Dr. Abel Damina: Father, we give You praise that tonight we have access into the deep things of God by the Holy Ghost. We speak words which the Holy Ghost teaches, comparing spirituals with spirituals. We thank You that the eyes of each one's understanding are flooded with light tonight. Veils fall off. Clarity comes by Your word. Whatever is not planted by God is rooted out. Burdens and yokes are destroyed.

We rejoice that an army of men and women are arising all over the blue marble planet filled with Jesus and filled with the grace of God. Together, we color the world with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the water covers the sea. Thank You that nobody leaves this service the same way they came. We give You praise, glory, and honor for answered prayer. In Jesus' name we pray, and every believer says a powerful amen.

Lift your right hands to heaven. Let's release our faith together as we say these words. I am born of God. I am born of the word. The word of God is my nature. I do not struggle to do the word. I do the word naturally. Therefore, today, I will understand the word of His grace. I will be built up. By the end of this service, I will never be the same again. Never, ever be the same again. In Jesus' name, and every believer says a powerful amen.

Are we excited to study the word tonight and enjoy ourselves? Can we celebrate our study with a shout and a celebration tonight? Well, grab your pen, your notebook, your Bible. You can be seated as we get into the word of His grace. It is still 30 Days of Glory 2025 and Soteria Season 12: Examining the Character of God in Salvation. Hebrews chapter 2, from verse 1 to 4.

Guest (Female): Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him? God also bearing them witness both with signs and wonders and with divers miracles and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His own will.

Dr. Abel Damina: God also bearing them witness with signs and wonders. So, he began to say, lest at any time we should let them slip. But actually, the original construction is "lest at any time we should slip away." It is not the word that will slip; it is the hearer that slips away from the message. Lest at any time we should drift away or slip away from the message.

Now, you must understand that salvation is not just a theme of a conference, but salvation is the core doctrine of the Bible. How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? That is not one of the conference themes; it is actually the core doctrine of the Bible. The term "so great salvation" reflects both its significance and its depth. How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? That is emphasis on the significance and the depth of this salvation.

Which means, therefore, that in Acts chapter 11, when you begin to read about the issue of the church, the Acts of the Apostles' church, where they were arguing, the key issue on that argument in Acts chapter 11 and Acts chapter 15 was an issue about salvation. The early church had serious questions about salvation. It was a core issue. It was a major issue in the book of Acts. Even today, most people who have problems, their major problems with the Bible are centered around salvation because salvation is the core doctrine of the Bible.

Now, we have been examining the sovereignty of God because we are looking at the character of God. The sovereignty of God. The word "sovereign" is from the English dictionary, both the Oxford and the Collins. The word "sovereign" takes its root from the word that means "independent of control." Independent of control. Then the term does not come in any text of the Bible. You won't see it anywhere in the Bible, that word "sovereign" or "sovereignty." But we find the term "God" in the scriptures, which means one who is to be worshipped. God, *Theos*. *Theos*, one who is to be worshipped. So, God's sovereignty is primarily revealed in salvation. The sovereignty of God is primarily revealed in salvation. Exodus chapter 3, verse 14.

Guest (Female): And God said unto Moses, "I AM that I AM." And He said, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."

Dr. Abel Damina: I AM that I AM. I AM that I AM. It refers to God being self-existent, self-initiative. He is not tyrannical, but He is the self-existent one. I AM that I AM. In the Greek, it is the word *Egō eimi*. I AM that I AM. I will be what I will be. Exodus chapter 6, verse 1 to 6.

Guest (Female): Then the Lord said unto Moses, "Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land." And God spake unto Moses and said unto him, "I am the Lord. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob by the name of God Almighty, but by My name Jehovah was I not known to them. And I have also established My covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.

And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians kept in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Wherefore, say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched-out arm and with great judgments."

Dr. Abel Damina: "And I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you a God. And ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians." Those are statements of sovereignty. Go back to verse 6 and pay attention to the statements of sovereignty. "Wherefore, say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage." Those are statements of sovereignty. "And I will redeem you with a stretched-out arm and with great judgments." Next verse. "And I will take you to Me for a people, I will be to you a God, and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians." Those are statements of sovereignty.

