The Church of God in Service Part 37
Dr. Abel Damina: The word of the Lord has free course, has free course, has free course. The word has free course. The word is glorified. The word is glorified. The word is glorified. Thank you, Lord. Lift your hands and begin to give Him praise. Begin to bless the name of Jesus. Thank you, Father.
In the name of Jesus. Father, we rejoice that this morning we have this another opportunity to come before Your holy, precious, written word. Lord, we rejoice that our minds are illuminated by the entrance of Your word today, so we are not forgetful hearers but doers of the word.
Therefore, I declare that as Your word comes forth, Your people are built up, equipped, edified. Whatever is not planted by God is rooted out. We rebuke sickness, we rebuke disease and oppression of the enemy. We command it to end and cease right now in the name of Jesus. Thank you that revelation knowledge grows big in our hearts until nothing else matters. And we thank You that at the end of this service, we will all be edified, built up, and Jesus glorified. In Jesus' name we pray, and every believer says a powerful amen.
Glory! Lift your right hands to heaven. Let's release our faith together as we say these words. I am born of God. I am born of the word. The word of God is my nature. I do not struggle to do the word. I do the word naturally. Therefore, today, I will understand the word of His grace. I will be built up. By the end of this service, I will never be the same. Never, ever be the same again. In Jesus' name, and every believer says a powerful amen.
Glory! Glory! Are we excited to fellowship in the word and learn and grow? Can we celebrate our fellowship with a shout? Is that a celebration shout or what? Glory! I like you to walk around two, three people. Shake somebody. Tell him you will be blessed because I came. Greet somebody this morning and just shake somebody this morning. You will be blessed because I came. Oh, glory, glory, glory, glory. Hallelujah. Thank You, Lord Jesus. Hallelujah. Amen. Grab your pen, your notebook, your Bible. You can be seated with your sweet, smart self this morning.
All right, we're still examining the church of God in service, and we're looking at spiritual warfare and the work of ministry. The spiritual warfare and the work of ministry. Let's look at our scriptures quickly. Mark chapter 16, verse number 15. Mark chapter 16, verse 15. PJ, let's go.
Guest (Female): And He said unto them, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Dr. Abel Damina: Amen. So they went and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, confirming His word with signs following. Amen. So He gave them a mandate, and they obeyed and went forth, and the Lord was working with them to carry out the mandate.
However, we have taken time to explain that there are certain details we need to be aware of. So, Ephesians chapter 6, from verse 10 to 12. Ephesians chapter 6, from verse 10 to 12.
Guest (Female): Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Dr. Abel Damina: So we began to talk about spiritual warfare, and we said it is not a word in the Bible, but it's a coinage that gives an idea that there is a conflict. There is a fight, but it's not like a fight like physical fight. The fight there is the word "wrestle." The word "wrestle" there is the word *palé*, which means to ward off. Ward off deception, ward off the schemes of the devil, and ward off every form of persecution that the enemy will bring to the believer.
Now look at 2 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 4. 2 Corinthians chapter 10, verse number 4, PJ.
Guest (Female): For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
Dr. Abel Damina: Weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they're mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Now observe the word "wrestling" and the word "warfare." Now remember, it's not against flesh and blood. All right, so we're going to look at that in a few minutes.
The word "wrestle," translated from the word which means to ward off something, to ward off something. And then "flesh and blood" is the Greek word *sarx*, S-A-R-X, which implies human nature in its frailty. So our wrestle is not against human nature. Our wrestle is not against human beings. And we took time to lay some foundation to that in the previous service this morning. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 22 to 23, PJ. Ephesians 1:22 to 23.
Guest (Female): And hath put all things under His feet and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.
Dr. Abel Damina: Now it's important to understand that the Bible was not written in chapter and verses. In fact, when the Bible was written, there were no punctuation. All right, and there were no chapters, there were no verses. So which means without the verses, it would be to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body. To be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all, and you. The fullness of Him that filleth all in all, and you.
Now remember, He spoke about you already as a member of His household. In that Ephesians, He talks about you being a part of His family. He says you that were dead in sins and trespasses He had quickened you. He has set you apart. Okay. But God, who is rich in mercy for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins and trespasses, had quickened us together, raised us up together, made us sit together in the heavenlies. So a man not in Christ is dead. And the only need at that time of that man is the gospel of Christ. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 1, PJ. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 1 and 2.
Guest (Female): And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.
Dr. Abel Damina: Now the word "air" there was translated from the Greek word *pneuma*, P-N-E-U-M-A. It's the same word for spirit. So he states that the spirit that works in the unbeliever is the spirit that works in the children of disobedience. The spirit that works in the unbeliever is the spirit that works in the children of disobedience. The word "works" there was translated from the Greek word *energeo*, which implies an ongoing activity, effectiveness. *Energeo*, effectiveness or a place of primary assignment.
So which means that the primary place of the activity of Satan is in man. The primary place of the activity of Satan is in man. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 3 and 4 says, among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, had quickened us together with Christ. By grace you are saved. And has raised us up together, made us sit together in the heavenlies in Christ.
So He gives us a contrast. There are the children of disobedience, which will mean men who are not saved by grace through faith. The children of disobedience are men who are not saved by grace through faith. Because that same Ephesians chapter 2, verse 8 says, for by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. So Brother Paul made an emphasis of salvation by grace through faith, not of works, but the gift of God.
Now, the question will be: believe what? Because he spoke of the power that He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, the power of His resurrection. Where Paul now begins to say that the right hand of the Father, where we are risen in Christ, is far above all principalities and powers. Remember in Ephesians 1:22, he called us the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all. So what power was Paul referring to in Ephesians chapter 1, verse 21? PJ, read for me. Ephesians chapter 1, verse number 21.
Guest (Female): Far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.
Dr. Abel Damina: Now understand that he called it power of His resurrection. Now, so let's investigate the word "power." Brother Paul explained it previously in Ephesians chapter 1, verse 19, PJ. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 19.
Guest (Female): And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
Dr. Abel Damina: What is the exceeding greatness of His power? Greatness of His power. So Brother Paul lets us see that the power is toward us. The power is toward us, and that power is His mighty power which He wrought in Christ. The power is towards us, and that power is His mighty power which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. And this is the power that is at work in the believer. This is the power that is at work in the believer.
So the children of disobedience are the men who do not believe the sufferings of Christ, which is the power of His resurrection. The children of disobedience are the men who do not believe in the sufferings of Christ, which is the power of His resurrection. And those people are called unbelievers.
So when he said we wrestle not against flesh and blood, he implied that though we will see men in the action, the inspiration behind their actions is the devil. We see men in action, but the inspiration behind their action is the devil. The prince of the power of the *pneuma*, the air, the spirit that works in the children of disobedience. The children of disobedience are the tools. They are the vessels of Satan. The children of disobedience are the tools, they are the vessels of Satan. In some cases, they are rulers, people in influential positions. They are the prince of this world. And we will see that example in a few minutes. Ephesians chapter 4, verse 5 to 7, PJ. Acts chapter 4, not Ephesians. Acts chapter 4, verse 5 to 7.
