Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer

When the Son is Crowned, Part 1 of 2 (When God Shows Himself)

When You’ve Been Wronged
Conflict in relationships is inevitable, but healing and reconciliation often is not. Time and again we've tried every option and failed, and all we are left with is a load of guilt and pain. Pastor Erwin Lutzer shows how the blessing the Lord gives to those who suffer unjustly is worth the pain involved. He also illustrates the need to leave our broken relationships in the hands of God and move forward in our lives toward freedom. The Bible says that all our righteous deeds are as filthy rags. Only God’s righteousness opens heaven’s doors. That’s why we’re deceived if we believe that “God helps those who help themselves.”

Long-term gain can be short-circuited when investors go for short-term, fast profits. The same is true in life. Going for immediate pleasures can ruin the potential to enjoy the overwhelming pleasures of God, pleasures that last a lifetime.

We’ve all seen the cartoons in which the devil whispers in one ear, and an angel whispers in the other. The implication is that choosing sin means happiness, and saying “no” means a humdrum existence. In this message we’ll combat another lie about God.

We’re running a lap of life’s race asking this question, “Did the Fall ruin God’s plans?” The answer has to be “no,” because nothing can ruin God’s plans. What are the implications for you and for me?

Consider the possibility that the fall of mankind was planned from the beginning. Could God have wanted Eve to pick that fatal fruit? Join us on a mind-expanding journey into God’s intentions for the new human race, a journey that may not go where you think.

As we run life’s race, we need a God who knows when we’re going to cross the finish line. Erwin Lutzer brings what for some is a theological debate down to where you and I really live. What does God’s foreknowledge really mean?
January 20, 2015
Some theologians think that we make a move, and then God responds with a countermove. They say God gives us totally free will and adapts Himself to our choices as we make them. For them, the future for God is an unfinished novel.

Can you trust a God who hurls each lightning bolt to the earth during a thunderstorm? Well, the alternative is trusting a God who doesn’t know where the lightning will hit. In this message we’ll probe the mystery of God’s hand in natural disasters.

Is God involved in calamities like tsunamis, which kill thousands, or do we turn to Mother Nature as the cause? In this message you’ll hear a strong affirmation that God, indeed, is the driving force behind nature even in its most tragic moments.
