The Church of God in Service Part 4

April 2, 2026
References: Matthew 28:18-20

Dr. Abel Damina: Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord. Abel Damina is my name. I want to welcome you to this broadcast, a time of learning, a time of unlearning, and a time of relearning. The essence of this broadcast is to bring to you the revelation of Jesus Christ. The mandate of God on our ministry is the revelation of Jesus. Reintroducing Jesus to this generation, equipping the believer to know who you are in Christ, what you have in Christ, and what Christ can do through you. So get ready, fasten your seatbelts today. We're going to adventure in the scriptures.

The scriptures tell us in John 5:39, Jesus speaking to the Jews, he said, "You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, but they are they which testify of me." The Bible is Christocentric. It's a message centered on the person of Jesus Christ. So get ready today as we traverse through the pages of the scriptures, unveiling Christ so we can reveal your true identity in Christ. Because once you know who you are in Christ, then you will know what you have in Christ, and then you can be able to know what Christ can do through you.

It gives you a life of fulfillment, a life that is purpose-driven, so you can make the impact you were designed to make in this life through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Call a friend, call a loved one, tell somebody to tell somebody to hook up right now as I take you into that service where the Spirit of our God is already moving. Happy listening.

We started looking at the church of God in service. Matthew, the 28th chapter, the 18th verse.

Guest (Female): And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Dr. Abel Damina: So we have established that the emphasis is on making disciples. What we call the Great Commission is a discipleship commission. Go into all the world and make disciples, the word *matheteuo*. Go and turn men into students, into students. Go and teach, go and train men.

Teaching them, so the tool of this training will be teaching. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the earth. Amen. So it's critical to know that part of our responsibility as sons of the kingdom, part of our responsibilities as members of God's family, is to carry the mandate that has been given to us and raise disciples all over the nations of the earth. Mark chapter 16, verse 15 to 20.

Guest (Female): And he said unto them, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.

Dr. Abel Damina: And they went forth and preached everywhere. Go into all the world and preach the gospel. And we said the gospel is the news of the kingdom, or kingdom news. We said the gospel is war exploits.

We said it means that there was a war Jesus won on our behalf and we are called to carry the news all over the nations of the earth. The gospel is the news of God's kingdom, or the gospel is the story of God's kingdom. John chapter 20, verse 22, read for me.

Guest (Female): And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost."

Dr. Abel Damina: He breathed on them and said unto them, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost." Now, just the same way when Jesus turned water to wine in John chapter two, he stays in the temple and drives out those who were selling and buying in the temple, which was legitimate under the law. And remember when he drove them out, they came back the next day. So which means the driving was not a permanent driving; it was a pointer to something. So which means that's not what he was talking about. That means there's a message behind the driving away of those that were selling and buying. Look at John chapter 2:16 and John chapter 2:19.

Guest (Female): And said unto them that sold doves, "Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."

Jesus answered and said unto them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Make not my Father's house an house of merchandise." Then he calls the Father's house temple. "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." So in your study put house and temple together because it will come in handy shortly.

The word here is the Greek word *oikeia*, O-I-K-E-I-A. And the word *oikeia* is not today's language. It's not like "that's my house." The word house or *oikeia* is used for a family house. A house used for generations that have gone by and the ones that are coming after. So it's a place that binds people together in a household. Actually, that word *oikeia* is better put as a family house or a household. Now, Jesus no doubt is referring to scriptures, and we will see it very shortly.

In that verse 19 again of John chapter 2, Jesus says, "Destroy this temple after three days." He uses the word for resurrection. "I will raise it up after three days." That's a resurrection language. "I will raise it up." He didn't say, "I will build it." "I will raise it up." The word *egeiro* in the Greek, E-G-E-I-R-O. Jesus is talking about resurrection, *egeiro*. Everybody thought he was crazy. What is he talking about? John chapter 2, verse 21 to 22.

Guest (Female): But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Dr. Abel Damina: Which means they didn't interpret what he said initially according to the scriptures. Because if they had interpreted what he had said according to the scriptures, they would have understood that the body he was talking about was not a physical building; it was his own body. So when he rose from the dead, they were now able to interpret what he said according to the scriptures.

So that means Jesus, all the while you saw him with the whip, you thought he was talking about what he was doing. But he was talking about the fulfillment of the scriptures, that God would raise up a new temple, that God would raise up a new household. Now, when he rose from the dead, they remembered. Again, that word "remembered" is not like memory. The word "remembered" means he, Jesus, opened their understanding of the scriptures. They now remembered, and remember the word "remembered" is the Greek word *mimnesko*. *Mimnesko*, M-I-M-N-E-S-K-O, is the word "remembered." It's not your English "remember"; it's Bible language. *Mimnesko*. It's used many times. Let's see the application of that word *mimnesko*. Luke chapter 1, verse 52.

Guest (Female): He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy.

