Although we have given names like Baptist, Methodist and Presbyterian to the church, to God, the church is “the bride of Christ.” It is an assembly of believers called out from the world to bear witness to God’s grace and mercy. The church has a glorious future, and it is called to be blameless as it awaits the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Untold eons ago, God’s chief angel rebelled, taking a third of the heavenly host with him. Though his doom is certain, Satan’s rebellion is far from over, since he and his legions now seek to draw you and I into rebelling as they did. Who is the devil? Why did he rebel and how should believers treat him?

To most people, angels play harps and fly with wings. But in the Bible, the word “angel” signifies a “messenger,” and they have serious duties to perform for God and for the people of God. Want to know more about angels? Erwin Lutzer delves into the scriptures to find out what God says about this topic.

The word Gospel means “good news,” and for sinners, it is indeed good news. To talk about the gospel is to talk about salvation, our need for it, and God’s provision to make redemption possible. In this message, Erwin Lutzer will explore what salvation is all about, and how you can personally receive it.

The prophet Habakkuk wrote, “O Lord, your eyes are too pure to look upon evil, you cannot tolerate wrong.” Humanity’s sin is an affront to a holy God. The paradox of God’s holiness and man’s depravity is solved through Jesus Christ. God provided redemption at the price of his own Son’s life. Yet all too many Christians tolerate the sin that God cannot tolerate.

“I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that he may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth...” Jesus promised his disciples that, through the Holy Spirit, his presence would remain with them after his departure. The Holy Spirit is our focus today, as we learn about another cardinal element of what Christians believe: This truth is that we have a Comforter given to guide and sustain us throughout life.

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” It was Jesus who spoke those words, the Son of God who came to reveal the father to us, and to give his life as an atonement for sin. The Lord Jesus Christ is our focus today, as we learn about another cardinal element of what Christians believe: the Christ from whose name we derive the word “Christian.”

At the core of what a Christian must believe is that there is a God, and that He created all that exists. The Bible tells us that God is our heavenly Father, a Father who desires His children to walk in truth and obedience to all He has commanded. Today, Erwin Lutzer is continuing a series on the central teachings all believers must understand, and we invite you to join him.

For years, Joseph was the vice-regent of Egypt, having saved both Egypt and Israel from famine. In Exodus we read of a king, “who knew not Joseph.” This king forgot the faithfulness of God that had been displayed to the Israelites.