Guest (Female): And it came to pass on the morrow that their leaders and elders and scribes and Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, "By what power or by what name have ye done this?"
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, "Ye rulers of the people and elders of Israel, if we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole."
Dr. Abel Damina: Talking about that man at the gate beautiful in Acts chapter 3. Next, next verse.
Guest (Female): Be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Dr. Abel Damina: Then go to verse 19 of the same chapter.
Guest (Female): But Peter and John answered and said unto them, "Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done. For the man was above forty years old on whom this miracle of healing was showed.
Dr. Abel Damina: So a miracle happened, and because of the miracle, the rulers of the city, the people in government and in position, summoned the people that did miracles and subjected them to ridicule and warned them not to use the name of Jesus to perform miracles. Now in the physical, you will see people in government, people in positions of authority going against the work of God. But behind those people are demons, evil spirits, evil spirits.
So now they warned them not to preach in the name of Jesus. And these guys went back home because they beat them up. They gave them the beating of their lives. So when they let them go, they went to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. Read for me verse 24 of Acts chapter 4. Let's see the action they took. Give us audio on the mic.
Guest (Female): And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, "Lord, Thou art God, which hast made heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is. Who by the mouth of Thy servant David hast said, 'Why did the heathen rage and the people imagine vain things?' The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ. For of a truth against Thy holy child Jesus, whom Thou hast anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles and the people of Israel were gathered together, for to do whatsoever Thy hand and Thy counsel determined before to be done. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings; and grant unto Thy servants that with all boldness they may speak Thy word."
Dr. Abel Damina: They didn't say, "And now, Oh Lord, paralyze them. Oh Lord, let them be blind, let them be lame." No. "Oh Father, kill them so that they know that you cannot touch the anointed." No. "Lord, behold their threatenings." Look at how they have threatened us for preaching the truth of the gospel. "Grant unto Thy servant that with all boldness..." because the whole aim of the threat is to produce fear. "That with all boldness we may preach Your word."
That was the prayer. They didn't pray for persecution to stop. They prayed for boldness to preach the word in the face of persecution, because persecution goes with the gospel. They didn't use police to arrest them. They didn't report them to police using their connections in power and using police to arrest and humiliate them. No, they prayed because their mission was backed by God. There's no police that can protect the work of God. The work of God that police can protect, it tells you the kind of God. Maybe the belly god or the pocket god or the materialistic god.
But if it is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, there's no police that can protect the work of God. Persecution will always come, but men that are called by God to preach the truth of the gospel will not use underhand means, and they will not use police. They pray to God. Let God defend His word. And when they had prayed, the place was shaking. The place was shaking. They were filled with the Holy Ghost and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Now, so in the physical you see governmental authorities, but behind these men are spirits that oppose the gospel. Now Peter and John were threatened not to preach in the name of Jesus again by the rulers of the people, the high priest, the elders, the scribes. It was the devil in operation through the rulers of the day. So that's why Paul will say we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Moreover, the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 1. Put it up, PJ.
Guest (Female): We then as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. For He saith, "I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee." Behold, now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation.
Dr. Abel Damina: No, that's not what I'm looking for. 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 1.
Guest (Female): Dare any of you having a matter against another go to law before the unjust and not before the saints?
Dr. Abel Damina: Can you see that? You, somebody, you are taking people to police and you're supposed to be a pastor. He says, "Dare any of you having a matter against another go to law before the unjust and not before the saints." It's a shame for a man of God just because somebody criticized the gospel you preach. Christianity is not that fragile. The gospel is not that fragile. It is even better it is subjected to criticism because the genuineness of the gospel is that when it is criticized, it stands the test of time. Any gospel you're preaching that cannot be criticized is fake. Is fake. Is fake. The gospel should be criticized. It is criticism that allows for men to see the genuineness of the message.
Gamaliel advised rulers of his day who wanted to stop the gospel. He said, "This thing you are starting, it won't last. Do leave these men. If what they're doing is of God, it will stand the test of time. If it is fake, the same way other ones petered out, it will peter out." Dare any of you having a matter, you go before unbelievers, you use underhand measures, you pay some people money to pay some people to play with some people to mobilize police to arrest some people and teach them a lesson? Where did you learn that from? You got that from Satan or from who? Jesus never arrested anybody. Neither did the apostles arrest anybody. Where are you learning it from? Look at it, put it up. Read for me again, PJ.
Guest (Female): Dare any of you having a matter against another go to law before the unjust and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?
Dr. Abel Damina: How much more things that pertain to this life? How much more things that pertain to this life? If there's anybody that should be arresting people left, right, and center, it is Abel Damina. I'm the one that should be arresting people with police because I'm the most insulted, most abused. Not even in private, but in public with videos as evidence. With videos as evidence. They call my name, they insult me. They call me short man. They call me madman. They call me rat. They call me what? All kinds and all sorts.
My response is always simple. Yes, I'm a madman because the Bible says a spiritual man is mad. You say I'm short, I stand beside you, I'm taller than you. It depends on what indices you use in measuring height. Tall and short is relative. Are we teaching here? They say I'm crazy. Well, yes, you must be crazy to teach the kind of things I teach. Normal people can't see it. Some little boys will stay somewhere, "Damina, you're stupid, idiot." I would have arrested many of them, but the weapons are not carnal.
The weapons are not carnal. And because I am enduring it because I know that all those things they're doing is because they're under an influence. I'm praying eventually many of them are coming round and they're apologizing. Now they are addicts of what I preach. That's the beauty of the gospel. That's the beauty of the gospel. Not to be using police up and down, molesting and arresting and harassing people. No, no, no.
We preach the gospel. And don't forget it's the gospel we're preaching. We're not attacking persons. We're not insulting persons. But let me tell you the truth: if you preach nonsense and you put it out on social media, I will take that nonsense and criticize it. I will do it. I will. If you bring it to the court of public opinion, we will give you our opinion. Because social media is the court of public opinion. Once you bring your matter to us there, we will answer you. So if you don't want us to talk about it, hide and do it where we will not see it.
I'm teaching good. Because we're in a war to defend the truth of the gospel. We're in a war to do what? To defend the truth of the gospel. Bible says contend earnestly for the faith that was once delivered unto us. Is this not the first time people have criticized Christianity? It's gone through criticism over the years, and it has survived because it is genuine. If what you're preaching cannot be subjected to scrutiny, then you are not preaching the truth. Even in the book of Acts, they criticized Brother Paul's teachings. They took it, they investigated, *akribós*. They investigated, they checked it. And when they have checked it and discovered it was correct, then they believed.
I'm teaching good here. So these guys didn't pray for God to kill somebody. They just say, "Oh God, grant us boldness to preach in the midst of criticism, in the midst of insults, in the midst of abuses. Grant us boldness to preach because the truth of the gospel will not bend and it will not bow." Guys, we will sing that song at the end of this service. It won't bend, it won't bow. The gospel never bends. Acts chapter 12, verse 1 to 8, PJ. Acts chapter 12, verse 1 to 8.