Dr. Abel Damina: In remembrance of his mercy. The word *mimnesko*. God cannot be the one remembering. So remembering of His mercy there is understanding of His mercy. Look at Luke 1:72, that same word "remember."

Guest (Female): To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant.

Dr. Abel Damina: And to remember His holy covenant. So it means it's used for something you say again. Something you say again. So when you say it again, those who are your audience will hear it again. Look at the use of that same word again in Luke 16:25.

Guest (Female): But Abraham said, "Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Son, remember" where Abraham in the parable of Lazarus and the rich man said, "Remember in your lifetime." That is cast your mind to it. When you say again what has been said before, you use the word *mimnesko*. It has been said before; we are saying it again. Look at Luke 23:42.

Guest (Female): And he said unto Jesus, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom." He's not saying "don't forget me." No, he's not saying "don't forget me." Look at Luke chapter 24, verse six and verse eight.

Guest (Female): He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee.

And they remembered his words.

Dr. Abel Damina: And they remembered his words. So that word *mimnesko*, "they remembered" in his resurrection, has to do with understanding. Now they understood. It's not a recall of memory but an understanding. *Mimnesko*. To bring back a fact. "Oh, that's why he said this! Oh, that's why he did that! Oh, I see. No wonder he spoke like this."

On their way to Emmaus, it was not just like Bible study, but Bible study in relation to the things that they had seen before and in relation to the things that they have heard before. Because on the way to Emmaus, Jesus said to them, "These are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all these things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms concerning me."

So you and I also, whenever we read the story of Jesus in the four gospels, we must read according to the scriptures. We must read the story of Jesus according to Genesis to Malachi. This is how we understand. John chapter 2, verse 17.

Guest (Female): And his disciples remembered that it was written, "The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up."

Dr. Abel Damina: That means the remembrance has to do with the scriptures. They remembered that it was written. It had to do with the scriptures. They were able to take what God had said before and align it with what is happening now. They were able to take what God had said before in Genesis to Malachi and align it with what was happening in the now. "Oh, they remembered!" That is, they cast their minds on the scriptures. Look at John 2:21.

Guest (Female): But he spake of the temple of his body.

When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Dr. Abel Damina: They remembered the scriptures. The disciples now remembered many prophecies of the Old Testament and they said, "Oh, okay. This is what he is doing. This is what he is doing." And their understanding opened to that fact. Their understanding aligned with the message of the scriptures. In John chapter 12, verse 14.

Guest (Female): And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written.

Dr. Abel Damina: He sat thereon as it is written. See that? He sat thereon as it is written where? In the scriptures. Look at verse 16. A whole nation is called daughter, a whole nation.

Guest (Female): These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

Dr. Abel Damina: They had done these things. That is, they are now able to cast their minds to the events of scripture. They now read the event with the present circumstances together. Look at John 14:26, pay attention.

Guest (Female): But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Dr. Abel Damina: "He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance." *Mimnesko*. To your remembrance. Question: memory or understanding? Understanding. Understanding everything I have said to you. When did this understanding take place? When he rose. What was the event after the resurrection where understanding took place? On the way to Emmaus. That's right. Now, take note of this, that he brought things to their remembrance or to their understanding. Look at John chapter 2 because in that John chapter 2, verse 16, 17, and 18. Read again.

Guest (Female): And said unto them that sold doves, "Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."

And his disciples remembered that it was written, "The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up."

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, "What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?"

Dr. Abel Damina: How is that related? Remember in 2 Samuel the seventh chapter, God spoke to David. Remember again, we are looking at the church of God in service. When we say "church service," what are we talking about? That's why we're traveling all these kilometers to finally arrive at what we mean by "church service."

Remember that in 2 Samuel chapter 7, verse number 12.

Guest (Female): And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

Dr. Abel Damina: I will establish his kingdom. That is when David dies. "Set up thy seed after thee" means to raise, to set up in that context means "I will raise." It's the same way you have the same word *egeiro* where we read in the beginning in the Greek. It means to raise. Look at verse 13 of that 2 Samuel chapter 7, verse 13.

Guest (Female): He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

Dr. Abel Damina: "I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever." This cannot be Solomon because Solomon's throne cannot be forever. It will be the throne of Jesus that the Spirit of God was speaking through Prophet Samuel about. So he calls the house his kingdom. His kingdom. "Your kingdom forever." Please pay attention. And the kingdom of God is a family. The kingdom of God is a household. The Hebrew word *qum*, Q-U-M, where you take the word *egeiro* from.

So Jesus is obviously fulfilling scripture from his birth to his sufferings to his temptations to his persecutions. He is fulfilling scripture. The birth is according to the scriptures. His sufferings are according to the scriptures. His persecutions are according to the scriptures. Even the areas where he was tempted is according to the scriptures. His crucifixion is according to the scriptures. His burial is according to the scriptures. Even his resurrection and the events of him being in the grave is according to the scriptures.

