Homecoming 2025 Part 5
Dr. Abel Damina: Who is fully dressed to win this evening? Glory to God. Who is fully dressed to win this evening? Glory, glory, glory. Amen! Homecoming 2025. Tell your neighbor, "It is happening!" Glory to God. Father, thank you that we have this another opportunity to fellowship. To fellowship in the truth and to fellowship in the light that is found in Christ Jesus.
Thank you for the privilege of being known by you, the privilege of walking in the light. We walk in the light even as you are in the light, so the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness. So tonight, I ask that revelation knowledge is gifted everyone under the sound of my voice. Whatever is not planted by God is rooted out. Burdens and yokes are destroyed. Your people are built up, equipped, edified, and Jesus is glorified.
So we rejoice that tonight, by the end of this service, no one leaves the same way they came. We give you praise and glory for answered prayer. In Jesus' name we pray, and every believer says a powerful amen. Lift your right hands to heaven, let us release our faith together as we say these words. I am born of God. I am born of the Word. The Word of God is my nature. I do not struggle to do the Word.
I do the Word naturally. Therefore, today, I will understand the Word of His grace. I will be built up. By the end of this service, I will never be the same. Never, ever be the same again in Jesus' name. Every believer says a powerful amen. Are we excited to have one another in this place? Go ahead and celebrate our fellowship together in the Word tonight. Look for somebody, shake somebody, hug somebody, love somebody. Tell them you will be blessed because I came.
Grab your pen, your notebook, your Bible. You can be seated with your sweet, smart self tonight as we get into the Word of His grace. We want to welcome everybody connected to this service by way of Kingdom Life Network and everybody connected by way of WAP TV. What a joy and honor to have all of you connected. It is Homecoming 2025 and we are so glad to welcome you to our service. If this is the first time you are joining us, well, this is our Homecoming conference where we assemble every year.
We have people traveling from all over the world to be part of this conference. We are glad to welcome you. We want to welcome all citizens in this service and around the world. We want you to know we are in this together. Our vision is to reintroduce Jesus to this generation, equipping the believer to know who you are in Christ, what you have in Christ, and what Christ can do through you.
That is the vision that drives us continually. That is why we are assembled here this week to reinforce this vision, to reinforce the details of this vision, to reinforce this mandate so that when we leave this place, we have the whole world as our palace to dominate and to bring forth fruits that will bring glory to Jesus. So we are glad to welcome you and it is going to be an exciting time.
Yesterday I put a pause on the character of God to continue in Soteria Season 13. Yesterday I just put a pause there. We will continue Soteria Season 13 on the character of God. You really cannot finish that for the rest of your life, so it will be loading in the year to come. But this morning in the morning session, I began to talk to us in the Homecoming conference on "The Mission is Possible." The mission is possible. This mandate is possible. The assignment is possible. What God has called us to do as a family is possible.
The Spirit of God is stirring our hearts, everyone in this building and all over the world, concerning God's purpose for the earth. I began to talk about yielding to the voice of God's Spirit. Winning more territories in Christ's victory begins with a commitment to the scriptures. We said this morning that the supernatural begins with our commitment to the scriptures. The supernatural is not spooky. It begins with our commitment to the scriptures.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable. The profitability of scripture means the scriptures were written for profit. They were written to profit us, but they only become profitable for teaching or explanation. So if the Holy Ghost inspired the scriptures, which means the scriptures are supernatural, the supernatural begins with our commitment to the scriptures. We saw Psalm 33 verse 4, verse 10, and verse 11. I love to read it again.
Guest (Male): For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done in truth. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. Verse 10: The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. Verse 11: The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Dr. Abel Damina: We established that the term "Word" here was translated from the Hebrew word "Dabar," which implies a word spoken and by further implication, it refers to a matter spoken or a matter discussed. A word spoken, a matter spoken, or a matter discussed. Then we said the clause "the counsel of the Lord standeth forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations" explains the word "Dabar," the Word of the Lord, which therefore refers to the counsel and thoughts of God. The counsel and thoughts of God.
Then we looked at that word "Dabar" transliterated into the Greek in the Septuagint as the word "Logos." The term "Logos" implies a statement, an intent, a story, a message, and more emphatically, it speaks of a conclusion. A conclusion or a collection of facts that say the same thing. It speaks of a conclusion or a collection of facts that say the same thing, which is the plan of God. We took time to look at how the scriptures reveal the plan of God. They reveal the purpose of God.