Guest (Female): Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
Dr. Abel Damina: So the king who stretched forth his hand? The king, Herod the king, to vex certain of the church. Because persecution is part of the gospel. Give me verse 2.
Guest (Female): And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. Then were the days of unleavened bread. And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him, intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison, but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers bound with two chains, and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison; and he smote Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise up quickly." And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, "Gird thyself and bind on thy sandals." And so he did. And he saith unto him, "Cast thy garment about thee and follow me."
Dr. Abel Damina: The ruler inspired Satan in this instance. Sorry, inspired by Satan. The ruler was inspired, and the ruler in this instance was Herod. So from the two scriptures we read, both Herod and Acts chapter 4, the threatening and persecution by those in position of authority who were unbelievers were inspired by the devil. And the whole intent is to inhibit and incapacitate believers not to preach the gospel. To scare believers from preaching.
Colossians chapter 1, verse 13 tells us we've been delivered from the power of darkness, translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. The word "delivered" was translated from the Greek word *ruomai*, R-H-U-O-M-A-I, which implies to rescue from. R-H-U-O-M-A-I, to rescue from, to deliver a person for yourself. So Paul is stating that we are rescued from the power of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. We are translated, the word *eis* in the Greek to be translated, which implies a place, a result, a destination of a mission accomplished. The word "translated", *eis* in the Greek, it means a place, a result, a destination of a mission accomplished. We are delivered from the power of darkness and translated, or we are now brought into the destination of a mission accomplished.
How did Jesus deliver us from the power of darkness? How did Jesus translate us into the kingdom of His dear Son? How did He do it? Colossians chapter 2, verse 14 and 15, pay attention. Colossians 2:14 and 15.
Guest (Female): Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross. And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Dr. Abel Damina: How did He spoil principalities and powers? There are three words we're going to look at very quickly. Number one, the word "spoil." Number two, "make a show." Number three, "triumph over them in it." Three words: number one, spoil; number two, make a show; number three, triumph over them in it.
The word "spoil" was translated from the Greek word *apekduomai*. A-P-E-K-D-U-O-M-A-I, *apekduomai*, which implies to lay aside or to remove from, to plunder. Jesus removed from principalities and powers. That's the word "spoil", to remove from. It implies to plunder. So Jesus removed from principalities and powers. So what did the death of Jesus take from principalities and powers? What did the death of Jesus remove from principalities and powers? Those that were in its captivity. The death of Jesus took from principalities and powers those that were in its captivity.
Ephesians chapter 2, verse 2 tells us who those people are, wherein in time past, you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Then 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 4, in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Then the writer of Hebrews echoed the same thing, the people that were delivered from the captivity. Hebrews chapter 2, verse 14 and 15, PJ read for me. Hebrews chapter 2, verse 14 and 15.
Guest (Female): Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same, that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Dr. Abel Damina: He partook of the same that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil, having spoiled principalities and powers. He blotted out the ordinances of handwriting that was against us. So Jesus took men from principalities and powers.
Moreover, the word "them", "them" in Colossians 2:15. Read again for me, let's see how that word "them" was used there.
Guest (Female): And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Dr. Abel Damina: Over them in it. Triumphing over them. Watch, watch. Having spoiled, the word "spoil" means He took away from principalities and powers. What He took away, He made a show of them openly. Triumphing over them in it. Please, you need to understand this. Having spoiled, which is the Greek word for take away. So having taken away from principalities and powers, what He took away from them, He made a show of them openly. Triumphing over them in it.
That word "them", the word "them", I want us to look at that word "them." It's often used for "they" and "us." The word "them" is often used for "they" and "us." We will need to investigate what He made a show of, because Jesus used the same word. Many people believe that Jesus made a show of principalities and powers because of the way the sentence is constructed, but in its proper meaning, that's not what it means. That's why the word "them" is critical. Look at Matthew the 12th chapter, the 29th verse, PJ. Matthew 12:29.
Guest (Female): Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.
Dr. Abel Damina: He will spoil his house. That word "spoil" used by Jesus was translated from the Greek word *diarpazo*. *Diarpazo*, D-I-A-R-P-A-Z-O, *diarpazo*, which implies to forcefully take away from another. To forcefully take away from another. Hence, the goods of the strong man were men. The goods of the strong man were men that were taken away from him forcefully. The goods of the strong man were men that were taken away from him forcefully.
So what Jesus did was to take away the captives of Satan from Satan. To take away the captives of Satan from Satan. Made a show of them openly. The term "make a show" was used two times in the Greek. Let's see how it is applied. Matthew 1:19, PJ. Matthew chapter 1, verse 19.
Guest (Female): Then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
Dr. Abel Damina: Not willing to make her a public example. Then look at that Colossians 2:14 again. Colossians chapter 2, verse 14.
Guest (Female): Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.
Dr. Abel Damina: So the question will be: public example of who? He made a public example of who or what? Well, again, remember the parable of Jesus in Matthew 12 where we read. After which He spoiled the strong man and his house, the result of the victory of spoiling the strong man and his house were those He brought out of captivity. Those are who He made a show of openly. Those He brought out of captivity are those whom He made a show of openly.
So in this regard, the subject of the show is the believer, not the devil. The believer is the one that was made a show with or show of. Triumphing over them in it. Now let's look at that word "triumphing over them." The word "triumphing" was translated from the Greek word *thriambeuo*. T-H-R-I-A-M-B-E-U-O, *thriambeuo*. The word "triumphing", which implies to make an acclamatory procession, to sing a song of victory, or a triumphant process. A triumphant process.
So the triumphing over, triumphing over is to take a procession with the spoil of victory. And that triumphant procession is the saints. That is, Jesus made a display of the delivered ones. He didn't display demons; He displayed us. We're the spoil of victory. So in this case, we see Satan is displaced because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. And believers now in triumphant reign. So He made a public show of believers who triumphed over them. So the show was a show of us, not a show of the devil. Because we're the spoil.
When you go to war and you defeat the enemy and you carry the spoil, what you display in the triumphant process, that victory celebration, what do you display? The devil or the people you delivered? The people you delivered. So when Jesus engaged principalities and powers and disarmed them, we are the spoil. So we, the spoil, is we that He made a show of in His victory procession, announcing that we are the trophies of His victory. We are the proof that Jesus has risen from the dead.
If I'm teaching, say I hear you. So you've been delivered from darkness to light. You are the proof of the resurrection of Jesus. If that's clear, can I have a powerful amen? So you're the one in victory. Look at 2 Corinthians chapter 2, verse 14, PJ. 2 Corinthians 2:14.
Guest (Female): Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ and maketh manifest the savor of His knowledge by us in every place.
Dr. Abel Damina: He always causeth us to triumph. We're the ones triumphing. Now so Christ Jesus, the evidence of His resurrection is me and you. If Jesus rose and none of us is free from Satan, He failed in His mission. Look at Matthew 27:52, PJ. Matthew 27:52.
Guest (Female): And the graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which slept arose.