Since we were not in the grave with him, we didn't see what happened in the grave three days. By the spirit of prophecy, David foresaw what would happen. So in order for us to know what happened in the grave, we go back to the prophecy of David and we see the impact of what the grave produced, and we can by prophecy ascertain what happened in the grave.

That's why people like the writer of Hebrews can now tell us what happened from the grave to the throne. They can teach us, brother Paul, what happened from the cross to the throne. He was not on the cross, he was not in the grave, but from the scriptures by prophecy because everything that will happen will be according to the scriptures. That's why it's not just history; it's history communicated as theology. History communicated as theology.

In John chapter 1, John calls Jesus *logos*, L-O-G-O-S. The Hebrew word for *logos* is the word *dabar*, D-A-B-B-A-R. The Hebrew word for *logos* is the word *dabar*. *Logos*, the *logos* of God. This word can be found in Genesis, the 11th chapter, the first verse.

Guest (Female): And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

Dr. Abel Damina: The whole earth was of one language and one speech. Because both John and Jesus were reading from Genesis to Malachi. Both John who wrote the book of John and Jesus all read from the scriptures. Now, so Genesis 11:1, "one language" is the word "one *dabar*," D-A-B-B-A-R. So it's used for speech, speech. "One *dabar*." So the word *dabar* means speech. Don't miss that; that's important. The word *dabar*, which is the Greek word *logos*, means speech. Genesis 12:17.

Guest (Female): And the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.

Dr. Abel Damina: "Because of." The word "because of" is the word *dabar*. "Because of Sarai." Used for reason of something. So the word *dabar* means reason of, reason of. Number one, it means speech. Number two, it means reason of something or an idea, an idea. Look at Genesis chapter 15, verse one again. Let's see the use of that word *dabar*.

Guest (Female): After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, "Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward."

Dr. Abel Damina: "I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward." After these things. The word "things" there in Genesis 15:1 is the word *dabar*. Used for events, used for events. So the word *dabar* means speech or reason of something or idea or events. Genesis 15, verse four, the word *dabar*.

Guest (Female): And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, "This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir."

Dr. Abel Damina: The word of the Lord. The *dabar* of the Lord. Which of course, the word of the Lord has visions and speech. The *dabar* of the Lord. So *dabar* means the word of the Lord. Don't miss this because this is very important. Then Genesis 18, verse 14.

Guest (Female): Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Dr. Abel Damina: The word "any thing" is the word *dabar*. "Any thing." Then Genesis 18:25.

Guest (Female): That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Dr. Abel Damina: The word "after this manner" is the word *dabar*. "After this manner." Genesis 19:8.

Guest (Female): "Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof."

Dr. Abel Damina: That's an action. "Do unto them as it is good in your eyes." An action. So *dabar* is an action or a deed. Genesis 19:21, you will see the word "concerning." So *dabar* means "concerning." Then Genesis 19:22, you will see again the word "any thing."

So the word *dabar* refers to a man's actions. *Dabar*: a man's actions, activities, a man's thoughts, and speech. A man's actions, activities, a man's thoughts, and speech. So sometimes when you hear us say what that word means is this, this is how we traveled. And sometimes we spare you the travel to just give you that word. But sometimes we have to take you through that travel so you appreciate how we arrive at biblical words.

So that when somebody is using Macmillan dictionary, you can see the laziness in his study. Because biblical words can only be interpreted, described, by the scriptures itself. That's why the most intelligent book on the planet is the Bible, because it is the only book that interprets itself. It does not rely on external sources to interpret. It's self-interpreted.

It is that self-interpretation of scripture we call exegesis. And it is by that self-interpretation you arrive at the truth of the scriptures. You can't be lazy about it. See how we traveled to arrive at the meaning of one word *dabar*. When you hear me say *epignosis*, you don't know how we arrive at *epignosis*. But I can take you through scripture and tell you how the word appeared in different places that makes *epignosis* accurate, precise, revealed knowledge.

So that's the way we study and that's the way we arrive at biblical words. So when you read "The word of the Lord" in the Old Testament, it's not words. The word of the Lord in the Old Testament is God personally carrying out something. And the word of the Lord, that is God personally carrying out something. And John tells us the Word is God. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word is God. So when he says, "And the word of the Lord came to me," it is God who came to me. Because the Word is God. The Word was with God, or the Word points to God, and the Word is God.

Now, and then that word, which came to many of them in the Old Testament, which is God, now became flesh and dwelt amongst us and we beheld his glory. So John is saying it's Jesus that we saw in the Old Testament. When the Old Testament people said, "And the word of the Lord came unto me," it was Jesus that came unto them. Because Jesus was in the beginning as God. All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made.

Jesus was before the incarnation. He didn't start at the incarnation. He was before the incarnation. All things were made by him and without him was not anything made. So if he made all things, he couldn't have started at the incarnation. So Jesus is God Almighty who became a man for the purpose of salvation. So John is saying that what we saw in the Old Testament was Jesus.