The scriptures use history, oral tradition, events, persons, and things to teach faith in Christ Jesus. Romans 15:4 says, "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." So we looked at an example of how God commanded the light to shine out of darkness. We began to establish that when brother Paul was writing, he was doing exegesis from Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 to 3. God said, "Let there be light."
The light there is the person of the Christ, and that light shines in the hearts of a man who hears the gospel and believes the gospel. Then we began to look at the plan of God for every man. God said, "Let us make man in our image; let them have dominion over the fowls, the fishes." God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
Then we saw a corroboration to that plan of God in Genesis. Isaiah 11:9 says, "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." We saw Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 14: "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." This is God's plan from Genesis. It has always been God's consistent plan. Because God's plan for every man on earth was that He would shine in their hearts.
This was what was given to Adam. God's plan for Adam was that he should partake of and be in this plan, but Adam was found in disobedience. God said, "I will put enmity between thee and the seed and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Adam rejected the plan, so God took that plan to Abraham. Genesis chapter 12, the Lord said unto Abraham, "Get thee out of thy father's house, from thy kindred, and from thy people, unto a land that I will show thee.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." That phrase "families of the earth be blessed" is a rephrasing of Genesis 1:26 to 28. Multiply, fruitful, subdue the earth, have dominion. Same thing. Shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Now, so while Adam was in disobedience to God's plan, Abraham was found in obedience to God's plan.
We began to look at the mission of the church, that God's plan from Genesis was that the light would shine through man. That man is God's method. God can do nothing on the earth until He finds an ally in a man. He started with Adam. Adam said no. He waited until He found Abraham. And Abraham believed God and it was credited to his account as righteousness.
Guest (Male): Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse 3 to 7. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Dr. Abel Damina: That word "Hear" was translated from the Hebrew word "Shama," which implies what is heard, what is announced, or a message. Then in verse 4, the word "Lord" in the Hebrew was translated from the Hebrew word "Jehovah," YHWH. I asked you to pronounce it. All of you were doing as if you were speaking Chinese. There are no vowels in the Hebrew, so that's why the best way they could transliterate that was Jehovah. While the word "God" in the Hebrew was translated from the word "Elohim."
So those words were used by Moses to describe God. Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one. There is Lord, there is God, is one. The word "Lord" is the word "Jehovah," while the word "God" is the word "Elohim." Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our Elohim or Elohim our Jehovah is one God. The word "one" was translated from the Hebrew word "Echad," E-C-H-A-D, Echad. The Lord our God is one. Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one. Echad. Echad means a single entity, a thing, a person or persons that are one and the same.
So He is God Elohim, who will become Lord Jehovah to save man. God Elohim, who will become Lord Jehovah to save man, and this can be examined in the lives of some individuals in scripture who serve as examples to us today. So we began to look at Abraham. When the Lord said unto Abraham, "Get thee out of thy father's house," the corroboration to that today is Colossians chapter 1 verse 13. Who had delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
We began to establish that the blessing of Abraham was not wealth. It was not properties and houses. The blessing of Abraham was the preaching of the gospel, which becomes beneficial in turning you away from your iniquities. So which means the blessing of Abraham is the forgiveness of sins devoid of works. The forgiveness of sins devoid of works. So God in the book of Acts 3:25 to 26, we see that the blessing of Abraham is to turn away every one of you from his iniquities.
Just like Abraham was told to let out of his father's house to a land, believers are led out of darkness into the Son. Two things about Abraham: number one, his faith in the gospel; number two, his preaching of the same. His faith in the gospel. The message that saves you makes a messenger of that same message out of you. The message that saves you make a—makes a messenger of that same message out of you. And then we saw that Abraham was kept at the center of God's purpose.
This purpose and plan of God for Abraham, we saw that Abraham was a prophet, the word "Nabi," and that was his function. We saw how that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, all of them were prophets. Abraham was a prophet. So when you hear Abraham's blessings, don't think of car and house. The blessing of Abraham is Abraham being welcomed into the plan of God. Abraham agreeing to work with God as an ally, and Abraham is welcomed into the blessing of God.