Dr. Abel Damina: Both in the spiritual and natural, the result of the resurrection was men. The graves were open and men who died in faith rose. The bodies of the saints that had died rose with Jesus. That victory procession in Christ is over the enemy. Each time a man receives the gospel, that triumphant procession is still on.
So that's why Paul now says, "Thanks be unto God who always causeth us," ongoing work, "causeth us to triumph in Christ." Therefore, as Christ has triumphed over principalities and powers, so has the believer. However, there is still a warfare in warding off distraction, warding off persecution, and warding off the deceit of the devil.
There's still warfare, and that warfare is not engaging in a fight, it's to ward off all the fiery darts of the devil, to ward off all the schemes, all the lies, all the deceptions that the devil will throw at us to distract us and to rob us of our standing in Christ Jesus. To rob you of it. That's why when the devil comes with a barrage of your past, barrage his head with his future. Barrage, scatter his brain with his future. Tell him bottomless pit, bottomless pit is waiting for you. Tell him I will judge you and throw you in there, you bastard. Scatter his head. Say to him, "Who are you to lay charge against God's elect? It is Christ that died and, yea, is risen again."
Every time, there is therefore now no condemnation. I am in Christ. And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is of the law, but the righteousness which is of Christ. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Remind yourself who you are and maintain your stand. Having done all to stand, stand. Don't do all to stand and sit down or fall. No, stand. Maintain your... somebody shout "I'm maintaining my ground in Christ Jesus."
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, that is, in the power of His might. Strengthened with might by the Spirit in the inner man. You put on the whole armor. That is, walk in your mind, in the consciousness that you're saved, that you're righteous, that the truth of the gospel is in your mouth, that you have the shoes of peace. The Lord bruise Satan shortly under your feet. You have the shoes, you have the shield of faith, you have the sword of the Spirit. Walk in the consciousness of that. Stand. The weapons are not carnal. I will enter that one next Sunday. Mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
Glory to God. I say glory to God. Say I am the proof that Jesus is alive. Tell your neighbor, "Don't go to Israel and look for the empty tomb. He's no longer there. He is here." He's no longer in the grave. He lives in me now. If you want to know whether Jesus is alive or not, you want to come for pilgrimage, come to me. He's no more in Israel in the grave; He's on my inside.
Glory to God. I will live in you, I will walk in you. I will be your God; you will be My sons and My daughters. Praise God. I say praise God. Say with me, "I am in victory."
So this morning, we began to look at demonic possession and demonic oppression. Mark chapter 5, verse 1, PJ. Mark chapter 5, verse number 1 to 5.
Guest (Female): And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when He was come out of the ship, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains.
Dr. Abel Damina: So very irrational behavior. The man is possessed. How do we know he's possessed? Number one, he is dwelling in graveyard. No normal human being, even unbelievers don't stay in the grave. So something is not together here. The man has his... put the scripture back. Are you paying rent? Put it back. Who had his dwelling among the tombs, and no man could bind him, no, not with chains. Unusual strength. Next verse. Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him and the fetters broken in pieces; neither could any man tame him.
This is not a normal human being. So before you say somebody is possessed, he must demonstrate this level of madness. It's not everybody is, "You're possessed, you're possessed." No, people are not possessed like that. There are things you look for to know that a man is possessed. A man can be an unbeliever but he is not possessed by demons. No, but he's under demonic oppression in the fact that they have blinded his mind from the gospel.
So that's why when we preach with the power of prayer, our message pulls down the veil and frees the man to salvation. It's preaching. Okay, so they could not bind him with fetters. Next verse. And always, night and day... so demonic possession is inside out. Oppression is outside when a believer yield his will to unclean spirits by way of habit and behavior. But possession is unclean spirits taking over the totality of that man. Possession is total. It's a total hold of that fellow where the man is no more in control.
Oppression deals with habit or the conduct of a person. Oppression deals with habit or the conduct of a person. While in oppression, oppressed, the person will be yielding his will as a demonic influence will come and go. But in possession, it's a total take-over. See the man night and day, cutting himself with stones, crying, wounding himself on the mountains, in the graveyards.
Then look at Mark chapter 1, verse 21 to 26, PJ. Mark chapter 1, verse 21 to 26.
Guest (Female): And they went into Capernaum and straightway on the Sabbath day He entered into the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at His doctrine, for He taught them as one that had authority and not as the scribes. And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out.
Dr. Abel Damina: A man with an unclean spirit means he's possessed. When you see a man with an unclean spirit, means that man is possessed. He cried out, put it up. He cried out, put the scripture back. He cried out, next verse.
Guest (Female): Saying, "Let us alone; what have we to do with Thee, Thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art Thou come to destroy us? I know Thee who Thou art, the Holy One of God." And Jesus rebuked him saying, "Hold thy peace and come out of him." And when the unclean spirit had torn him and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
Dr. Abel Damina: That is, he convulsed. He tore him, means he convulsed. That means as Jesus spoke those words, the man fell down on the floor, because that demon was in total control of this person. Those words he spoke were not his words. "Are You come to destroy us before our time?" Those were not his words; it was the demon spirit using his vocal cords to speak to Jesus.
Same way when you prophesy, it's not your words. The prophecy are words inspired of the Holy Ghost out of your mouth. So the same way when the evil spirit takes total possession of a man, it controls his vocal cords and controls his actions. So those two words that he used were not his.
Now, Matthew 4:23, please pay attention. Matthew chapter 4, verse 23.
Guest (Female): And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought unto Him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and He healed them.
Dr. Abel Damina: Many people can be possessed in an area. You can see many of them were possessed here. So in an area you can have a lot of people possessed. So you can see them that they were tormented. They were doing things that were unnatural. Torment on their soul. So possessed people do abnormal things. You see abnormal behavior, very irrational behavior, things that cannot be well explained. You know that something is wrong. There's a demon in operation in that person or in that woman or something.
Then look at Acts chapter 16, verse 16 because I'm pointing out a few things in this service. Acts 16:16 to 18, PJ.
Guest (Female): And it came to pass as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying.
Dr. Abel Damina: By soothsaying. Next verse.
Guest (Female): The same followed Paul and us and cried saying, "These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation." And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, "I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he came out the same hour.
Dr. Abel Damina: So soothsaying is a supernatural ability to speak and predict events for people. Supernatural ability. Soothsaying is done by evil spirits. Now notice, she brought great gain to her masters, so it was a commercial demon. It was a demon of commerce. To her masters, not to herself. So you see that the ability to speak was not hers, because when Paul rebuked the spirit, the woman could no more speak. So she was speaking under the influence and the whole essence was to bring gain, to make profit for her masters. So she's possessed with a spirit of divination. Okay. Acts 19:13. Acts chapter 19, verse 13.
Guest (Female): Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth." And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, "Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are ye?" And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them and overcame them and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Dr. Abel Damina: PJ, what's up? Is the spirit producing laughter? They went to look for demon problem without a stand. And unfortunately, they were confronting intelligent demons. Look at the articulation: "Paul we know, Jesus we know. Identify yourselves before we change our minds." And they couldn't identify themselves, so the demons freed the man they were inside and pounced on him and tortured them, tore their clothes, and ran them out of town naked. What an embarrassment.
