Jesus’ Humility in Death
Jesus’ Humility in Death
John MacArthur: This is John MacArthur welcoming you to Portraits of Grace. We all know what it's like to be treated unfairly or rudely. Our natural tendency is to lash out and assert our rights when we're hurt. But think about how Jesus reacted when He was unjustly tried. He didn't respond in anger. He remained quiet and accepted abuse when He was whipped, stripped, mocked, spit on, and beaten.
He didn't demand His rights when He was condemned to death and forced to walk to Calvary half-naked with a cross on His back. He even endured crucifixion, the most painful form of death ever devised by man. In spite of all our Lord suffered, He never once complained. And that was because He was motivated by His Father's love to die for sinners like you and me. I hope His example of selfless humility motivates you to respond with grace and humility whenever you're treated unfairly.