What is the blessing of God? Blessed are the feet of those who bring good tidings. The blessing is the fullness of the gospel. I thought somebody would shout Hallelujah. Then we began to see Moses. The same thing was spoken to Moses. Hebrews 11:24 and 25: By faith, Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season. Verse 26: Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt. Why? He had respect unto the recompense of the reward.
Well, it's obvious that the nation of Egypt was wealthier and greater in repute naturally than the nation of Israel. Egypt was wealthier than Israel, but Moses never identified with Egypt. He also carried with him God's will, God's plan, God's purpose as he departed from Egypt. So the relocation is not an excuse to forsake God's plan. Relocating from one city to another is not an excuse to abandon God's plan. Which means a believer's pursuit and a believer's desires and ambition must be brought under the higher fact.
Your pursuit, your vision, your ambitions must be brought under the higher fact of the call of God. Whatever pursuit you have, whatever career you want to go for, whatever ambition you have for life, nothing can measure with the plan, the purpose, and the will of God for your life. Now, this explanation by Moses concerning Abraham is concerning the whole earth. God wants the gospel in all the nations of the earth. Wherever you're hearing the sound of my voice, God is equipping you and training you through this ministry to raise you up an ambassador of God's mandate where you are.
It's not an accident that you're connected to hearing me on television, on radio, on social media. It's not an accident. God is raising an army of men and women that will shake this world and fill this earth with the savor of His grace. And you're one in the number. I didn't hear somebody say an amen for that.
Guest (Male): Genesis chapter 10, verse 5. It says, "But these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands, every one after his tongue, after their families in their nations."
That's God's plan: tongues, families, and nations. That's God's plan: tongues, families, and nations. God wants to reach all. No single man can do it. It will take men, a group of men who are united in obedience to God's will and plan to take that mandate to the ends of the earth. Now observe that at this point, the nation of Israel was not yet born.
Guest (Male): Genesis chapter 10, verse 20, verse 31 and 32. These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations. Verse 31: These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations. Verse 32: These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
Dr. Abel Damina: At this point, there were 70 nations and God was interacting with all nations. God was interacting with all nations. That's why sometimes when people say to me, "What about people who have not heard the gospel?" you know your problem. Your problem is you are calculating the move of the Spirit logically. You are calculating the move of the Spirit logically. You are not aware of where the Spirit is at work. So you are using your logic to say, "I am not sure there is gospel here. I am not sure there is gospel there."
But you do not underestimate the move of God's Spirit all over the earth. The Spirit is moving. Glory to God. Some of you that are here, somebody wouldn't have known that from where you came from, the gospel is already shining there. You cannot use logic to interpret the move of God. So is every one that is born of God. It's like the wind. You can't tell where it's coming from. You can't tell where it's going to. That is how people are that are born of the Spirit. Glory to God.
Genesis chapter 12, verse 1: "Now the Lord had said unto Abraham, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." Genesis chapter 17, verse 4, pay attention. "As for me, behold my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations."
Genesis 28:18: "And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because thou hast obeyed my voice." Wow. Genesis 28 verse 14: "And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, to the east, to the north, to the south. Thou shalt spread." We're spreading! We're spreading. "Thou shalt spread abroad to the west, to the east, to the north, to the south, and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed."
God's intention is to bring other nations into the gospel through Israel. That was God's plan. To bring all nations into the gospel through the nation of Israel. Before Israel, God had 70 nations. Before there was a nation called Israel, God already had interaction with 70 nations. But His plan was to have all nations through the obedience of the nation of Israel. Numbers 11:14, 14 to 18. "I am not able to bear all these people alone because it is too heavy for me." This is Moses. Verse 15: "And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand. If I have found favor in thy sight, and let me not see my wretchedness." Kill me fast. This is too much. This is too much for me.
That's Moses. And if you will not help me, kill me. Moses is like some of the legalistic preachers of today as at this point. Verse 16: "And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel whom thou knowest."
Guest (Male): To be the elders of the people and officers over them, and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation that they may stand there with thee.
Dr. Abel Damina: If your Bible was mine, you would underline "whom thou knowest." That means there is nothing like an emergency people. Whom thou knowest. PJ, read on. Whom thou knowest.
Guest (Male): To be the elders of the people and officers over them, and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation that they may stand there with thee.
