A Living Sacrifice
John MacArthur: This is John MacArthur. Join me for today's Portraits of Grace. The apostle Paul pled with believers to present their bodies to God as living and holy sacrifices. But the problem with living sacrifices is that they tend to crawl off the altar.
Sacrificial living is difficult because it demands spiritual discipline, death to self, and constant dependence on God. Before you were saved, you had neither the desire nor the ability to make such a sacrifice. But as a new creation in Christ, you can stop presenting the members of your body to sin as servants of unrighteousness and start presenting them as instruments of righteousness to God.
As a holy priest, may your priestly work begin with presenting yourself as a living and holy sacrifice. This is John MacArthur, encouraging you to live as portraits of grace.