If you look at Exodus the third chapter, the 13th to the 15th verse, He still spoke about His name being the I AM, the self-existent one. Now, please pay attention to this. God's actions are driven by His disposition to save. God's actions are driven by His disposition to save, not arbitrary will, but His disposition to save. Second Peter chapter 3, verse 9. Pay attention.

Guest (Female): The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Dr. Abel Damina: Not willing. See His will. Not willing, the will of God, that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. First Timothy chapter 2, verse 4 to 5. We are looking at God's actions that are driven by His disposition to save.

Guest (Female): Who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Dr. Abel Damina: Who will. The will of God. Who will have all men to be saved. God is not willing. Those are statements of sovereignty. "I will bring you out." "I will rid you out." I AM that I AM. I will bring you unto Myself without your request, without your demand. This is what I will do because I am sovereign. Nobody influenced Me to make this decision. Nobody advised Me. Nobody asked for it. This is what I will do independent of control and influence, and independent of manipulation or request. This is what I will do. Those are statements of sovereignty. Please pay attention. John chapter 3, verse number 16.

Guest (Female): For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Dr. Abel Damina: He so loved the world that He gave. Another statement of sovereignty. He gave His only begotten Son whether you believe or not. Whether you believe or not. He already gave His Son because He loves the world. It is one thing for the world to accept or reject, but He has given His only begotten Son. He didn't give up His Son to die because you promised Him that you would believe. Whether you believe or you don't believe, it is not subject to your decision. It is what He has in His sovereignty decided. Paul would put it like this: He that spared not His Son, but gave Him up for us all, how shall He not also with Him freely give us all things? God's actions that are driven by His disposition to save.

Look at the foreknowledge versus the predestination of God. Foreknowledge versus the predestination of God. Please, I need you to pay attention because we are getting to the climax of 30 Days of Glory 2025. Predestination. Foreknowledge versus predestination. The word "foreknowledge" is the Greek word *proginōskō*. *Pro-gi-no-sko*. *Proginōskō*. Now, that word is not causative. It is not causative. It refers to knowing beforehand. Knowing beforehand. Foreknowledge. It does not mean determining outcomes. Foreknowledge does not mean determining outcomes. Look at First Peter chapter 1, verse 20.

Guest (Female): Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.

Dr. Abel Damina: God hath not cast away His people which He foreknew. Foreknew. Foreknew. *Proginōskō*. Foreknew. It is not causative. It refers to knowing beforehand. And it does not mean determining outcomes. Foreknow. *Proginōskō*. Look at Romans 8:29.

Dr. Abel Damina: For whom He did foreknow. Again, foreknow. He also did predestinate. Foreknow. The foreknowledge of God. Now, let's look at the word "predestination." It is the word *proorizō* in the Greek. Predestination. *Proorizō*. *P-r-o-o-r-i-z-o*. *Proorizō*. It is better understood as an intention backed by actions. An intention backed by actions, not a fixed result. It is not a fixed result. *Proorizō* is not a fixed result. It is an intention backed by actions. *Proorizō*. Predestination. Look at Acts chapter 2, verse 23.

Guest (Female): Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

Dr. Abel Damina: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God. So, intention that is backed by actions, not a fixed result. Acts 4:28.

Guest (Female): For to do whatsoever Thy hand and Thy counsel determined before to be done.

Dr. Abel Damina: Before to be done. First Corinthians chapter 2, verse 7, you can read at home. Romans 8:29 to 30. Please pay attention.

Guest (Female): For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.

Dr. Abel Damina: Them He also glorified. Ephesians, the first chapter, the fifth verse. Please pay attention.

Guest (Female): Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

Dr. Abel Damina: It is according to the good pleasure of His will. Having predestinated us. He has predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ. But watch. Nobody influenced Him to predestinate us. It is according to the good pleasure of His will. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 11.

Guest (Female): In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will.