So in 1 Samuel chapter 3, the word of the Lord therefore, ladies and gentlemen, is not sentences. The word of the Lord refers to actions, actions, or His thoughts, His thoughts, or His being, or His speech. Actions, thoughts, His being, His speech coming into someone. The word of the Lord is His actions, His thoughts, His being, His speech coming into someone. Having said that, 1 Samuel, the third chapter, the first verse.

Guest (Female): And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

Dr. Abel Damina: Notice verse one. Of course, Samuel heard the voice. The word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. But of course, Samuel heard his name two times. And then the third time he came to Eli in verse 8. Read verse 8 to 10 for me, same chapter.

Guest (Female): And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here am I; for thou didst call me." And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child.

Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, "Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, 'Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, "Samuel, Samuel." Then Samuel answered, "Speak; for thy servant heareth."

Dr. Abel Damina: Samuel answered. So verse one, when he said "the word of the Lord," it was God himself personally present in what He was doing. It was God himself. The word of the Lord, the Word was with God, the Word was God. So the word of the Lord came unto me, it was God himself who came. Now, Jeremiah the first chapter, the second verse.

Guest (Female): To whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

Dr. Abel Damina: To whom the word of the Lord came. Look at verse four.

Guest (Female): Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying...

Dr. Abel Damina: "Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying." Verse nine.

Guest (Female): Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, "Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth."

Dr. Abel Damina: Then the Lord touched my mouth because the word of the Lord was the Lord himself. Then the Lord touched my mouth. So the truth is, the word of the Lord speaks of God being personally present. The word of the Lord. He came. But notice, notice here. In the four gospels, the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us. So he wasn't coming anymore. He was now flesh. So John is saying that Jesus that we read is the word of the Lord. Jesus that we read is the word of the Lord, which he saw the scriptures being fulfilled in God being a man in Jesus.

God being a man in Jesus is the scriptures fulfilled. So that's not the first time God will come to men in the four gospels. But that's the first time God will become a man. That's the first time God will become a man. Now, if you go back to Genesis the 48th chapter, the 15th and 16th verse. Read for me because that's a scripture to KIV.

Guest (Female): And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day..."

Dr. Abel Damina: "The God who fed me all my life long unto this day." Where Jacob said, "God before my fathers, God who is my shepherd, God who is the messenger." God who is my shepherd, God who is the messenger. Look at that Genesis 48:15 to 16 again.

Guest (Female): And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day..."

Dr. Abel Damina: He calls him "the God before my fathers," "the God who is my shepherd," "the God who is the messenger." So Jesus fits all of these. He is the God-Shepherd, he is also called the Servant. He fits all of that. He is the word of the Lord. So when he said "my hour has not come" and he mentioned being glorified. Why? Well, don't forget our focus is the church in service.

Jesus mentions being glorified. What do you mean by being glorified? It's the word *doxazo* in the Greek, D-O-X-A-X-O. Glorified. Taken from the Old Testament phraseology. Mark this. Out in Genesis is the word *kabod*, C-H-A-B-O-D. *Kabod*, glory, is an Old Testament word. When you say "glorified" or when you say "glory," you're saying *kabod*. Glory is the word *kabod*. Now, what is *kabod*, C-H-A-B-O-D? In Genesis 31:1, the word *kabod*.

Guest (Female): And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, "Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory."

Dr. Abel Damina: Used for wealth. Divided, used for wealth. So when you hear glory, it means wealth. Wealth. Genesis 45:13.

Guest (Female): "And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither."

Dr. Abel Damina: So the word glory means position and influence. "You shall tell my father of all that you have seen." Position, influence. Then Genesis 49:6. So the word glory is wealth, position, influence. 49 verse six of Genesis.

Guest (Female): "O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall."

Dr. Abel Damina: So the word glory is the word honor. So wealth, position, influence, honor. So every time we say glory, we're saying wealth, honor, position, influence. That's the meaning of the word glory. *Doxazo* or *doxa*. Exodus 16:7 and 17, write down and study at home. Exodus 16:7 and 17. Exodus 24:16 to 17. A physical demonstration. The word glory, a physical demonstration. Then you can read Exodus 16:17, Exodus 16:7, Exodus 24:16 to 17, Exodus 28:2, Exodus 33:18. Let's put that one up for me.

Guest (Female): And he said, "I beseech thee, shew me thy glory."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Show me thy glory." Wow, what did he mean? We'll get there in a bit. Then take down the following scriptures for further study. Exodus 29:43, Exodus 33:22, Exodus chapter 40, verse 34 to 35. Then again, Exodus 33:18. Read for me.

Guest (Female): And he said, "I beseech thee, shew me thy glory."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Show me thy glory." Show me your position. Show me your influence. Show me your wealth. Show me what you have. That's what Moses was asking. Show me your wealth, your position, your influence, your honor. Show me what you have. You know what Moses was asking for was: "God, become a human. Let me know you." And we will see that in a bit in this series.