These demons couldn't naturally have been able through this person to deal with seven people. But when there's a demon spirit, you see unusual strength. Very unusual. Where you break chains, that's not normal. Like Samson. When the Spirit of God comes on Samson, he would carry gates. An entire gate and the concrete that was holding the gate. Samson will use one hand and carry it without struggle, *pum*, as if it's nothing. Because of unusual strength. That's the Spirit *upon*. "You shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon."
The Spirit *upon* operated all through the Old Testament. It came on people, it came even on some unbelievers. I mean, all of them were unbelievers to start with by today's standard; none of them was born again. The Spirit *upon* even came on animals. See? So the Spirit *upon* can come on anybody to carry out God's assignment. But there was something missing in the Old Testament: is the Spirit *within*. None of them had the indwelling of the Spirit because the indwelling of the Spirit was post-resurrection, was a New Testament reality.
So the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament is the indwelling of the Spirit. The Spirit *within* is for my own life as a believer. The Spirit *upon* is for me to do ministry. The Spirit *within* is the spirit of victory, the spirit that builds me up, the spirit that leads me, the spirit that gives me direction, the spirit that shows me what to do is within. But the Spirit *upon* is God's enablement for me to do ministry, to cast out demons, to heal the sick, to raise the dead. And you can do that without the Spirit *within*.
That's why Jesus said some will say, "In Your name I cast out demons, in Your name I heal the sick," and I will tell them I knew you not. The proof of knowing Jesus is the Spirit *within*. That's why the moment you receive the gospel, there is the indwelling of the Spirit, and that is the birth. That which is born of Spirit is spirit. That is the difference between a child of God and a native doctor. A native doctor will do miracles and wonders, but does he have the indwelling of the Spirit?
The indwelling of the Spirit is my relationship with God, my Christian life, my life on earth, my walk with Christ, and the victory that my life experiences in the gospel. But the Spirit *upon* is service, and it can... God can use anybody to carry out an assignment on His behalf. So the Spirit used to come on them, and when they have done with what God wants them to do, the Spirit will leave and they're back to who they were, just like Samson.
So, believers cannot be possessed because they have the Spirit within. A child of God cannot be possessed with demons, no matter what, no matter how. You cannot be possessed with demons. Romans chapter 8, verse 9, PJ. Romans chapter 8, verse 9, 10, and 11.
Guest (Female): But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
Dr. Abel Damina: So because the Spirit is indwelling and the Spirit occupies the spirit of the believer, the believer cannot be possessed. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says the believer is the temple of the Holy Spirit, is the house of the Holy Spirit. And all of us collectively put together, we are the temple of God. So take... take down this. Possession is always oppression. Possession is always oppression. But oppression is not possession. Possession is always oppression, but oppression is not possession.
So when you talk about demonic possession, you will see supernatural things being done. Somebody said to me, "If somebody is possessed, can he vomit something?" Why not? It's very possible. He will vomit something that cannot be medically explained because this is a spiritual operation. He could vomit something. He could bark. He could lie down and *raaaaa*. Irrational behavior. He could vomit something. He could bring out things, very funny things.
Like the person, the demon that spoke to Jesus with a loud voice. "We know who you are." So the spirit used his vocal cords. If they could use a man's vocal cords, they can use water, they can come out in... they can make things come out in any form. Spectacular things can happen when demons are in operation. Spectacular. Are you understanding? So that you don't get flabbergasted. Somebody told me that some people came to his house and prayed and brought a clay pot from under his bed. Those are spectacular. Even demons can do... demons like doing such things. Spectacular things. They'll just bring something that was not there. Okay. Exorcist, they use jars.
Are we teaching here? Because we're dealing with powers. We're dealing with energy, spiritual energy. So things can be made visible. Sickness also will come oftentimes as oppression. Sickness. You know when Jesus sent out His disciples to cast out demons, I like us to look at the sequence. Luke chapter 9, verse 1 and 2. When Jesus told them to go out and cast out demons. Luke chapter 9, verse 1 and 2, PJ.
Guest (Female): Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases. And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And He said unto them, "Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money, neither have two coats apiece."
Dr. Abel Damina: So He sent them to preach the word of the kingdom and to heal the sick. Luke chapter 10, verse 1, PJ. Luke chapter 10, verse 1.
Guest (Female): After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come. Therefore said He unto them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He would send forth laborers into His harvest. Go your ways; behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes, and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house.'"
Dr. Abel Damina: Give me Matthew chapter 10, verse 1. Matthew chapter 10, verse 1.
Guest (Female): And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
Dr. Abel Damina: Observe: to cast out unclean spirits and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Okay. Against unclean spirits first, to cast them out and heal. So casting out demons seems to always precede healing the sick. Casting out demons seems to always precede healing the sick in the believer's authority. That means if you cannot cast out a demon that causes a sickness, you cannot heal the sickness. And that is where we will find unnatural illnesses. I mean, there are natural causes of illness: a deficiency in certain things in the body, lifestyle. Okay.
And we find laying of hands on such people just heals them. Medical science is a natural curative way of healing sicknesses, and medical science is of God. That's why when you're sick, you can go to the doctor and get medication. You don't have to hide and take your medicine. It's not a sin. And it doesn't mean you're weak. It just means that you've discovered something that God has made available for your body and you're taking advantage of it.
But it is limited. Medical science is limited because it deals with an influenced body of knowledge that sometimes is not scriptural. So if you base your health on natural remedies, when there is demonic affliction, you will be stranded. Because demons cannot be injected. Evil spirits, you can't use surgery to remove them. So if somebody is having an affliction and an evil spirit is behind it, you will see they'll be doing surgery upon surgery over the person and not able to cure the problem. It's no more surgery that is the problem; there's a spirit sitting there that will only respond to the believer's authority. Medication, injection will not work in that condition because that's no more normal, that's abnormal.
So that's why you can't base your healing just on medication. You have to exercise authority over conditions whenever your body is sick or whenever somebody's body is sick around you. You take authority, you rebuke it. You rebuke it. Open fire. Even if you will take medicine, first of all, *miano shiagaba yabo shigalade skat*. The way you finish say, "Give him the medicine." Jesus prayed for Peter's mother-in-law first, then He said give her food to eat. Give her food to eat. Paul prayed for Timothy, then He said take a little alcohol for your often infirmities, for your stomach problem. Take a little alcohol. Not you, Timothy in the Bible. Before you go this afternoon and say, "Let me cool down. Let me wash the things I read." No, don't be washing word of God with alcohol.
Are we teaching here? I said are we teaching here? Acts chapter 8, verse 16. Acts chapter 8, verse 16.
Guest (Female): For as yet He was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Dr. Abel Damina: Sorry, Matthew 8:16. Why am I calling Acts like this? Matthew 8:16.
Guest (Female): When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils, and He cast out the spirits with His word and healed all that were sick.
Dr. Abel Damina: He first of all cast out the spirit with His word before healing the sickness. Have you seen another one? Okay. Matthew 10:8 and 9. Matthew chapter 10, verse 8 and 9.