Dr. Abel Damina: Being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His will. The word "foreknowledge" means knowing beforehand. Foreknowledge. Knowing beforehand. The word "foreordination" means deciding beforehand. Foreordination means deciding beforehand. Then the word "election" means choosing based on prior intent. Choosing based on prior intent, the word "election." Choosing based on prior intent or purpose.

Now, the Greek noun, we are going to do quite some language study tonight. I hope you came with your thinking caps. The Greek noun *proorismos*. The Greek noun *proorismos*. *P-r-o-r-i-s-m-o-s*. *Proorismos* of *proorizō* used outside the Bible. Used outside the Bible, that Greek noun *proorismos* of *proorizō* that is used outside the Bible illustrates that predestination is a plan or direction. That predestination is a plan or direction. That is the Greek noun *proorismos* when it is used outside the Bible. And predestination has been erroneously understood outside the Bible as a guaranteed outcome. Predestination has been wrongly understood outside the Bible as a guaranteed outcome.

Jesus as the fulfillment. Jesus as the fulfillment. Jesus is the fulfillment of the name. He is the fulfillment of the name and a fulfillment of the promise of Yahweh. Jesus is the fulfillment of the name and the fulfillment of the promise of Yahweh in humanity.

The word "Jesus" is the word *Yeshua* in the Hebrew. *Yeshua* is spelled as Y-E-S-H-U-A. *Yeshua* means Yahweh is salvation. Yahweh is salvation. That is the meaning of *Yeshua* or Joshua or Jesus. Because Jesus is Joshua in Hebrew. *Yeshua HaMashiach*. All right? So, *Yeshua* is Yahweh is salvation. Now, John chapter 1, verse 14. Jesus as the fulfillment of the name and the promise of God.

Guest (Female): And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Dr. Abel Damina: And the Word, which was God. In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God. The Word was God. And the Word, which was God, was made flesh. *Yeshua* is salvation. The fulfillment of the name of God and the fulfillment of the promise of God in humanity. Glory to God.

Now, observe that incarnation is an act of God's will. Incarnation, the incarnation of Christ, the descent of God into humanity, is an act of God's will. It is an act of God's will. The word *ginomai* in the Greek. *Ginomai* in the Greek. G-I-N-O-M-A-I. Not a mere circumstance. Because Jesus embodies God's salvation intent. Jesus embodies God's salvation intent. The intent of God to save is embodied in Jesus. He is the embodiment of the intent of God to save.

He is Yahweh among humanity. Emmanuel. God with us. Or God amongst us. Emmanuel. Not just in name, but in reality and action. In reality and action. It is injustice to say God predestined some people to go to hell. It is injustice because if He gives unequal opportunity, then He is not just. If He will choose one and hate the other, then there is no justice. Marginalization is not justice. Justice is equal opportunity given to everybody.

The grace of God explains sovereignty. Please don't miss that forever. The grace of God is the explanation to God's sovereignty. The grace of God. Not random divine control. The grace of God is not random divine control, but intentional loving actions. The grace of God is intentional loving actions aimed at salvation. Intentional loving actions aimed at salvation. So, the misrepresentation of predestination will lead to fatalism. Oh, it will lead to fatalism. Misrepresentation of predestination.

God's actions are based on His nature. God's actions are based on His character. How do I know God's nature and character? Examine His actions. Where do I see the actions of God and the character of God? Emmanuel. Emmanuel. God with us. The Word, which is God, became flesh. So, the actions of God in flesh and the activities of God in flesh absolutely define His character and His nature. God's actions are based on His nature and character, not blind determinism. Not blind determinism.

The doctrine of salvation is communicated in words. The doctrine of salvation is communicated in words. Everything we read here or have read so far is in words. Things that were said. So, salvation is codified in language form. Salvation is codified in language form. If it can be in words, then it means it is in language. If it can be in words, then it means it is in language. For it to be in words also means it is in a readable, understandable language.

For all of God's plan for man, all of God's purpose for man, all of God's intent towards man, all of God's sovereignty, and all of God's foreknowledge and predestined plan is in words, which means it is in language. Human language. And if it is in human language, it means it's in a readable, understandable language, which means that the doctrine of salvation can be understood whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.