Dr. Abel Damina: They must be people whom thou knowest. They have a history of spiritual development. You can track where they got born again. You can track where they began to grow. You can track their discipleship class. You can track how many people they have brought into the kingdom. You can track their exemplary living. Whom thou knowest to be the leaders among the people. No overnight leadership. It's always a process. It's always a process. Who you know. They are not an emergency people. Look at that Numbers 11:17, PJ. Numbers 11:17.
Guest (Male): And I will come down and talk with thee there, and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee and will put it upon them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.
Dr. Abel Damina: He says to bear the burden of the people, and that they will put the Spirit. He says He will put the Spirit upon them. To bear the burden, He will put the Spirit upon them. It's not just to bear the burden. In order for you to bear the burden, you will need the Spirit because you can't do the work of the Spirit in the flesh. The work of the Spirit can only be done in the Spirit by the Spirit. It can only be done in the Spirit. It can only be done by the Spirit.
The Spirit was upon them and they prophesied. So the Spirit upon them was in manifestation. It's not people that are full of the Spirit you never see it manifest. Their own Spirit is always internally quiet. You look for the Spirit, you can't find it. If you talk too much, they say it's inside. We are not arguing that it's inside; please stay there with it. For you to lead people, the Spirit inside must come out because it's the one outside that will lead the people, not the one inside. Say, "I hear you!" I'm not hearing you. Say, "I hear you!"
It's got to be done by the Spirit. It's not by might nor power. It's not by intellectual capacity, it's by the Spirit. Say, "By the Spirit!" Can I hear you louder? Are you meditating? Are you sure you are in this building? Let me hear a "Homecoming by the Spirit!" It's got to be done by the Spirit. They prophesied. And when they started prophesying, two people that were not inside the hall started prophesying from outside. If you have it, you have it. Whether you are inside or in the overflow, if you have it, you have it. And when it's on you, we will know it's on you because we will see the fruit.
We will see the fruit of the Spirit. We will see the manifestation of the Spirit. We will see the way you cheaply get people saved, the way you cheaply raise disciples, the way you cheaply see the work of God done, the way you cheaply teach Sunday school. We can see that this man is filled with the Spirit. That's a Spirit leader. And those are the people that will do this work because this work will not be done by carnal men. It will be done by men that are full of the Spirit. Say, "I hear you!" It will be done by men that are full of the Spirit.
One of our service I started speaking in tongues. Somebody commented on Facebook, "Ah, even Dr. Damina, you speak this gibberish?" I wanted to type while I was preaching, "You are not welcome here," but I left it for others because I have raised enough people to take care of such stray bullets. People think I am not a Spirit man. Dr. Damina, do you speak in tongues? I be unknown tongue-la! I am a Spirit man! There are cities you cannot take without the Spirit. There are mountains you cannot dissolve without the Spirit. Somebody shout, "By the Spirit!"
Jesus said, "Tarry in Jerusalem." Tarry where? Until you be endued with power from on high. You shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, then you shall be what? Witnesses! So don't go yet until you receive power. You cannot do the work of the Spirit in the flesh. The work of the Spirit can only be done where? In the Spirit. Am I teaching in this house? And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were together, Homecoming. The day of Pentecost was in Homecoming.
All the Jews from around the world, they gathered in Jerusalem. It was in Jerusalem, Homecoming. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Homecoming is for tonguing, brother! (Damina begins praying in tongues) But ye, beloved, building up your most holy faith, rise up higher and higher like an edifice, praying in the Holy Ghost. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man maketh tremendous power available that is dynamic in its working.
Generate power! Generate power! (Damina continues praying in tongues) Somebody shout, "Holy Ghost!" Say, "I speak in tongues and I interpret my tongues." Hold on, I was doing a podcast with some guys and Daddy Freeze was on that set. Daddy Freeze said, "In all this speaking in tongues, I don't know if the tongues they are speaking today is generic." I said, "Come to Power City." He said because he doesn't think people know what they are talking about. I said, "Come to Power City. It's not me that will interpret it. It is new believers, our new converts. They will tongue on your head and interpret for you. It's a common thing among us."