And God said to Moses, "It's not yet time. There's an appointed time where I will become a human. You're asking for what you will die and it has not happened." But God says, "I will make you see from time. You will see it from afar. You will see it from years." But he didn't see it the way we saw it in the four gospels. That's why prophets and kings desired to see and didn't see. But blessed are your eyes for you see.

John said, "We beheld his glory. We saw his glory. That which Moses wanted and didn't have, we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. And of that fullness, because we saw it, we have all received grace and for grace." Jesus full of grace. Glory to God. For God became flesh and dwelt among us. So the glory of God, His wealth, His position, His honor are found in a man. The glory of God, the wealth of God, the influence of God, the position of God, the honor of God is found in a man.

So Jesus is God's *logos*. Jesus is the *dabar* of God. Jesus is God who reveals His glory. Jesus is God who reveals His word and reveals His reasons. Therefore it was important for the apostles who wrote his story to go back and read the story of the Old Testament into the four gospels. So when they write, they will say "that it might be fulfilled which was spoken." They are reading the story of Jesus from the Old Testament scriptures. John 20:22.

Guest (Female): And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost."

Dr. Abel Damina: Now, remember John tells us there is an hour, right? "My hour," right? Okay. So in that hour, Jesus is glorified. So let's quickly run through the book of John. Are you in the building? Let's quickly run through the book of John. John chapter 2, verse 4.

Guest (Female): Jesus saith unto her, "Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come."

Dr. Abel Damina: So Jesus is talking about wine, wine. In John chapter 2, verse 16 and 17, Jesus talks about his Father's house. He talks about temple. So you have wine, you have house, you have temple. In John chapter 3, verse 3 and 5.

Guest (Female): Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Dr. Abel Damina: Now, when people hear "born of water," a lot of people have misunderstood that to be water baptism. But far from it. "Born of water" does not have any connection with baptism. Not even by mistake. Because the next verse says, "That which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit." Context is king in Bible interpretation. Context. That which is born of what—Read for me John 3:6 to 8.

Guest (Female): "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, 'Ye must be born again.' The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

Dr. Abel Damina: So this is a conversation going on between Jesus and Nick at night. You know Nick at night, right? Nicodemus. So the discourse is going on, and as Jesus is talking to Nick, Nick is asking questions and Jesus is putting Nick right. In the course of that discourse, it got up to John chapter 3, verse 14. Remember, they've started talking about water, spirit, kingdom, born again, and all that. When it got to verse 14, read for me verse 14.

Guest (Female): "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up."

Dr. Abel Damina: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness. Then verse 16.

Guest (Female): "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Dr. Abel Damina: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. So for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life is what it meant for Moses to lift up the serpent in the wilderness, which is the reason why a man is born of water that is of the Spirit, which is the reason why that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit. And the discourse still continues. They are not talking water here, far from it. He's speaking about spirit. He's speaking about everlasting life. Which means John—Are you following?—chapter 4, verse 10 now. He went further.

Guest (Female): Jesus answered and said unto her, "If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, 'Give me to drink'; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."

Dr. Abel Damina: And this is when he asked the woman for water. And she said, "What have I got to do with you? We have nothing in common, you Jews; we are Samaritans." If only you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for water, you would have given me your ordinary water and I would give you living water. Wonderful, water. So we read water in John 3:5, we read life in John 3:16. So Jesus has combined both together. He now calls it living water. Water, life. In chapter 4, he advances the discourse, combines water, life as living water. Are you following? Living water. John 4:13 to 14.

Guest (Female): Jesus answered and said unto her, "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

Dr. Abel Damina: Now you cannot take that literal. "Shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." If someone has a well in his stomach, he needs more than a doctor. That's nothing literal. And remember: springing up into everlasting life. The discourse is still on. How many of you remember I've taught in this church that context is not just verses before and verses after? That sometimes context can be five chapters before the particular chapter where you are and another five chapters after. In fact, sometimes context can be the entire book. Hello? I said hello. So the context of this water discussion that started in chapter 3 continues. Chapter 7, verse 37 of John.

Guest (Female): In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink."

Guest (Female): "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."

Guest (Female): (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Dr. Abel Damina: But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, the Spirit. Water speaks of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive. So we have life, we have water together. So that means water in John 3:5 is life. Water in John 3:5 is symbolic of life. So John 7:39. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive. For the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified. So life and spirit and water are the same. Water is symbolic of life, life which is spirit.

So anywhere I hear life, it is referring to spirit. Anywhere I hear life, it is referring to spirit. So when he says in John 5:24—read for me.

Guest (Female): "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

Dr. Abel Damina: Has everlasting life or what? Has what? Spirit. Has everlasting life or spirit. So when he says in John 10:10, "I am come that you might have life and be abundant," or "I am come that you might have what? Spirit." Spirit. In John 8:12.

Guest (Female): Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Dr. Abel Damina: "He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of what? Light of life or light of spirit." Because life is spirit. John 9:5.