When you read. No wonder every time they confronted Jesus with questions, He would ask them, "Have you not read? Have you not read?" Because everything about God that man will need to know is already written. All the answers to the questions of life and all the answers to your inquiries are already written. Have you not read? So, it can be read. It can be seen. That is why it is believed. It can be read, it can be seen. That is why it is believed.

And that is why I took time in the past two weeks to deal with language, to deal with grammar, to deal with vocabulary, to deal with history, to deal with culture of the writers of scripture. I took time to take us to sit where they sat and look at how words were used in their world, and then brought us to our world to see what they were saying when they said what they said: that God poured disaster, God rained fire, God brought death, God did that. We saw that there is no causative or permissive tenses. So, when they said God rained fire, it was the inactivity of God or what we call the absence of God. We took time to do all of that, and we did all of that to get here. Glory to God.

So, in examining the sovereignty of God, what do you mean that God is sovereign? Just like we said at the beginning, that the dictionaries, both the Webster's and the Oxford, putting together mean that all the usages of that word "sovereign" mean someone who is independent of control. First Corinthians chapter 8, verse 6. Someone who is independent of control or influence.

Guest (Female): But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.

Dr. Abel Damina: But to us, there is one God. Then he says, the Father. There is one God, then he says the Father. Now, notice the substance. God the Father, and we are in Him. Then he said, one Lord Jesus Christ, and we by Him. One Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him. Again, he is conferring on Jesus deity. He is conferring on Jesus deity. One God, the deity of Jesus.

So, salvation is God's sovereignty because in salvation, we see His independence from human interference. In salvation, we see the independence of God from human influence. And in salvation, we see the independence of God from human control. "I will," "I will," "I will," "I will" because "I am that I am and I will be what I will be." Independent of control, independent of influence by man, all put together in the salvation plan of God.

When we talk about grace, from the Greek word *charis*. *C-h-a-r-i-s*. And the word *charisma*. *C-h-a-r-i-s-m-a*. *Charis* or *charisma*. It describes the free nature of what God has done. Grace describes the free nature of what God has done. The free nature. The word "grace" is not the number five. The word "grace" is a description of God's free nature in what He has done.

When you put it together, the word "grace" means free from control and free from influence. That is, it is not given because of control. It is not given because someone influenced it. It is not given because someone asked for it. It is not given in response to a request. Oh yeah. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, independent of man's influence or control. The grace of God. The grace of God. It is not given because someone influenced Him. That's why some people call it unmerited favor. Undeserving. Unsolicited for. Something that was not deserved or influenced to be given.

So, again, it explains what we have been saying about the sovereignty of God within the framework of salvation. It is not reckless sovereignty. It is not reckless sovereignty. God will do everything that He pleases. Shut up your mouth. It is not reckless sovereignty. Stop misleading people and assassinating the character of God. Titus chapter 2, verse 11.

Guest (Female): For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.

Dr. Abel Damina: The grace of God. What is the destination of the grace of God? Salvation. Not car. Grace for car, grace for marriage. That one is made in Taiwan. The grace of God is on its way to a destination: salvation. The grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all. Grace is a compound word for all the actions of God taken at salvation.

Grace is a compound word for all the actions of God taken at salvation. All. All of God's actions. Beginning from the incarnation, the descent of God into humanity, the sufferings of Christ, the death, the burial, the resurrection. All are described as the grace of God. All are described as the grace of God. It is a cognate noun. A noun that describes what God did. Yeah, it is a cognate noun.

I can give you something because you asked. I can give you something to control you. I can give you something because you influenced me to give you. But grace is given independent of actions or control or influence or any such thing. It is a cognate noun in English. Nobody influenced God. It was predetermined. Not based on something. It was predetermined.