Somebody shout, "Holy Ghost!" Say, "I speak in tongues and I interpret my tongues." Glory to God. Sit down, let's go a little more. Look at Numbers 11:29, PJ. Numbers 11:29. Numbers.
Guest (Male): And Moses said unto him, "Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord's people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them."
Dr. Abel Damina: And that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them. Observe. Numbers 11:24. There's something you're missing, I don't want you to miss it. Numbers 11:24 to 26. Numbers 11:24 to 26.
Guest (Male): And Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle. And the Lord came down in a cloud and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him and gave it unto the seventy elders, and it came to pass that when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and did not cease.
Dr. Abel Damina: They prophesied and never stopped. These fellows, these 70 people, were already elders of the people. So that means before they were recognized and impartation happened, they were already leading. They were not ordained to lead; they were leading, and the leading brought them to where there is a manifestation of the Spirit because faithful in little makes you a ruler over much. If you cannot pastor two disciples, you cannot pastor five. If you cannot pastor two people, you cannot pastor ten.
In the kingdom, you begin little because the kingdom of God is as if a man will cast seed into the ground and sleep and wake up, sleep and wake up, night and day; he knoweth not how, but the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself. So the work starts small. Small. Because the test of faithfulness, which is required in every steward, will be in small things. If you can't be faithful with little, you can never rule over much. That's the way it begins. So if you despise little, you can never be great. You can't despise little because God's things always start little.
God does not start things big. Even in the natural, the only thing you do from the top is to dig a grave. The only thing you do from the top is to dig a grave. Anything that will go up starts from underground. Even in life. If you're going to build, and the higher the building, the deeper the depth. Which means when God is preparing you, nobody will hear your name, nobody will see your face, nobody will know you're there, but you are in the campus doing exploits. Nobody knows it's you, but they are seeing the results.
Those times when nobody is seeing you, yet you are the one going for evangelism, you are the one doing prayer crews, you are the one doing follow-up, you are the one raising disciples and nobody gave you a microphone to coordinate anything. Even Sunday school class, they forgot to give you a class, but you are faithfully working. You are digging a foundation for how high you will go in ministry. I'm talking to somebody here who has despised the days of little beginnings. If you can't be faithful with little, you can never be a ruler over much. That's God's calculation.
That's the way God operates. The kingdom always starts small. For though your beginning be little, your end shall greatly increase. That's the way God functions. I'm teaching good here. Look at Jesus. He wants to save the whole world, so He takes 12 people out of the whole world. 12. 12. And begins to pour Himself into these 12. Three and a half years, nobody knows these 12 people. And even in the process, He lost one. He almost lost the other one. He had to pray.
"Simon, Simon, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat, but I have prayed for you. I have prayed for you that your faith fail not. You will be converted, and if you, their leader, is already like this, the whole of them are like this." Everything rises and falls with leadership. "I've prayed for you. When you are converted, strengthen your brethren." So these fellows were already known to be leaders of the people. Choose men whom you know to be leaders. They are not leaders to be chosen; no, they are leaders first, so choose them.
Which means leadership does not begin with appointment. Leadership begins long before appointment. You start leading before you lead. You start pastoring before you pastor. You don't start pastoring by pastoring. Service is starting by eight; you are in church by seven. Leadership. You pray, you clean up, you arrange the place, you're waiting. As people are arriving, you're welcoming them. Leadership before you lead. Not waiting for when you are now the campus leader you say that's when I will come early. No, it is leadership before you lead.
I remember when Power City was small. We were the ones coming to sweep, clean everywhere, even toilet. We were raising, doing everything, raising people. Now we have people all over this place, so I don't have to come early here to sweep. But if the need arises, I will still come because once a servant, always a servant. If the need arises, we will still come. I've gone to conferences and I arrived before the people, and I helped the people in arranging seats. A conference where I will preach.
Once a servant, always a servant. You can never, never be too big to do the things you did in the beginning that brought you to where you came. You can never be too big to do the things you did in the beginning that brought you to where you are. Because the things you did that brought you far, you will keep doing them till you die. The same things that you did that took you from point A to B to C to D, you will keep doing. If you lose those things, you will no more move forward because whatever you did that moved you from being a nobody to where you started gaining relevance means it carries the power to carry you to the end.