Guest (Female): "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

Dr. Abel Damina: Is he still talking about the gift of the spirit? "I am the light of the world" because life is life. Life is life. "In him was life and the life was the light." So life is life or light is what? Spirit. Are we teaching? Light is life or light is spirit. John 11:25.

Guest (Female): Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."

Dr. Abel Damina: "I am the resurrection and the life" or the resurrection and what? The spirit. So when he says resurrection and life, he's referring to the gift of the spirit. No wonder in John 6:63.

Guest (Female): "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

Dr. Abel Damina: "The words I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life." Life, spirit, spirit, life. Receive the spirit means receive life. Receive life means receive the spirit. The spirit is life because of righteousness. Teaching good. So is spirit alive or spirit which is life? Correct. Spirit which is life. So that means the water, the wine, the house, the temple, the life all refer to the spirit. Teaching good here. Is it making sense? So means the water is what? As I mention, you mention what you understand. Water? Spirit. Wine? Spirit. House? Spirit. Temple? Spirit. Life? Spirit. All spirit. These are all spiritual realities. None of them is a physical thing. They are spiritual realities. So in John 13:8.

Guest (Female): Peter saith unto him, "Thou shalt never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me."

Dr. Abel Damina: When he washed their feet and Peter said, "Don't do it, Lord. You're too big for that." Jesus said, "You don't know what I do." Look at verse seven.

Guest (Female): Jesus answered and said unto him, "What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter."

Dr. Abel Damina: "You don't know what I'm doing right now, but you will know hereafter. If I don't wash your feet, you don't have a part with me." He's not talking about water from the tap. Now, look at John 13:10 so we can get it.

Guest (Female): Jesus saith to him, "He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all."

Dr. Abel Damina: "You are clean, but not all." So when preachers say Judas lost salvation, they have not read well. All the disciples of Jesus were clean minus one, because Judas was never saved, talk more of losing. "You are clean. The twelve of you are clean, but not all, because one of you have not still believed." That's why when he said, "One of you shall betray me," even Judas said, "Is it I?" "Is it I?" Give me verse 11 of John 13.

Guest (Female): For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, "Ye are not all clean."

Dr. Abel Damina: He knew the betrayer was not born again. That's why I say, "All of you are clean minus one of you whose heart is not with me." He has not been washed. Now, this washing, is it physical? Well, let's go to the scriptures and begin the journey. Ezekiel, the 36th chapter, the 25th verse.

Guest (Female): "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you."

Guest (Female): "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

Guest (Female): "And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

Dr. Abel Damina: "I will put my spirit within you." Is that water? Is that life? Is that spirit? So the water is what? Is spirit. And the water is what? Life. Okay? Now, so John 15:3.

Guest (Female): "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Now you are clean through the water and soap." Huh? "Now you are clean through the word, through the word which I have spoken unto you." So John's emphasis was life and that life was what? Spirit. So here is John. Now quickly, when Jesus rose from the dead, is he now glorified? Yes. He is about to bring all the words to pass. So John 20:22. He is risen, he is now about to bring all the words to part. John 20:22 again.

Guest (Female): And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost."

Dr. Abel Damina: So now we have said he didn't put his nostrils on them. No, that's not what he did. That's not what he did. When I started ministry newly, they taught us that's what he did. So when we prayed for people, say, "Come close. Boom, boom." So sometimes because the air coming out of our nose is weak, it cannot give us the falling on the ground of the people. So we now do "Boom! Boom!" And people just be falling all over.

God honored His word and had mercy on our ignorance because at the time of ignorance he overlooked. Not at this age now will I go around doing "Boom, boom." I know better. But we did it. Me, I did it plenty. "Come close. Boom, boom. Boom, boom." 25 of you in the next two minutes cannot stand where you are. Ushers, ushers, watch. "Boom, boom, boom." You hear "Boom, boom, boom, yeah! yeah!" all over the place, all over the place.

We did it. Doesn't mean it is right. That you did something and there was result doesn't mean it is right. Moses struck the rock, water still came out, but that was false doctrine preached with water coming out of it. So that you did something and things happened doesn't validate it. Truth is not validated by miracles. Truth is validated by truth. It is truth because it is truth. It's not miracles that thing they call result.

God in His mercy loves man. He will bypass man's foolishness and have mercy on people and do His work among people. It's not a validation for the foolishness of the preacher. It is His mercy towards the people that are ignorant of what the foolish preacher is doing. Am I teaching here? It's God's mercy. When people are saying "but we did it we have result," it shows where they are. Because people who know, know that result doesn't validate truth. Truth is truth because simple, simple, simple.

Otherwise, people go to native doctors and they get results. People go to soothsayers and diviners and sorcerers and necromancers who invoke dead people to talk to them. And their dead fathers come to talk to them about family issues. And it's so real. But the fact that it happened doesn't mean it is true. It's just a familiar spirit that is conversant with that family that came out of the dead, or that came out of the tomb and spoke with the person. The dead and the living have nothing in common. They never connect.