In Bible school, not this particular year but previous years when I taught grace in the class, we saw the root word of the word "grace" among the Greeks, the word *charis*, *charisma*. The word *hesed*, loving-kindness. *Charis*, *charisma*. And we saw that among the Greeks, when somebody gives you a letter of credit and you take a loan from the person, then you are not able to pay. That is where the word "grace" came from because every word has a background.

You are not able to pay. So, the person you are owing will look at you and assess all your assets, all your liabilities, and everything you have. When he has calculated and analyzed you and discovered in a million lifetimes, even if they sell you with everything that gives you value, you can never pay, he will come to you and say, "Even though you will never be useful to me, you will never be of value to me ever, even if I sell you and all that you have, you are still useless. I have decided to bestow my grace on you."

That is, "I have forgiven you, and in my forgiveness, I restore you to a place of value." That is the meaning of the word "grace." That God saw our uselessness. That the death of Jesus was not prompted by any profit because we are profitless. Is there English like that? We are profitless. Bankrupt. Broke. Hopeless and helpless. Destitute. No wonder the songwriter said, "Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me." Wretches all over the place.

When God looked down, no value whatsoever. Have you ever been in mid-air in the aircraft, just up here, thirty-something thousand feet above sea level? When you look down, you can't even see humans because they are tinier than dust. Yet for these insignificant, hopeless, helpless, miserable, rebellious nonentities, God took His life and offered it to purchase you. The grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared unto all men.

That is the grace of God. Am I teaching good tonight? So, for somebody to say "grace to marry" is an insult to the word "grace." "Grace to travel" or "buy a house" is a public display of gross illiteracy. The only thing that is qualified to describe the grace of God is salvation. The only thing that is qualified to describe the grace of God is salvation. That is why it is the grace of God that bringeth salvation. Teaching good? Stay with me.

The grace of God. The grace of God. I say, the grace of God. Hallelujah. So, all of the actions of God in salvation is a description of the grace of God. We saw it in Exodus chapter 6. I will, I will, I will. Exodus 3:14: Tell them I AM sent you. So, in salvation, God is I AM. The I AM of God is only seen within salvation. It is only seen within salvation. *Egō eimi* in the Greek. E-G-O E-I-M-I. *Egō eimi* means I am what I am, I will be what I will be to save.

So, the totality of the I AM can only be seen in salvation. No wonder Paul would put it like this: I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. The gospel is the power of God. Where is the totality of God's power? Unto salvation. So, all of God's power is only made manifest within the framework of salvation. So, the I AM can only be seen in salvation. The I AM can only be seen in salvation. He said, tell them I AM sent you. Sent you to do what? To tell Pharaoh, let my people go. So, the I AM can only be seen in setting the people free to a place of salvation. Am I communicating at all? Tell Pharaoh I sent you.

I love the way the Amplified puts Exodus chapter 6, verse 3. Give me the AMPC. I'd like you to read for me, AMPC. Let's go.

Guest (Female): "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty (El-Shaddai), but by My name the Lord (Yahweh—the redemptive name of God) I did not make Myself known to them."

Dr. Abel Damina: Hold on. By My name the Lord, Yahweh. What is Yahweh? The redemptive name of God. So, Yahweh can only be seen in redemption. Outside redemption, you will never see Yahweh. Yahweh, the redemptive name of God. I did not make Myself known to them in acts and miracles because miracles and acts are not exclusive to Yahweh. But salvation is the exclusive, exclusive right and responsibility of Yahweh. The I AM.

The I AM, the redemptive name of God. Which means I AM or Yahweh is God's self-revelation. I AM or Yahweh is God's self-revelation. So, the revelation God first gave someone is in salvation. The revelation that God first gave to any person was in salvation. That is why the Amplified calls it the redemptive name. That is, He will be what He will be to redeem. That explains the incarnation to you. So, He says, I am what I am, He is the I AM. The I AM to save. He will be what He will be. So, that means God, when telling Moses I AM that I AM, He was talking grace to Moses. He was speaking grace to Moses.