Guest (Female): Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give.
Dr. Abel Damina: Freely you have received, freely give. So it seemed to come first. Casting out demons seems to come first. Look at Acts chapter 8, verse 5 and 6. Acts chapter 8, verse 5 and 6.
Guest (Female): Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them, and many taken with palsies and that were lame were healed.
Dr. Abel Damina: You see, many that were lame and that were paralyzed were healed after unclean spirits were cast out. So it seems you have to cast out demons first before healing explosion. In Acts chapter 5, verse 16, we see another instance here where they brought the sick to Peter's shadow. Go ahead, PJ.
Guest (Female): There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks and them which were vexed with unclean spirits, and they were healed every one.
Dr. Abel Damina: And they were healed every one. So when you find prominent sicknesses, you will find demonic oppression. Anywhere there is prominent sickness, there will be demonic oppression in that environment. In Acts 10:38, Acts of the Apostles chapter 10, verse 38. Read for me, PJ.
Guest (Female): How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.
Dr. Abel Damina: All that were oppressed of the devil. So he classifies sickness as an oppression of the devil. An oppression, to oppress from outside. He classifies sickness... so apart from natural causes, there are also demonic causes of sickness. Demonic causes. As an oppression, not as a possession. As an oppression. Now let's go to instances. Matthew 12:22. Matthew 12:22, PJ.
Guest (Female): Then was brought unto Him one possessed with a devil, blind and dumb, and He healed him insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Dr. Abel Damina: Virtually every time a dumb is healed, a demon is cast out. Every time you have a dumb person, there's a demon in that case. You cast out the demon first, and once the demon leaves, the... the mouth starts talking. Everywhere there's a dumb condition. Or when you see a combination of blind and dumb, that combination is a demonic possession. He closed the man's eye and stopped his speech. That's destruction. You can't see, you can't talk, then why are you alive? At least if you can't talk, you're seeing, you can use your fingers. Or if you cannot see but you're talking, you can say how you feel. But you can't talk and you can't see. What next? There's a demon, a demonic possession.
So what do you do such persons? You preach the gospel, share with him the goodness of God, the will of God, the plan of God for his life, lead him through a confession, let him make the devil know he does not want to accommodate him any longer. Once he expresses his will not to accommodate, tell the devil, "*Oya*, exercise authority, pack your load and get out." Am I teaching here?
Or like deaf and dumb, there's a demon involved. Look at it again. Acts 12:22 to 24, PJ. Acts 12:22 to 24. And the people gave a shout saying, "It is the voice..." You said Acts, Matthew. Matthew 12.
Guest (Female): Then was brought unto Him one possessed with a devil, blind and dumb, and He healed him insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed and said, "Is not this the son of David?" But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This fellow doth not cast out devils but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils."
Dr. Abel Damina: They badmouth it. Because every time you... you bring out a genuine healing ministry, Satan will come with an attack because Satan doesn't want people to benefit. So that combination is a demonic possession. When you have a combo of deaf and dumb, that's too unnatural. Or dumb and blind. It's demons involved. Look at Mark chapter 3, verse 10. Because as ministers of the gospel, you must know all of this so that when you go to minister to people, you... you just know what's up. Mark 3:10 to 11.
Guest (Female): For He had healed many, insomuch that they pressed upon Him for to touch Him as many as had plagues. And unclean spirits, when they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried saying, "Thou art the Son of God."
Dr. Abel Damina: Whenever you have a crowd of sick people, unclean spirits, there will be enough demonic affliction. Anywhere you find a crowd of sick people, there will be enough demonic affliction in that environment. Now when you have lunatics, people that have epilepsy and convulsions. Look at Matthew 15:22. Matthew chapter 15, verse 22.
Guest (Female): And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast and cried unto Him saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil." But He answered her not a word and His disciples came and besought Him saying, "Send her away, for she crieth after us." But He answered and said, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Then came she and worshipped Him saying, "Lord, help me." But He answered and said, "It is not meet to take the children's bread and to cast it to dogs." And she said, "Truth, Lord; yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered and said unto her, "O woman, great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou wilt." And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Dr. Abel Damina: So the daughter was healed. Lunatic, vexed with a devil. That is oppression. Vexed with a devil. And sometimes it could be possession; sometimes it could be oppression. That is where you find epilepsy. People that have, you know, seizures. Most of them, they're demons behind it. Demonic oppression. Look at Matthew 17:15. Matthew chapter 17, verse 15.
Guest (Female): "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic and sore vexed; for oft times he falleth into the fire and oft into the water." And I brought him to Thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to Me." And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he departed out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
Dr. Abel Damina: Jesus rebuked the devil, and he departed out of him, and the child was cured that very hour. So the demon leaves first, then healing takes place. So epileptic cases are demonic in nature. Just Satan harassing people and just tampering with their brains and messing their entire system.
In Mark chapter 7, verse 24 to 30. Mark chapter 7, verse 24 to 30.
Guest (Female): And from thence He arose and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon and entered into an house and would have no man know it, but He could not be hid. For a certain woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard of Him and came and fell at His feet. The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by nation, and she besought Him that He would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, "Let the children first be filled; for it is not meet to take the children's bread and to cast it unto the dogs." And she answered and said unto him, "Yes, Lord; yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs." And He said unto her, "For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter." And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out and her daughter laid upon the bed.
Dr. Abel Damina: That means no normal thing. This qualifies with possession. The daughter was in a permanent state of epilepsy, and Jesus just spoke the word and from wherever the daughter was, the demons left. The authority of the believer is not limited to an environment. You can exercise authority over people on phone. "Take that phone, give him, give him. Close your eyes. Say with me, 'Satan, I reject you accommodation in my life. I sack you now.' Now keep quiet. You unclean spirit, I command you by the power of the Holy Ghost, out!" From afar on phone, you will hear demons crying out.
There's no distance, there's no distance in the spirit. Distance is just matter. The spirit is beyond matter. Am I teaching here? That's why Jesus could speak the word and it happens from afar. He could speak the word and it happens from afar. A family were looking for their daughter who got lost in, you know, outside the country. And they came to me, and the mother said the daughter is lost. "She's been in America for many years now; we don't know where she is. She is missing." I say no, she can't be missing; we can locate her in the spirit.
So we went to their house and we prayed. I said, "Father, wherever the daughter is right now, we arrange circumstances, circumstances and situation to situate the daughter where people that will have the information across to the parents can be." And while I was praying, the Holy Ghost just spoke to me and I gave the mother a word of knowledge. I told the mother by this time tomorrow your daughter will call home. By this time... the mother said, "You don't want..." She, "You know how many years? No news; she has not called nothing." I said by this time tomorrow she will call home. And when she calls, she will tell you she is frustrated, she wants to come back. We had prayed, I saw it in the spirit.
