Glorifying God
Glorifying God
John MacArthur: This is John MacArthur with another edition of Portraits of Grace. In Exodus 33, Moses said to God, "I pray thee, show me thy glory." And God said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you, and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and show compassion on whom I will show compassion."
In effect, God was saying that His glory is the composite of His attributes. Now, that suggests that we can glorify God by reflecting His attributes in our lives—attributes such as grace and compassion. When others see love and mercy and kindness and patience in us, they're catching a glimpse of God. And that brings Him glory. This is John MacArthur, looking forward to bringing you more Portraits of Grace.