Say, "I hear you." They never connect. They never connect. They never connect. That's why show how Moses disobeyed God. God said, "Speak." He struck. Yet God allowed the water to come for the people, but dealt with Moses. Told him, "You've done it, eh? You won't go to the Promised Land. That's your punishment. You'll not have the credit of taking them in."

Moses didn't need the Promised Land anyway. He was not interested because what they were going for in the Promised Land, he has already seen it is Christ and he knew that that land was empty. So why will I even waste my time going? I don't need the journey. But the painful thing for Moses was not that he didn't go; is that he didn't have the credit of taking the people he brought out to their destination. Joshua had to do it for him.

And to show you that Moses didn't lose salvation because preachers will now use that to teach loss of salvation. That's why on the Mount of Transfiguration, when Jesus showed up, Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus to show you that there is no friction in heaven, oh. These guys are still in good records. And when Peter misunderstood the vision and turned it to a worship service, Moses disappeared. And a voice came out of heaven to put the record straight. "This is my beloved son, oh. This is the one that will represent me well. Hear this one, not the other ones. You have missed the point, so let's correct before you start worshipping three different things."

Yeah, yeah. So now the breathing there is not the Greek word *emfusao*, E-M-P-H-U-S-E-O. That's the word breath, E-M-P-H-U-S-E-O. It means to blow into something like when you blow into a balloon and put life into it. To blow into something. Now, it's not an external action; it's an internal action. Internal. So it cannot be "Hoo!" Uh-uh. It is breath from within, not from outside. It's an internal work. It's not on their head it happened; it happened inside them. So how did he do it for him to have breathed on them from inside?

Now, Jesus according to the scriptures is a prophet. The Bible calls Jesus a prophet. Now, his own prophet is a different one. Let's look at it quickly. Deuteronomy 18:15.

Guest (Female): "The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Unto him you shall hearken." The Lord shall raise up—that's resurrection language. The Lord shall raise up a prophet. Him shall you hear. So if he was talking about another prophet, if it's just prophet, what about Joshua? So it's not another prophet he was talking about. He said this person you will hearken to him. He's talking about Jesus. So the whole of Israel were waiting for this prophet because Moses already told them that the Lord shall raise another prophet like unto me. So they all started looking for this prophet. Okay, now watch. Luke 24:19, 20, 21.

Guest (Female): And he said unto them, "What things?" And they said unto him, "Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done."

Dr. Abel Damina: So there was a prophet who was supposed to redeem Israel. So a prophet is someone who has God's word. Please don't miss that. A prophet is someone who has God's word. Abraham was called a prophet. Genesis 20:7, *nabi*, prophet. So a prophet simply means someone who you give your word to, then he says it for you. That's a prophet. Someone you give your word to and he says it for you.

So usually in their times deities or what we call gods will have their spokesperson who will speak on their behalf to lesser mortals, lesser mortals. So God picks Abraham to be his prophet. Same way, God calls Aaron to be Moses' prophet. Aaron shall be the prophet of Moses. Exodus 4:15 and 16 and Exodus 7:1. Read for me Exodus 7:1.

Guest (Female): And the Lord said unto Moses, "See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet," but you shall be a god to Pharaoh. So God was messing up Pharaoh big time. Because Pharaoh was seen in Egypt like God. So God say, "No Moses, you will not talk to Pharaoh. Since they think Pharaoh is God, you Moses, you're bigger than Pharaoh. You will not talk to Pharaoh. You will use Aaron to talk to Pharaoh. You will treat Pharaoh like a lesser mortal."

I've given you a prophet and you will be like a god. So Aaron would be saying what I tell you to say. You will tell Aaron, Aaron will say it to them. You will have a prophet who will be speaking to him. God said, "Moses, you will treat Pharaoh like a mere mortal and you're higher than him." So every time you saw Moses talk to Pharaoh, it was Aaron who was talking. Moses would tell Aaron, "Tell him this." "Okay, what did he say?" "Okay, tell him like this."

So Exodus was a show of strength. And Pharaoh would get angry. Moses would say, "Aaron, speak again." So it was to show that there was authority and power over principalities and dominions. So a prophet is someone when you give your word or whom you give your word to. A prophet is not someone who permanently sees visions or permanently prophesies. That's why I say it over and over again. In Deuteronomy 13, Moses said, "If there be a prophet who has a sign and wonder and that sign and wonder come to pass, then when he is done with the sign and wonder, he now gives you words which are not God's words," he say, "reject him with his signs and wonders."

Even if he does miracles and he gives you words that you cannot confirm from the scripture, throw him and his miracles out. Because any soothsayer, any diviner, anyone that sleeps on the mountain with spirits for 40 days can come back and razzmatazz people. Don't be wowed with spectacular things. No, the true mark of a prophet is his ability to bring Christ out of the scriptures. Bring Christ out of the scriptures because that's the word that is settled forever. He equates a false doctrine with murder. So a prophet is one who primarily speaks.

