God, Yes, But Why Jesus? Part 2 (God, Yes, By Why Jesus?)

March 13, 2016

The government throws billions of dollars at problems that money cannot solve. Despite education funding, the world still seems broken. There’s no doubt people need transformation, but only God can do that. The glory of God can change people from darkness to light.

One of the oldest books in the Bible asks a question that is still being asked today! In Job 14:14 we read, “If a man dies, shall he live again?” Life is not about riches or fame, success or failure. First Corinthians was written to a church with serious moral issues. Can we view our sexuality through the prism of the glory of God?

When economic difficulties arise, people lose jobs, homes, and self-respect. Even those still employed feel the pain as fewer people work harder for companies to survive. But focusing on the glory of God can help us weather economic storms.

At the core of God’s desire to bring glory to Himself is the plan of redemption. He put it in place long before any of us were born. Bringing many sons and daughters to glory through redemption was His eternal intention, knowing that mankind would fall in the Garden of Eden.

Why do you go to church? Believers should want to meet God, and further extend and extol His glory. We gather to express to God His worth to us, and that’s what the word “worship” is all about.

What should motivate believers in daily life?  As we mature in the faith, we come to realize more and more that it’s not about us. It’s about God.  His glory fills the earth and the heavens. When we see our lives as part of a much larger plan, we understand that giving God glory is what life is all about.