So you must never lose those fundamentals. If you're going to lead and last leading, you must never lose those fundamentals. So these guys were already leaders. Why? The experience is good and useful. But that's not all that is needed. Because later on we see in Numbers 27, Joshua, after Moses, was told he would not go into the land with the nation of Israel. Numbers 27:18 to 20.
Guest (Male): And the Lord said unto Moses, "Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him."
Dr. Abel Damina: Did you observe that? A man in whom is what? The Spirit. Then what do you do? Lay hands. So the laying on of hands is not for you to receive the Spirit. You already have the Spirit before we lay their hands. In whom is the Spirit, then lay your hands on him. Look at the next verse, 19.
Guest (Male): And set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and give him a charge in their sight. Verse 20: And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
Dr. Abel Damina: You shall put your honor upon him. Not only the Spirit, you will add honor to what you put on him so that the people following him will obey. But don't forget, it is not the laying of hands or the honor that gave him the Spirit. He had the Spirit first, and the Spirit produced results before you laid the hands and before you put your honor on him. Which means people that have not been tested cannot be announced. You can't be announced until you are tested, until you are proven.
You can't be announced. You're wondering why your campus leader has not given you a microphone to make some announcements; we never test you. Every time we want to test you, you travel to one appointment. Every time we want to test you, you travel. So we've not tested you, even though when you speak you sound like a man of God. But you have not been tested because you can sound like a man of God before you take the microphone. It's in this church I tested one of my spiritual sons years ago. I went to South Africa.
Indian guy. I went to South Africa, and he was telling me, "Oh, you know, Dr. Damina, I just thank God for you. I went to preach the other day, three cripples walked. I went to preach the other day, one guy that was struggling, his blind eyes opened." He was just bamboozling me with testimonies. I said, "Wonderful." Throughout my stay preaching for him, every opportunity he would give me one testimony or the other. For three days, my ears had nothing other than testimony.
So he wanted me to see he's a great man of God, so I decided to see him as a great man of God. So I told him, "You are preaching in my convention. You will be the guest speaker in my convention. You, you will preach for me. This trouble you have troubled me, we must see it." So he came to Uyo. I made sure some heavy men have preached while he's sitting and watching. Then I made sure he was second to the last speaker. The day I gave him microphone, he stood here. Within five minutes, his voice disappeared.
(Damina imitates a raspy voice) "I said the power of God would come upon you. I said the power of God would come upon you. I said the power of God would come upon you." I was sitting in front. The healer needs to be healed. "I said the power of God would come upon you." I'm sitting and looking at him. You think it's a joke? You're making noise; now it's time for you to do this cripple walking. Your voice has become crippled. (Imitating the raspy voice again) "I said the power of God would come upon you. I'm not joking. I said the power of God would come upon you."
After about 10 minutes, he said, "Stand up, let us pray." 10 minutes. Everything has finished, including voice. I took over the mic that night, set this house on fire that night. So I was speaking with Pastor Ayo. Papa Ayo preached in that conference, so when he went, he now called, he said, "Abel, how was it after I left?" I said, "Baba." He said, "What about that Indian guy you said was going to preach?" I said, "Baba, mmm." He said, "What happened?" I said, "Within five, 10 minutes, his voice disappeared."
Baba said, "Na fear. Abel, na fear! You think say na joke? Na fear. Fear collect him voice." You've got to be tested. Those years of testing you, those years of private prayers, those years of praying in prayer crews, those years of going out to evangelize, they are your training ground for the day of test. When you are used to it, the day you stand before people, it will not be any big thing; it will just flow. There is a day of showing forth. But before that day of showing forth, there are days of preparation. Preparation time is not wasted time. Preparation time is not wasted time.
Now when you see him say "put your honor on him," that term "honor" is the same word for glory. Let me close with Deuteronomy 34:9. Am I blessing somebody in this service?
Guest (Male): And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.
Dr. Abel Damina: Laid hands on him, laid hands on him, and he was full of the spirit of wisdom. Why was he full of the spirit of wisdom? For Moses had laid his hands upon him. And what was the result? And the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and they did not as Joshua commanded, but as Moses commanded. Because what was at work in Joshua was the grace of Moses. What was at work in Joshua was the mandate of Moses.