Notice, God's redemptive action predates the law. God's redemptive action predates the law, which establishes salvation as an act of sovereign grace. It establishes salvation as an act of sovereign grace, not a reaction to human sin. An act of sovereign grace, it is not a reaction to human sin. This is before the law was given. Because when the law was given, it is "thou shalt not, thou shalt not, thou shalt not, thou shalt not." Before the law was given is "I will, I will, I will." God's sovereign grace independent of human influence.

Much later in Jeremiah 31:33 to 34.

Guest (Female): "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, saith the Lord, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord': for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Dr. Abel Damina: A New Covenant means a new promise. That's the meaning of a New Covenant: a new promise. Again, it's not English. Covenant in the Bible is not English covenant. In English language or in the legal system of today, a covenant is a pledge, a vow, an agreement between two or three parties to carry out certain terms. And if any party breaks the terms, he is punished. That's a covenant. In biblical language, in Hebraism, a covenant is a self-fulfilling promise. The word *epangelia*. A promise I made, not because I saw your resources. A promise I made, not depending on your capability or abilities. A promise I made without the influence of your actions or the influence of your weight or the influence of your poverty or lack or the influence of your abundance. A self-fulfilling commitment. A commitment I made to you based on My resources, My ability, My capability.

So, the word covenant is *epangelia*, a promise. That is why the Bible says, "For when God made promise to Abraham, seeing..." Put it up for me. Hebrews chapter 6, verse 13. I hope it is correct. If it is not, you better find it. Hebrews. As you are typing the computer, find it. For when God made promise to Abraham, seeing He could swear... Hebrews 6:13. For when God made promise to Abraham, He made what? Promise. And that is what you call the Abrahamic covenant. The Abrahamic covenant is a promise. It is not covenant.

Hey people, "covenant day of this," "covenant..." Stop that! Covenant day of what? It is unjust for a mortal man to be in covenant with immortal. It is not possible. There is no fairness. There is no fairness. It is unfair for a sinful man to be in covenant with a sinless God. Where are they begin... where are we starting it from? A man that only knows how to sin, a man that cannot successfully go through a day without sin, to enter a covenant with a God that does not know sin. Where is the covenant... where are we starting it from?

So, when you say "me and God we have covenant," you don't understand Bible. You can never have a covenant with God. Never in a billion years. In fact, forever. So, since God has seen your bankruptcy, He never asks you for a covenant. He made promise. Say promise. Say it again, say promise. So, the word covenant means what? Promise. In today's language, what is it? Promise. For when God made promise to Abraham because He could swear by no greater. When He was trying to say, "Abraham, Abraham, Abraham, I swear to God..." There was no God.

And God swearing was an act of mercy. Why would God have to swear? Because Abraham was in doubt. God said, "Abraham, I will do." Abraham doubted. So, in order for God to put an end to the doubts in Abraham's heart, God needed a human ally that would give Him a legal right to step into humanity and carry out His plan. And having looked for one, He found Abraham. Abraham believed, and Abraham got into a relationship with God. So, God found an ally He could use: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. But the Abraham that believed began to doubt. So, God had to fix the doubt. So, God came down, stepped down to human level, and said, "What can I do to stop the doubt and to assure Abraham that I'm serious?"

Well, in our day today, if you want to assure somebody that you're serious, especially in Nigeria, you say, "I swear." Is that true? I swear. I swear to God! I swear to God! So, God came down and said, "How can I swear to God so Abraham will come down?" So, God is trying to swear, but there is no God that God will swear by. God looked for... because in swearing, you swear with something that is greater than you. God looked for... no one is greater. So, God said, "I, Jehovah, I swear by Myself. I swear by Myself that what I have said, I will do." A self-fulfilling commitment. *Epangelia*. Teaching good tonight?

So, God gave a New Covenant, which means a new promise. In fact, that word, "a New Covenant," that word, "a New Covenant," actually means a renewal. A renewal. Something you are saying for the benefit of hearing it again. Something you are saying for the benefit of hearing it again. And when He said it, He said it as a reference to the Old Testament. For it to be a promise given to us of God, and then Paul had told us that it is His predetermination.

