly. Some say He never went to the cross, but was so loved by God that He was taken directly to heaven. Today: another lie about Jesus is debunked.

In some cultures, offending a revered prophet is a sure way to lose your head. But no one complains if Jesus' name is reviled. Through lies and distortions, the Son of God is being repackaged. Whether in "The Da Vinci Code" or in the Jesus Seminar, a new Jesus is emerging...one that bears scant resemblance to the Jesus of the New Testamant. Today: Dr. Lutzer's answer begins.

If you ever wanted to know how God feels when we turn to Him in repentance, take a long look at Luke chapter 15. All of us are prodigal sons, and our Father rejoices when we come back to Him. But some of us are like the elder brother who cried "unfair" when his sinning brother sought forgiveness. Today: what Jesus thinks about the lost people in your life.
March 13, 2008
Jesus used simple parables to explain eternal truth. Though simple, these stories carry profound implications. In the gospel of Luke, He spoke of seeking a lost coin and compared it to seeking a lost soul, teaching us the value of every person we meet. Today: why seeking the lost was His great mission, and why it should be our great mission as well.
