Our God is a God of Providence. What does that mean? Everything that God does has a purpose. There is meaning and significance in everything about God. And this is certainly true when it comes to his word. Take out your Bible, and look with me to the book of Luke and chapter two. Now we've been studying the events surrounding the birth of Messiah, we saw that that birth of Messiah was proclaimed to a group of shepherds, shepherds who were out in the field guarding their flock.

God has set apart a family. And that family is known as the Levites. And this tribe of Levi, they were set apart for a purpose. And we see that there are two servants that come from the tribe of Levi. The first are the Levites themself. And among the Levites is from that that household of Aaron, are the priests.

The most important event in all of human history is the resurrection, the resurrection of Messiah shuaa, that is Jesus Christ from the dead. And the next most significant event is tied to the resurrection. And I'm speaking about the birth of Messiah, the resurrection could only happen, because Messiah entered in to this world. And another way that we could talk about the birth is with that theological term, the incarnation.

We want to be people that are reconciled, not only to God, but as we've talked about, to His will. And we see that one of the purposes of the tabernacle and therefore also the temple is for us to be reconciled through being individuals that respond to the conviction of God in our life today as believers, the conviction of the Holy Spirit, that we might experience the fact as God sees us that we are oftentimes guilty before him, and that we might be moved to seek forgiveness, and to do retribution, meaning to pay the price of our offenses to others.

Today, I have good news for you. Because we're going to begin a discussion on the gospel. And the gospel is good news. But not just any good news. It is specifically good news about redemption. And through redemption, we find salvation, we find hope, a sure hope that has an eternal Kingdom consequence, that through redemption, we will be in the kingdom of God, and know the blessings of God and the promises of God forever.

God has caused us to be known by his name. When we have entered into that new covenant, we have become by him a new creation. And we are known as a new people, a people of the kingdom, a people that he has placed His spirit within. And he has promised never to withdrawal that spirit, never to leave us nor forsake us and to work in our life to begin, and to complete his work in our life, that we might be in the end, His pleasing people.

God was at work 2000 years ago, in bringing about supernaturally the conception of John the Baptists. And then as we know, through a virgin birth, we see how Messiah entered into this world to bring about salvation. And when we look at the Scripture concerning the birth of these two men, we see something we see that prophecy surrounds their birth. And why is that?