So, the New Covenant is a *proorizō* of God. A *proorizō* in the Greek. The New Covenant is a *proorizō* of God because if it is a reaction, then it takes away sovereignty in salvation. If it's a reaction, then it takes away sovereignty because sovereignty means independent of influence. It is not far-fetched because the Old Covenant, He said, "I will rescue you, I will deliver you, I will bring you to Myself." Notice all the terms of the New Covenant: I will, I will, I will. Those are the terms. Notice, He is not talking to Abraham in Exodus; He is talking to Moses. I will, I will, I will.

So, a New Covenant here is to say something again because He had said it before to Abraham. Now, He is repeating it again to Moses for their benefit, to hear it anew. That is why the writer of Hebrews will now call it a new. Hebrews 8:13, as I round off. Oh my goodness, why did this time fly, man? I am yet to start. I've not started, trust me. Hebrews 8:13. But thank God we have tomorrow. Let's go.

Guest (Female): In that He saith, "A new covenant," He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Dr. Abel Damina: He has made the first old. That is, He has retired the first without benefits. It is not new as a replacement or to add to what I said before. Rather, "I am renewing My promise to you. I'm re-echoing it so that you hear it well because the other time I said it, you were not there." That's the meaning of New Covenant. It's not like God has an Old Covenant, then He has a New Covenant. Honey, you know, a lack of understanding that is why people think there is a God of the Old Testament and a God of the New Testament. A God of the Old Testament has an Old Covenant. A God of the New Testament has a New Covenant. A God of the Old Testament: thunder and fire and brimstone. A God of the New Testament: the death of Jesus got Him born again.

The God of the Old Testament was full of terror. The other side of God. The other side of God. You know, Dr. Damina is preaching one side, but God has two sides. The other side. One side is love, the other side is disaster. What a monster of a God. Two heads. Monstrous. No, that's not the God of the Bible. The same yesterday, the same today, the same forever. In Malachi, He said, "I the Lord, I changeth not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." Consistently, constantly, constant. Teaching good? He doesn't have two sides.

So, that's why it's clear in Bible exegesis that the New Covenant precedes the old. The New Covenant is older than the old. The New Covenant is older than the Old Covenant, or the Old Covenant is younger than the new. The Old Covenant is younger than the New Covenant, which means the plan was the New Covenant. The plan has always been and will always be the New Covenant. In fact, the Old Covenant was not God's alternative. The Old Covenant was not God's alternative. God has only one covenant, has only had one covenant, has never had a second covenant. It's always been one, one covenant.

So, why do we have the Old Covenant? Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to have the Old Covenant. But from the beginning, which is the New Testament, it was not so. Watch, God doesn't change His mind. He doesn't. Titus 1:2.

Guest (Female): In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.

Dr. Abel Damina: God has only had one promise before the world began: eternal life. There are not two promises. It's always been. From Eden, the promise was one: life. All through the days of Moses: life. Abraham: life. Noah: life. Jacob: life. Isaac: life. Sodom and Gomorrah: life. The gospel was preached to them as well as unto us. Same gospel: eternal life. There are not two covenants. There are no two covenants. God does not react. There is no shadow of turning in Him. The same consistent. He doesn't change His mind. Galatians 3:15, as I close. Guest (Female): Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant...

Dr. Abel Damina: Hold on. "Though it be but a man's covenant." So, the Old Covenant is a man's covenant. The New Covenant is God's covenant. God doesn't have two covenants. Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Next verse.

Guest (Female): Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.

Dr. Abel Damina: The New Testament never said was the covenant made. Covenant is Old Testament. When the language advanced, in the Greeks they had more advanced vocabulary. So, they didn't use covenant; they used promise. Because that's exactly what God did. Promises made. He saith not, "And to seeds," as of many; but as of one, "And to thy seed," which is Christ. Next verse. And this I say, that the covenant... Now he's making reference to the Old Testament, so he brings in the covenant. That was confirmed before... where? Of God. Where? In Christ. The law... so, the law, the covenant, the law. So, what came before the law? The covenant or the promise. And the promise was where? In Christ.

