Your Present Deliverance
Your Present Deliverance
John MacArthur: This is John MacArthur, welcoming you to Portraits of Grace. Paul said that the word of the cross is to those who are perishing, foolishness, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. That verse emphasizes the marvelous reality of our present deliverance from sin.
Peter stressed the same thing when he said that we obtain as the outcome of our faith, the salvation of our souls. We can rejoice because the logical result of our proven faith is our ongoing deliverance from sin. While we have new life in Christ and are new creatures in him, we have not yet been glorified.
Consequently, we still remain subject to sin's influence, but Jesus is continually our great deliverer. Praise him for continually delivering you from sin's bondage. This is John MacArthur, hoping you'll join me again for Portraits of Grace.