So Jesus is now called a prophet. So we're going to pay attention to his words, right? Hello, if Jesus is a prophet, what are we going to pay attention to? His words. We're going to pay attention to his words. So how is he distinguished from other prophets? Number one, Moses said His words you have to heed. So what is it about His words? What is it about the words of Jesus? Ezekiel 37. So God takes Ezekiel to the valley of dry bones. Dry bones means people that have died. Like actually like a cemetery in a vision. Give me Ezekiel 37:2 to 4 as a round off.

Guest (Female): And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

And he said unto me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" And I answered, "O Lord God, thou knowest."

Again he said unto me, "Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord."

Dr. Abel Damina: Now how many of you know Ezekiel never did this? He never did this. Ezekiel is seeing the vision of that prophet. He's seeing the operation of that prophet in a vision. Prophesy means "speak my word to it" or can I say "speak the words of life" or "speak the words of resurrection." Ezekiel never did this; this is about Jesus. Look at Ezekiel 37:5 and 6.

Guest (Female): Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; "Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord."

Dr. Abel Damina: So the word spirit there and life are one and the same. So what happens, verse nine?

Guest (Female): Then said he unto me, "Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live."

Dr. Abel Damina: "Breath" there is the word *naphash*, breath, N-A-P-H-A-S-H. It is a verb. It's the very word in Genesis 2:7, to put life into something. *Naphash*, to put air into something. It means to blow, *naphash*. You see that word in Ezekiel 22:20.

Guest (Female): "As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you."

Dr. Abel Damina: "To blow the fire." Have it again in Ezekiel 22:21 you can read at home, Haggai 1:9. You also see it in Job 20:26, "to blow," then you see it in Job 41:20, "to blow into something." Then you see it again in Isaiah 54:16, "to blow." "Blow upon the bones by my word." It means speak my word to the bones. To blow upon, to breathe upon means to speak. Speak my word. That's the meaning of breath. Can I say "speak the words of eternal life"? Yes. Can I also say "speak the word of the spirit"? Yes. So in John 20:22, when it says Jesus breathed into them, is he fulfilling prophecy? Yes.

That's why in John 6, where Peter said John 6:68, "to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." That is the prophetic ministry of Jesus Peter was recognizing. The life that will bring the bones alive are in your mouth. That's when he speaks dry bones will come alive. When he speaks, the spirit of God will take residence in man. When Jesus speaks, men will become God's house. When Jesus speaks, a new temple will be raised. Glory to God.

That's why on the road to Emmaus, Jesus spoke and their understanding opened. Did he blow into them that day? Did he blow into them that day? Did Jesus blow into them? On that day on the way to Emmaus, did he blow into them? Did the spirit enter them? Did the breath enter them? Did they come alive on that day? They came alive. Did he cause the spirit of God to take up residence in them? Did he? Did he turn them into the temples of God?

How did he do that? By speaking. The breath of God. At that point, did they become the Father's house? Did they become the Father's temple? Do they have the well of water now springing on their inside up to everlasting life? You too, how did you come alive? The word was spoken. Did you hear the word? Did you receive the word? Did the word breathe on you? Did life enter you? Did God take up residence inside you? Did you become the house of God? Did you become the temple of God?

Did you become one with the spirit of God? Is He in you right now? Stand on your feet if He is in you right now. Glory to God forevermore. That means when you read words like this in the scripture, you must go back to the Old Testament, Genesis to Malachi, and see where it was used. That Jesus is that redeemer, Jesus is that prophet, whose word now redeems a people and they are called the church of the living God. Glory to God.

Oh my goodness, the word of God is life. The Bible tells us the entrance of God's word giveth light, and it giveth understanding to the simple. As you keep listening, the light of God's word rises out of the rightly divided word of truth, illuminates your mind, illuminates your heart, and brings you face to face with your realities in Christ Jesus. In Ephesians chapter three, verse three, Brother Paul, speaking about the mystery, the Old Testament, he said, "Whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ."

So there is a knowledge in the mystery of Christ. The word mystery is the word *mysterion* in the Greek. It means that which is concealed. And then he says how that by revelation, the word revelation is the word *apokalypsis*. It means that which is revealed. So the revelation of the scriptures unveils the mysteries. Revelation is the New Testament, mystery is the Old Testament. But it will take reading and learning to come to a place of full understanding, a precise and accurate knowledge of Christ and you in Christ.

Brother Daniel would say, "I understood by books." So there's a place of books in equipping you soundly with the message of Christ. Brother Paul would write to Timothy. He says to Timothy, "Till I come, give attendance to reading." Jesus speaking to those Jews says, "You do err because you know not the scriptures nor the power of God." Oftentimes Jesus would say to the Jews, "Have you not read?" is the word *anaginosko* in the Greek. It means "Are you reading and not paying attention?"

I want to quickly recommend for you a plethora of books I have written. They are written with an intent to bring you doctrinal clarity, answer your questions doctrinally, and bring you to a place of accurate understanding, a precise knowledge of Christ and you in Christ.