So we left their house and go back home. The next day in the afternoon, just like I spoke, the daughter called crying. Said, "Mommy, I just woke up from alcoholic intoxication. I want to come home; I'm tired and frustrated." The daughter just called out of the blues. Two days after, the daughter was back home. They brought her straight to me. Straight from the airport. Straight! So we completed what we started. Clean up the whole thing, got the daughter filled with the Holy Ghost, and then started discipleship class. There's no distance in the spirit. Say I hear you. I'm not hearing, say I hear you. Say, "I exercise authority." Say, "There is no distance in the spirit." Say, "Eternity is at work in me. Therefore, matter don't matter."
Glory to God. I say glory to God. So we have also seen that demons can come back after they are cast out. So even when you cast out the deaf, the dumb, epilepsy and all that, if you don't get the person born again and start teaching the person how to maintain that healing and miracle, the condition will come back with other diseases. That's what Jesus taught us in Matthew 12:43 to 45, PJ. Matthew 12:43 to 45.
Guest (Female): When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest and findeth none. Then he saith, "I will return into my house from whence I came out"; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Dr. Abel Damina: So there's no point casting the demon out if you're not committed to do the work of maintenance. That's why you find out that crusades will happen, conferences will happen, people will come, they get healed, they give testimony, few months after, the condition is back worse than before. They go, "*Ah-ah*, was it a lie?" No, it was not a lie. Miracles actually happened, but nobody could maintain it. The... the... maybe the pastor was too carried away with the testimony, made picture, put on the magazine, as far as he is concerned, he has gotten what he is looking for, and did not take the time to take the person through salvation, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, discipleship. So the person is empty.
And the spirits will always come back. Jesus said that. Unclean spirits will always come back. They'll say, "I'm going back to my house to check," and if they come, the place is clean, the man doesn't know anything, the man is still where he was before, the demons will now go and look for other spirits that are looking for accommodation and host all of them. And the state of the person, if it was just epilepsy now, it may be epilepsy with blindness, with deafness. So you made the person's case worse. It were even better to leave him alone if you don't plan to do proper follow-up, if you don't plan to do proper teaching. Am I communicating at all? Yeah.
You must know not just how to get somebody healed, but how to teach the person to maintain what has been obtained. People must know how to maintain what Christ has obtained for them. And that's why we're teaching what we're teaching, so you know how to identify these situations, how to rebuke demons, how to heal the sick, and how to help people live in victory. If you're getting blessed, can I have a powerful amen?
Praise God. In Mark chapter 16, verse 9, we see another condition. Mark 16:9.
Guest (Female): Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils.
Dr. Abel Damina: So Mary Magdalene had seven demons. Jesus cast them out, and now she was normal and became a disciple of His ministry. How do we know that? Luke chapter 8, verse 1. Luke chapter 8, verse 1.
Guest (Female): And it came to pass afterward that He went through every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God; and the twelve were with Him, and certain women which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils.
Dr. Abel Damina: So Mary now was a disciple of Jesus and supporting Jesus' ministry financially, because out of her Jesus cast out seven demons. Then Luke 7:21 speaks about unclean spirits. Luke 7:21.
Guest (Female): And in that same hour He cured many of their infirmities and plagues and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind He gave sight.
Dr. Abel Damina: Unto many that were blind He gave sight, cured many of infirmities. Go back, and unclean spirits, evil spirits. And many that were blind He gave them sight. So in the ministry of the gospel, we are empowered to cast out devils and to heal the sick. The believer is not a victim but a victor. The believer is in authority. But if the believer is ignorant of his authority and the believer yields to the works of the flesh, he can be oppressed of the devil. He can be oppressed.
That's why Ephesians chapter 4 says neither give place to the devil. So if you give place, the devil will use it well. James chapter 4, verse 7: resist the devil, and he will flee. To flee means to run with terror. He will run with terror. Resist the devil means take a stand on God's word. No, this condition cannot reoccur. No, I am healed and I maintain my stand. It is written!
Resist the devil. He will run with terror. But if you observe where he says resist the devil, he will flee, he says submit yourselves therefore to God. He deals with pride and humility. God resists the proud, giveth grace to the humble. He deals with pride and humility. Somebody say I will not be proud. Yeah. When you walk in humility, you're loyal to the word of God. 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 8. Look at what he says in 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 8.
Guest (Female): Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Dr. Abel Damina: Whom resist steadfast where? In the faith. Not strong will; in the faith. You resist the devil in God's word. In God's word, in the faith. The only weapon you have against the devil is the word of God. Not strong will, not strong head. The word of God. Even Jesus, when Satan tempted Jesus three times, Jesus didn't use strong will. He said, "It is written. It is written." The word of God is your weapon against the devil.
In Ephesians 6:10, he says, "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, take on the whole armor of God." The armor of God is the word of God. The word of God, that's the armor. The armor is the word of God. The armor of the believer is the word of God. Salvation is the word. Righteousness is the word. Truth is the word. Peace is the word. Shield of faith is the word. Sword of the Spirit is the word. So the armor of the believer is the word of God.
Apostles didn't say, "Call your pastor when the devil comes." He says resist him. Resist him. Thank God you don't have my phone number. And I don't plan to give you. So when the devil meets you, that's why I'm teaching you. Because you will not have my number to call, "Papa, Papa, Papa! Father in the Lord, Father in the Lord, Father in the Lord, it's about to happen again. Please, DHL a prayer, DHL a prayer." No, *na* only be there, Redstar. Redstar they prayer. The number you are calling, the number you are calling... in this church?
Say, "I resist the devil." In the word! Say it again. "Satan, I resist you. I stop you in your maneuvers." I didn't hear a powerful amen. Can I hear a louder amen? Whom resist steadfast in the faith. Last scripture before we go for a break and continue next service. 1 Peter 5:8. 1 Peter 5:8.
Guest (Female): Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour.
Dr. Abel Damina: He's walking about seeking whom he may devour. He's not walking about devouring people. He is seeking that ignorant, ignorable person that he will devour. But those of us that are not ignorant, we have God's word to put up a resistance. And when you resist the devil, he will escape in terror.
Stop that, Satan. No. No! Out, in terror! He didn't say if you resist the devil he will negotiate with you; he will flee. He will flee! You're not the victim; you're the victor. You're the conquering army. You're seated with Christ far above principalities. *Shikaba toka bah*. You have authority in Christ. You have the power of God's word. You have the Holy Ghost. You have, you have all the realities of the new creation. You are seated together with Christ. Christ is at work in you. The Spirit of God dwell in you. *Aye!*
Somebody shout, "I am the one in authority." Shout it again. Shout it louder. Stand on your feet in this service. The only weapon you have against the devil is resistance. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Say with me, "I go around casting out demons." Say it again, say it again. "I go around casting out demons, healing the sick, preaching the gospel, and setting men free."
Glory to God. And let me tell you, when you cast out demons, you don't have to feel anything. You don't have to feel anything. Just know who you are and know the mission, and you tell the demons out. It's not in every case they will scream. In some cases, they will go out quietly, and in some cases, they will scream. Whichever one, you are equipped to handle. Glory to God. I say glory to God.