We are an apostolic house. Power City is an apostolic house. We are one house, one leadership, one voice, one mandate, one assignment, one persuasion. One house! One house! A critical element of leadership is the Spirit upon that person. The Spirit upon that person can be called supernatural leadership or Spirit-filled leadership. The Spirit upon. The leadership of the church is not the leadership of business place. It's not the same with the leadership in your workplace or in the secular world.
Saul's kind of leadership fits into the bill the world wants. Saul had no spiritual experience. Samuel told him to go and get anointed. In 1 Samuel 10:11, that process with Saul didn't happen to David. The moment David was anointed, the Spirit of God came on him from that day forward. Before Saul the king, he had a prior experience with the Lord. Look at 1 Samuel 16:13, forgive me, let me round up with that. Numbers—1 Samuel 16:13, PJ.
Guest (Male): Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brethren, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.
Dr. Abel Damina: From that day forward. Saul had no prior experience with God. They just carried him and put inside leadership. No experience with God. There are experiences to the Christian faith. We don't work by experiences, but there are experiences to the Christian faith. The Holy Spirit takes the written Word and turns it into our everyday experience. The Holy Spirit takes the written Word and turns it into our everyday experience. The Holy Spirit makes the Word of God our daily life.
So without the Holy Spirit, you are done for because it is the Holy Spirit that will take the Word of God and turn it into our everyday experience. Leadership has to be Spirit-filled, not just about ideas. That was why Paul was doing a near disclaimer. We didn't come with enticing words, but we came in a demonstration of power. Paul is saying oratory does not convince people, but the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is what causes men to believe the gospel.
You preach, the Holy Ghost does the conviction. You do the preaching, the Holy Ghost does the conviction. Sometimes you're preaching, the person looks very adamant, but then suddenly you see him broken. This stubborn man? Yes, while you were preaching, the Spirit was working. To you he was rebellious, but to the Spirit he was submitting. That's why there's a sudden turn. The guy who was arguing is the one saying "pray for me."
The guy who proved stubborn is the one now that is carrying your Bible, "Let's go for evangelism." What happened? The Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters. God is speaking when the Spirit moved. God didn't say "let there be light" until there was a move of the Spirit. So we trust the Holy Ghost to do His work while we preach the gospel in its clarity. Leadership is the ability to steer the people of God by the Spirit in the direction of God's will.
The ability to steer the people of God by the Spirit in the direction of God's purpose. Leadership is influence, the ability to influence people against their own plan. Listen carefully. The call of God is a rude interruption in your natural course of life. That's the call of God. Everybody that God called, that call interrupted their life's plan. All of them. You're just busy doing your thing. You have your dream, you have your vision, things you want to do, then suddenly you're born again.
Suddenly you receive the Holy Ghost. Suddenly you now understand your responsibilities. Before we say Jack, what you were planning to achieve in your secular, you are now doing it for ministry. There are many of you here, you never dreamed you will preach the gospel as a full-time minister, but right now you are doing it. You're doing it! Why? Your life has been interrupted. The last thing you would have dreamed of is to be in Uyo for Bible study.
Because there was a time in your city to even go to Bible study will take fasting and prayer. And then now on your own you buy ticket, on your own you pay hotel, on your own you're in church. When we talk about power, this is power. Power done catch you! Stand up, let's go. Glory to God! Tell your neighbor, "Neighbor, I am arrested! The power is at work. I have nowhere to go. Ministry is my life. My life is ministry. And I am the better for it. I am so glad that God has called me. I am so glad to serve God with my whole life."
I didn't hear a powerful amen. Look, stand on your feet. That's all I have for you this night. Tomorrow morning we continue, tomorrow evening we continue. But watch this. Just like God interrupted your life and caught you, me too, He interrupted my life. Haven't I told you? I never dreamed I would do ministry. Honey, you remember? Back in those days, Mama would say to me, "You are a pastor," I would tell her, "Stop that! Stop!" He's small, I would tell her, "God punish you! Stop! Ask her, stop that!"
Because she used to follow us to go for preaching and prayer and all that. Then we didn't even think we would marry. There was no marriage in our head. She would just say, "Ah, the way I see you, brother Abel." That's what they used to call me. She's here now, ask her after service, she will tell you. She would say, "Brother Abel, the way I see you, you are a pastor." I said, "Stop that!" Small, I would say, "God punish you." The last thing I want you to call me is pastor.