So, the first thing God gave man was what? The promise. Where? In Christ. Then after that came what? The law. The law, which was 430 years after, cannot disannul that it should make the promise of none effect. Next verse. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise; but God gave it to Abraham how? By promise. Abraham has nothing to do. He's just to take it and run with it. "Ask of me the heathen, and I will give you for your inheritance; the uttermost part of the earth for your possession." God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Next verse. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added. It was not the plan. It was not the will of God, but God allowed it, the permissive. It was added because of transgressions. And the transgression was for a period, till the seed should come. Who is the seed of Abraham? Christ! To whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels where? In the hand of a mediator. So, the law was ordained by angels. So, the law was the complete operation of Moses and angels. Angelostreskeia. Angels' operation. And what did he say about this angelic operation? What did he say about this angels' operation? What did he say? Hebrews. Hebrews. If the word which was spoken by angels... Put it up for me, chapter 2, verse 1, right?

Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. Next verse. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast... sharp, sharp, sharp. And every transgression under that law and disobedience, like Uzzah touching the ark and dying. Angels cleared him because they were the administrators of the law, and they have no mercy. That's why there are a lot of killings in the Old Testament. It was angels operating by law. And under the law, you break one, you are wiped out. No mercy. That's why even Moses feared Mount Sinai. He said, "I greatly fear and I tremble. When I saw what my hands have produced, I was afraid of what I have done." Then he says, how shall we escape? So, our escape from Moses and angelic operation is so great salvation. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared unto all men. Stand on your feet, let's celebrate salvation!

Glory to God! Glory to God! Glory to God! Turn to your neighbor, say, "Neighbor, I am saved eternally. I am saved forever. I am saved forever. And Christ, who saved me, keeps me, preserves me. He has a commandment from His Father never to lose me, so I can never be lost. Glory to God!" Are you blessed tonight? Is everything tying together?

Father, I pray that the light shines in our hearts. Revelation knowledge grows big on our inside. Clarity upon clarity, doubts dissolved, fears dispelled, confidence reassured. Thank You for being the anchor of our souls. Thank You for Your peace that passeth all understanding. Thank You that Your people are grounded and rooted in the truth that is in Christ Jesus. And thank You, Lord, that the light shines in darkness, and the darkness cannot comprehend it. So, we declare all over the nations of the earth, so mightily is the word growing and prevailing. Thank You, Father. And we give You praise for answered prayer tonight. In Jesus' name we pray, and every believer says that amen on a note of celebration! Well, go ahead and celebrate the salvation you have.

Are you celebrating what? Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory! Glory to God! Somebody shout, "I am saved! Saved, saved, saved, forever!" Tell your neighbor, "I am OSAS: once saved, always saved. Glory to God!" Amen, amen, I said amen! OSAS, that sounds like an Edo name. Edonode carry last, OSAS! Glory to God!

Oh my goodness, the word of God is life. The Bible tells us the entrance of God's word giveth light, and it giveth understanding to the simple. As you keep listening, the light of God's word rises out of the rightly divided word of truth, illuminates your mind, illuminates your heart, and brings you face to face with your realities in Christ Jesus. In Ephesians chapter 3, verse 3, Brother Paul, speaking about the mystery, the Old Testament, he said, "Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ."

So, there is a knowledge in the mystery of Christ. The word mystery is the word *mystērion* in the Greek. It means that which is concealed. And then he says how that by revelation, the word revelation is the word *apokalypsis*. It means that which is revealed. So, the revelation of the scriptures unveils the mysteries. Revelation is the New Testament; mystery is the Old Testament. But it will take reading and learning to come to a place of full understanding, precise and accurate knowledge.

Brother Daniel will say, "I understood by books." So, there's a place of books in equipping you soundly with the message of Christ. Brother Paul will write to Timothy, he says to Timothy, "Till I come, give attendance to reading." Jesus, speaking to those Jews, says, "Ye do err, because ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God." Oftentimes, Jesus would say to the Jews, "Have ye not read?" is the word *anaginōskō* in the Greek. It means, "Are you reading and not paying attention?"
