Portraits of Grace

John MacArthur: This is John MacArthur welcoming you to Portraits of Grace. Have you noticed that whenever you take a public stand for righteousness, you feel the reaction of the world more strongly? Even something as noble as doing your work with integrity and diligence can bring ridicule, rejection, or even open hostility for those who prefer to slough off. But that shouldn't surprise you. Jesus said a slave is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they'll persecute you. It's certainly not difficult to imagine an excellent Christian worker being promoted over others only to incur the displeasure of jealous fellow workers who criticize or falsely accuse him in an attempt to discredit him.

I hope that if you are ever faced with a situation like that, you are especially diligent to do your work under the Lord. Guard your own attitude and let the Lord defend you. You're a portrait of grace and he'll take care of you, believer.