Say, "I cast out devils and I heal the sick." Say it again, "I heal the sick in the name of Jesus, and I cast out devils in the name of Jesus." Say, "As a child of God, the devil has no room around my life. I resist the devil. I resist the devil." Again, "I resist the devil and he flees." Glory to God. I say glory to God.
Father, I pray for everybody under the sound of my voice in this service online, on television, on radio, wherever people are gathered listening to this word. Anyone that has suffered from an oppression of the devil, harassment of the devil, torment of the devil, anyone that has been intimidated by fear, the spirit of fear, the hold of the enemy, pain, discomfort, every disease that the enemy has afflicted anyone with under the sound of my voice. *Ziatoka pata librata kosupa rakata*. Satan, get your hands off in the name of Jesus!
The oppression is broken. The oppression is broken. The depression is broken. The harassment is broken. That torment cease right now. Cease right now. Cease right now! In the name of Jesus. *Bilos, bilos, zazom brankus kapalata, regoshiklandebotoba lebro sikaratus kapaladaya*.
Now I release you by the power of God's word to walk in the victory that is yours. The victory that is yours. You walk in the victory that is yours. Glory to God. Thank You, Father, for the blessing over this family of victors and the blessing over this family around the world. *Liadoshikapato nakatina kaska, legrosakarata kia*. Thank You, Father, principalities and powers are totally disarmed. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray, and every believer in victory says that amen on a note of finality.
Now go ahead, let's celebrate the victory that we have in Christ. I'm not hearing that celebration in this house. Glory! Are you blessed? Whoa!
Now this is for those who are asking, how can I get the book that Papa is teaching with? It's called "Winning the War." You can order for it, "Winning the War. Winning the War: Enforcing Your Victory in Christ." You can get a copy of it, you can order it online, you can order it in your campuses. It's "Winning the War," and it will help you a lot. There are many things in it that I may not have time to talk about in the teaching.
But I'm teaching as much as possible, and there are things I'm teaching that are not in this book by any chance. So you need the teaching and the book. *Ah-ah*, nobody be your pastor. You need the teaching and you need the book, because there are things in the book I'm teaching and there are things I'm not touching. I leave it for you to read when you buy, whereby when you buy, you read, when you read, you understand.
And then there are things I am teaching from my notes direct, so you see I have two books: I have textbook, I have notebook. See it. So there are things here that are not here, and there are things here that are not here. And there are things here that are not here and here, and there are things here that are not here, here, and here. So altogether, so you need both this and that. *Eh?* Heh-heh, it's not this or that; it is this and that and that and that. *Kabaya da*.
Amen. So get the book and get the teaching. They'll be a great, you know, source of equipping. You know, my commitment is to make you know everything I know and more, so that you can live the life and enjoy Christ, so that when I see Jesus, I will not be embarrassed that I cheated you of anything that was due you. Glory to God. I say glory to God.
As far as you remain in this church, Satan will be afraid of you, because everything you need to know, you will know it, and you will walk in the victory that is yours, and you will serve God's purpose. I'm not hearing that amen at all. Can I hear that amen like better, better? Glory to God.
So to order for the book, you can send a mail to powercityoffice@gmail.com or you speak to your campus coordinator. But don't just rely on the book; you need to follow all the teachings. More classes ahead, amen. Are you blessed? Grab your honor offerings; let's give as you get ready to go home. Praise God. Grab your honor offerings. All the online brethren, the account is on the screen. Television, the account is on the screen, and everybody else in the building. Glory to God.
Somebody was asking a question: why did Jesus cast demons and send them to go and destroy the pigs? Well, go and listen to first service and listen to last Sunday, first and second service. Don't come and take us backward. You try and catch up. We spoke about... did I teach it last week? So go and get the teaching of last Sunday. Don't, don't be jumping into our services anyhow. You go *undo*, you go *undo*. You go *und*. You no go *undo*? You go *undo*. Don't be jumping into our services anyhow. Stay with us if you want to stay with us, and follow through. It's important, because we're not teaching CRK; we're teaching serious stuff. You've got to follow well so that you can understand well and you can enjoy what we have. Amen.
So, bro, brother or sister that is asking for why demons went and destroyed pigs, go and look for last Sunday, first and second service. Then look for this morning's service. Listen to all of them. In fact, two Sundays ago, first and second Sunday, last Sunday, first and second service, today, first service, and then you will understand this second service. And in case you are going to join next Sunday, first and second service, the other Sunday, then last Sunday, then today, before you will understand next Sunday. Precept upon precept, line upon line, a little here, a little there, until the whole picture is complete. Amen.
All right, lift up your offerings, let's pray. Father, thank You for the privilege to give our offerings, our resources. We're glad that it could be used in advancing the message, the mandate of Christ to the ends of the earth. So as we give this morning, we rejoice. And we thank You for the privilege to make a difference with our resources. Thank You that our hearts are generous towards the gospel. We do not keep our resources from the gospel. Thank You, Father, that through our obedience, many will come to this light and the light of Christ will fill the earth. In Jesus' name we pray, every believer says that amen on a note of finality. Glory!
Well, guys, we're about to sign you off. You don't want to miss my teaching on Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. GMT +1. Campuses and house churches, we leave it in the able hands of your coordinators. They will tell you what to do as you give your honor offerings. But we love you guys, and we look forward to seeing you. All right, the baskets are before us. Hit the music! Let's do it as we worship Jesus, the risen Lord. Glory to God. Oh my goodness, the word of God is life!
The Bible tells us the entrance of God's word giveth light, and it giveth understanding to the simple. As you keep listening, the light of God's word rises out of the rightly divided word of truth, illuminates your mind, illuminates your heart, and brings you face-to-face with your realities in Christ Jesus.
In Ephesians chapter 3, verse 3, Brother Paul, speaking about the mystery, the Old Testament, he said, "Whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ." So there is a knowledge in the mystery of Christ. The word "mystery" is the word *mystérion* in the Greek. It means that which is concealed. And then he says how that by revelation... the word "revelation" is the word *apokalupsis*. It means that which is revealed.
So the revelation of the scriptures unveils the mysteries. Revelation is the New Testament; mystery is the Old Testament. But it will take reading and learning to come to a place of full understanding, precise and accurate knowledge. Brother Daniel will say, "I understood by books." So there's a place of books in equipping you soundly with the message of Christ. Brother Paul will write to Timothy, he says to Timothy, "Till I come, give attendance to reading."
Jesus, speaking to those Jews, says, "You do err because you know not the scriptures nor the power of God." Oftentimes Jesus would say to the Jews, "Have you not read?" is the word *anaginosko* in the Greek. It means, "Are you reading and not paying attention?"
I want to quickly recommend for you a plethora of books I have written. They are written with an intent to bring you doctrinal clarity, answer your questions doctrinally, and bring you to a place of accurate understanding, a precise knowledge of Christ and you in Christ. I want you to order for those books today. The number and the list of books available will be read to you right now. And if you call today, we'll be glad to make sure you get a copy or more copies of the books so you can enrich your spiritual life and enrich your walk with God and build a quality relationship with Jesus Christ, where you are also able to teach others the same truths you have learned to liberate them and bring them to the fullness of God. Glory to God.