I hated it with a passion because my father was a pastor and there was no beauty in him to desire. I never dreamed I would be—believe me, I grew up inside church. The way church people dealt with my father, I hated church, I hated the people, I didn't want to have anything to do with them. I just wanted to make money. Since what suffered my father was money, I wanted to make money and retaliate and support pastors like my father, not to suffer like my father.
That was my dream and I was heading to doing it. I was not dreaming of pastoring anybody. But as I studied the Bible, my love for Jesus began to grow. I would discover things that work for me. I would see people struggling in that area. I would call them, I would share with them. They would do what I did, it would work. "Ah, come!" It would work. "Ah, come!" It would work. "Ah, come!" It would work. "Ah, come!" And until today, I am still trying to show people.
You see, brethren, our calling, not many wise, not many noble, not many strong, but God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound those that are wise. I never saw a vision. I didn't hear a voice. I'm being honest with you. I never heard God say, "My son, my son, I have called you to the ministry." I never heard it; I've not heard it till now. All I hear God saying to me is "preach my word, share with people." And I keep sharing. I keep sharing.
"Reintroduce Jesus," and I am reintroducing. I am yet to hear, "My son, I have called you to enter the office." No, I've not heard that one yet. All I'm hearing is "reintroduce Jesus." And many of you, that's what you are hearing. Reintroduce Jesus. I know you're an engineer. Continue engineering, but reintroduce Jesus. I know you're an architect. Continue architecturing, but reintroduce Jesus. I know, I know, I know you're in technology. Keep technologizing, but reintroduce Jesus.
And as you're reintroducing Jesus, it is catching you. Now you have come to Uyo, reintroducing Jesus. Glory to God! And I speak over you tonight, as your two hands are lifted up and your amen coming like thunder: you will fulfill your ministry! You will fulfill your ministry! The grace of God that is upon your life will help you to fulfill the mandate of God. You will not be tired. You will not retire. You're fired up! You're stirred up!
You serve God's purpose. You preach the gospel in and out of season. You're kept by the power of God. And in the name of Jesus, I declare tonight you will never be distracted. In the name of Jesus, you will serve God's purpose the remaining days of your life. In the name of Jesus, I decree that you walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. I call you fruitful unto every good work. You're kept, you're preserved. You're delivered from wicked and unreasonable men.
I command that the zeal of the house of God consumes you. You're on fire for God's purpose. In the name of Jesus. Hold somebody, let's pray in few minutes in tongues. Let's pray for one another. Pray for somebody tonight. pray for somebody tonight. Minister to somebody by the Holy Ghost. Speak over somebody tonight. Being confident of this very thing, that He who has started this good work in you will be faithful to finish it. Will be faithful to finish it. Will be faithful to finish it.
In and out of season, preach the word in and out of season. Lift those hands and begin to worship Him and thank Him for His call upon your life. Begin to thank God for His calling. Begin to thank God for His purpose. Begin to thank God for the mandate of the Holy Ghost upon your life. Thank you, Lord. Praise you, Father. In Jesus' name we pray, and every believer says that amen on a note of Homecoming celebration! Go ahead and celebrate the call of God on your life!
Celebrate the mandate of God upon your life! Celebrate the purpose of God for your life! Celebrate the grace of God upon your life! Celebrate the sufficiency of God! Glory! Glory, glory, glory! If you are blessed tonight, shout "blessed, blessed, blessed!" Grab your honor offerings, let's give tonight and rejoice before I join Michael Bush in the next five minutes for "Ask the Counsel." Now we spend a few minutes tonight to still answer a few questions, bringing clarity to what God is calling us to do as a collective family.
Radio audience, you want to give and support what we do. We have a mandate to reach the world. We have a mandate to all nations, every tribe, every tongue, every people group. And it will take a people that have understood God's heartbeat to give joyfully to the cause. TV, the banking details are scrolling. Online, the banking details are scrolling. Lift up your offerings in the building. Father, we give in faith, we give with joy.
Thank you for the privilege to make our resources available for the advancement of your kingdom on the earth. And we are rejoiced to be—rejoicing to be co-laborers with you. So thank you for this opportunity. And we give you praise tonight that our offerings are a sweet smell before you. In Jesus' name we pray. Every believer says a powerful amen.
